How to acquire, run and read the Nettest tool:

    Go to http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe
Download the application and run it (Windows 7 and Vista users make sure to right click the icon and run as admin if you are having issues with the tool running.)

The Nettest tool checks that the ports required for patching and playing Star Trek Online are not blocked or filtered. Good values returned from the Nettest tool look like:

Column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate). If the values in these columns is less than what is expected you may have filtering or blocked ports either on your personal network or from your ISP.

The nettest program verifies that your PC can connect with all of the servers involved in the game by checking that the needed ports are open and that you have sufficient bandwidth to play. These values look a bit low, so you may notice some lag in game, but the good news is that they are all working. :)

Now that we've ruled out connection problems, let's take a look at your game settings.

Has this character ever worked before?
Did you create the character from scratch or did you try to use a saved costume?
Have you tried lowering your video settings?
Have you tried performing a Force Verify? (Launcher -> Options -> Force Verify)
Have you tried launching the game in safe mode? (Launcher -> Options -> Safe Mode)
If running Windows 7, have you verfied that you are running the game as Administrator?
If running Windows 7/Vista, have you verfied that you installed the game using the default path?
