I am a sad panda.
People say that us PvP must leave the game because we ruin their fun. They need all those shiny new toys that make them more powerful then before to experience the cool stories and adventures Cryptic creates for the players of this game.
My kind is not needed. If I had known earlier, I wouldn't have become a bluename.

If this was like DCUO PvP servers where the level 30s would constantly pick on the level 5s then I could see the complaint.
Yeah - it's not like it's EVE Online where people can randomly decide to be complete jack a**es and can flip your hard mined minerals and then provoke a fight out of you.
i just ignore anyone who talks trash in pvp. it really is only a very small minority but once you ignore those few jerks, then its all good.
Sometimes even a vocal minority can hurt.
"I" (as in the PvP community) got their Tractor Beam Mines nerfed, because those ruined my enjoyment of the game. "I" also got Transfer Shield Strength fixed and made useful, but that was a long time ago...
I hate those people. I like witty banter and joking around with friends, but insulting random people is bad.
They give me a bad reputation. I can't even give honest compliments to people because I am just assumed to using sarcasm to lay down the smack.
I am okay with not liking those people, too. I advise ignoring them (since naming and shaming is against the rules in STO).
Ah... misunderstood what you were saying before. To hell with them if they can't figure out how to adapt to game changes.
To be honest, of all the MMOs i've played I have yet to have any problems/difference with powers I use that have been "nerfed" from their pre-"nerfed state. Does that mean there is something wrong with me?
only if you fight him to the death in pvp.
it is the law of the land.
I thought that was for the hand of the vulcan chick. Is there a vulcan chick present here?
No, really, is there?
sometimes they're worse if they start to trash talk against you during the Infected or Cure missions then you ingore them and move on
One, I don't hate you.
Two, I am sick of gripey PvPers who complain about any power or tactic they get defeated by and get it nerfed in PvE.
Three this is far too serious and needs a dance party.
Think carefully before you answer, I can provide links to those threads.
As for the TSS and other space powers getting fixed because of the extensive testing by the PvPers, that's true. I remember those threads as well. Most people don't. That's the problem, we tend to forget the good and remember the bad.
It's a survival mechanism certainly, but it still sucks.
back off bro, that's good guy i have seen, leave him alone and you SHOULD leave.
I don't know who or what got on your case.... However, you shouldn't quit on something you love just because some one trashed your day.
There are a lot of old MMO hands like me who have played a variety of games online for years. I won't go into the history of it all but it's no secret that in recent times diehard PVP players and diehard PVE players have been at each others throats on internet forums over what they want from a game and neither camp can ever be satisfied by a game that wants to appeal to everyone.
So they fight and pick targets to sate the frustration. The people who enjoy a bit of both end up looking around at the forum bombs while wondering what their world has come too...
From a design perspective I will say that any game that intends to include PVP should balance around it from the get go (including the PVE content.) It just rarely happens in modern times as the themepark mentality has set in. So we end up with games patched through a spastic series of nerfs that ****es everyone off.
Seeking to keep the tools of play fair isn't a bad thing. It's in the developers hands to figure out how to make it work for the entire game's benifit and no fault of yours. Keep it up.
It's obvious some one managed to hurt your feelings. You didn't deserve it. Buck up, wash it off, and get back to having fun while playing.
It seems to be so.
But I am getting tired of this stupid us vs them. I want to fight in PvP, not on the forums. I don't want to defend my hobby. I am here and I want to stay here.
This is my first MMO. I usually play "real" roleplaying games, e.g .D&D and whatnot. IN there, PvP is never a big issue (except in dysfunctional groups). But game balance still exists, because the player characters are to be challenged in combat encounters, and if they get too powerful abilities, they no longer are. Game balance can be driven by PvP and PvE alike. Power creep is pretty common in pen & paper roleplaying games.
But of course, for the TBMs and all the item spamming. It didn't necessarily have something to do with being "unbalanced". After all both sides have access to the same tools. It made the game unfun. The game was not unfun before the TBMs existed. But because the TBM had to be introduced, suddenly I am expected to stop PvPing and the game all together, since a nerf of something that existed for less than a few weeks is unacceptable?
Sadly for them, the moment will pass and they will have to go back to looking for a new and much needed ego fix. They'll find it eventually of course. Just don't let it be you again.
Next time put them on ignore and move on. If everyone did that they'd be very lonely, very fast or they might just learn to shut up and find another, healthier way to feel good about themselves for a few moments in their day.
Just remember. Being excellent at what you do in a game has no actual or practical value in real life. These trashtalkers haven't figured that out yet, or do their best to forget it.
Poor fools.
Ah, Mustrum, my dear friend, it is at times like this that I often find myself asking, "WWVD" (What Would Vader Do?) The answer, as always, would be to Force Choke the losers and find the stolen Death Star plans... (All while keeping a watchful eye out for those Aluminum Falcons... Vicious, little critters those are...)
All joking aside, however, I know exactly how you feel, as I find that I read more and more of these silly 'us vs. them', 'PvE vs. PvP' arguments, and, while I could dive headlong into the discussions, bringing my full arsenal of debate practice and (occasional) logic to the fray, but, ultimately, what purpose would it serve? For those most entrenched on either side of the debate, all the Vulcan logic in the universe is not going to sway them from their position (it is that painful human trait, of which we are all guilty, of finding it difficult to admit when we are wrong), the only thing that I will accomplish is to fuel the fires that lead to infractions and bans, which, in the end, would probably make me feel worse than whatever argument that I was attempting to refute, in the first place.
Your 'kind', as you refer to it, is, in fact, exactly what the game and the Community need, my friend. A voice of reason, when reasonable discourse has long since been abandoned. A source of inspiration, when stagnation has settled upon the masses. I know that it is easy to become discouraged, particularly when the tides come rolling in and they are in opposition to where you want to see things go, but being a breakwater sometimes means that you stand in the face of a storm; eventually that storm will subside, but there might be a little wearing on the surface, the important thing is that you do not give way, no matter how fierce the storm may be.
Though I cannot speak for any but myself, you know that you will ever have my full support,

May the Force be with you!
I play my game the way I want to play and if someone feels the need to toss out an insult at me I would not even consider it worthy of my interest or time. .
If I get beat in PVP by a superior enemy or skill, I simply look to be better prepared for the next battle.
You get no points or medals for insulting your competition.
My Advice: "Who cares what others think, it is your game, play it the way you desire and ignore those that try to make it less enjoyable."
