Last couple days my STO has been crashing, sometimes 2 times in a day. Ive ran all my anti-virus scans, anit-malware scans etc, nothing turned up. It has only been doing this about 2 days now, but ive been playing it for like 3 weeks or so and never had a problem until yesterday. My guess is its some kind of memory leak, because my sto switches to windowed mode on me for no apparent reason and then i have to sqitch it back.
ya, i have crashed very badly twice today too. just standing in esd. dont bother submititing a ticket, they will just tell you its overheating, and that you should clean your computer.
crashes after about 10 minutes every time today. just started doing this since the last patch. hope the other one today improves the situation. this is no good at all.

ok, i pulled out my video card, and removed about a pound of cat hair, dirt, and smeg.
before, i was running in excess of 106 degrees, and shutting down. now its around 80. game maxed out at about 100. not great, but acceptable.

Im mystified as to what the problem is....
Are you running and ATI graphics card by chance? I am crashing left and right on ground maps since the last 2 patches. My case is clean and my drivers are the latest and still I get bounced out of game every time I get into a firefight on the ground.
I've never really had connection issues with this game, at least no more than I would expect from any other MMO. However this past week I've been becoming disconnected several times each episode I try, even though my internet connection is stable as is my computer.
I'm not sure how to test for "memory leaks" or anything of the like, but if there is any data I can contribute to figuring out the connection issues, I am a candidate.

fix is to turn dynamic lighting off . Some was able to keep dynamic lighting on by lowing the number of lights sources.
I believe that is how i got past the crashes last time. I reduced the number of light sources to the minimum then and have kept it there since.
