Talking about moderator actions is also a no-no. You might want to just delete your post and let this thread die.

well posting what happened to me will make others aware so they don't make the same mistake and perhaps save the mods the trouble of having to do the same actions to them. I am not blaming the mods, they have their superiors to answer to.

Hmm good thing you posted this OP....I was starting to consider a "It's Ok Pluto, I'm Not A Planet Either" sig...well it was in my choices of possible future sigs

LOL look at it this way, we get to RP Gene Roddenberry dealing with the networks over what he could and couldn't put in the show. He certianly knew how to push that limit. I guess you could borrow his strategy of using profanity by simply changing the language of the profanity. I am sure if some of the Klingon insults were translated into english they would get a few censor bleeps.

This. OP, you realize that you're "fighting the system" over potty humor? Do you really want that?

I seem to recall a while ago there was a lengthy thread about cleavage in the uniforms or lack of and it's 'objectionability'(is that a word?) in regards to the Atari guidelines...Orion Slave girls excluded. I highly doubt they were 'fighting the system' and neither am I. I have no objections to the mods rules. As Roddenberry probably found out what you might think isn't offensive, there are always some people that will, that line can be rather grey sometimes.

I am just pointing out what happened to me and that I do find this whole thing and your responses amusing, more amusing than my initial humor was intended to be.

Well then again considering what your original attempt at humor was (related to planet number 7, right?), being more amusing then it isn't very hard to do. Right down there with TRIBBLE jokes, right?

    See what I did there?

lol well I guess I won't make any jokes about oomox, pon farr, klingon mating rituals either:D I'll just let Quark do that for me.

The great George Carlin was quite funny when it came to TRIBBLE jokes. He was a hero of mine, not for the jokes, but his attitudes on what you are allowed to say and not.

The gas giant in the Andoria system looks like U.... (if does, it shares the same pale blue color and has rings) It is probably the same size as U... I wonder if the star trek creators used U... as inspiration for the Andorian system. (I am not trying to be funny, but if you got a chuckle out of it, right on brotha/sista)

Subtle dirty humor is all over trek. That is what makes it so funny because it is sublte...dirty without being flat out obsecene like todays typical shows. I bet most of you got a giggle out of Data's fully functional jokes and Yar making a pass at him. Like wise with Quark's humor, implied klingon profanity, Kirk and his women, Riker was kind of like TNG's Kirk. Heck they were quite open about Tucker's fling with T'Pol. Anyway enjoy Trek, it is quite funny if you watch it closely. I won't bother to get into the suggestive clothing and characters that were added mid season of a series to appeal to a particular demographic.

Oh well my paid account expires today, I have been a VA for a little while and have killed enough mobs and brutally TRIBBLE enough bad guy aliens my character doesnt like. Great morals to teach kids...hack up the people you don't like....much better than making a joke and laughing to relieve the tension of a situation.

Thank you all for giving me a laugh on my way out, i might come back after season 4 is out to see if there is some more stuff to do.

Take care and don't take your 'trek' selves too seriously. ;)

    GO GIANTS!

Oh, was I on the other side of the argument in that one? :( I tend to change my mind a lot.
Plus, well, there's the fact that.... LOOK OVER THERE!! -points-

Well maybe the context wasn't apropriate, but I found humor in it, might have been border-line vulgar to them, but I am fairly certain you can still type the name of the planet, Uranus, it is still a planet in our Solar system, at least till someone says it isn't anymore....Poor Pluto :( I weep for thee....

OMG...you are soooo banned right now!:p

To be honest though.....with all the rules having clearity like mud,on these forums there is no safe side of the apropriate line. I could go on,but I've spewed my bile.....uhm,I mean concerns.....about this in another thread.

You might want to avoid anything that contains "TRIBBLE juice". Wishy doesn't seem to like that term. :(

Can't someone just type Uranus? This isn't some obtuse daytime television ad about that little pill that hurts that certain part of your anatomy.

I mean, I like Bayer aspirin as much as the next guy, but sometimes marketing is ridiculous.

    Thats genius haha

This does however seem a little extreme to remove a "Seventh Planet" joke from a signiture because it features a naughty word. I mean Ran, disgusting filthy word is Ran :p

To the OP - End of the day, a rule is a rule and we were warned about the new updates to the guidlines and rules. Just come up with a new sig and be done with it, dont go to war with the Dev team. Im sure their hands are tied as much as ours are :)
