Online revenue, comprised primarily of subscription and digital distribution revenue, was €18.4 million – an increase of €15.3 million over the prior year. The nine months FY 2010/2011 includes subscription revenue from both Star Trek Online and Champions Online which were released in the second quarter of FY 2009/2010. As a result, online revenue was 44.9% of total net revenue as compared to 3.4% in the nine months of the prior fiscal year.

    Very good job Cryptic!

It must be a good thing that BluBay decided to hang on to it's shares of ATARI Stock....

Even though BlueBay blames it on the fact that the deal fell through.

it's probably mostly from Champions Online going F2P.

Atari, quit being greddy and give Cryptic (The very reason for that financial increase in the first place) the funding and staff they need.

Actually, this trend started before Champions went F2P.

Cryptic is the prime reason why Atari is alive right now....one would think Atari would show some thanks with aided in STO's growth more

I've got to agree to this, though I don't know the intricacies of the Cryptari relationship. Cryptic is Atari's breadwinner at the moment; it would behoove Atari to fold some of that cashy money back into its golden child so DStahl can get more bodies in the studio and make STO as *great* as we know it can be.

If you look at Atari's website, STO isnt even in the top 5 of Atari's best selling games:

    http://www.atari.com/

Champions is currently #2, so its definitely bringing in way more money from its subs and C-store than STO is.

well, judging by the report, Atari knew all about the #'s a while ago.
And Cryptic would have had meeting with Atari about its 'allowance' about a month ago.
Since Cryptic hasn't said anything about a whole bunch of new resources, I would bet that it is a big "no".

umm......i don't think they are 'selling' champions. I have played it and i have certainly never paid for it.
That "Top 5" isn't real. It is what they want you to think.

It is possible that is based on box copies, not taking subscriptions and digital purchases into account. :)

Like I just said, they are selling subscriptions and items in the C-store. Those are indeed sales.

So your saying Atari doesnt want people to think STO is selling well? That logic makes no sense.

I don't think any of those are selling well. I think they are saying "buy these top 5 games"

um thats sales from the atari store alone, not from the collective total of all sales from all places that have sold sto since launch.

If you think CO is making more money or has made more money than STO you are sorely mistaken.

"While the companies have not released any specific subscriber or traffic numbers, they have noted that unique logins, concurrent users, and revenue totals have increased by "over 1,000 percent" since Champions Online went free-to-play."

Hehe Hello Kitty Online has a better PvP system than STOs. :p

But I agree with those that said Cryptic should get a better budget. Especialliy with TOR soon to be released. If they had twice the team they have now, there is a chance STO could stand toe-to-toe with them.

Probably right on that - Sadly....

With all the hype of TOR, I don't think G*d could live up too the hype himself. That being said - I expect it to get its fair share of compliants... Besdies every game gets an inital bump then drop then slow grow after that...

I think the "Top Five" is very un-specific. For example, Champions isn't purchasable per se like RCT3 is.

And besides, games like STO earn more money from subs than boxes....

Either way, Champs is on the list and STO isnt.

Hmmm.....perhaps Atari like the money but not the attention of STO?

You can still buy champions at places like direct2drive and steam. So all people wont know champions software is free and buy it.
