I'm a lifer, been around since beta. I play off and on, I'll play for a month or two, then go away for 6 months or so, then come back. Heck I just hit VA the other day.
Does something happen to lifers? I suppose it is possible that not everyone uses the title when they play.
I saw in the captain database that one of my chars shows as a Lt Cmdr when my characters are all VA.
Perhaps I never got around to changing the info with the costume dealer.
We all be criminals, getting in our space ships, doing the naughty things.
Seriously though, I was playing rather consistently during the Weeklies, but now I only log in if I am really bored or need to feed my Trek fix. Grinding emblems is not my idea of fun, and until a better system for finding groups happens I doubt I will do the STFs and such. Granted every player has a different idea about what is rewarding, but I currently find very little that is worth the effort. I also am not an alt player, and while I did try out every class I found the type I liked and stuck with it.
I oddly did not even mind the perks that lifers have slowly shared with others (Veterans, C-store, etc.) As long as they keep allowing me to play with no extra subscription fees I will continue to play, and buy the random C-Store item when I give up on grinding.
If I was to grumble about one thing, and only a slightly annoyed grumble, it would be that Lifers did not get a neat outfit/uniform. The Veteran uniform was a nice perk, and I put it on all my BOFFs (well the one that can wear uniforms). Yes the Lifers got a special badge, but a nice uniform or outfit would have been a nice touch. Oh well, as I said, it is just a minor thing.
Lifer here. I left a month or two after the game came out and just came back. Just made VA on my first toon.
The game is a lot better now but I'm a little worried about their strategy over the next few months. If combat revamp is bla then there has been a long wait with no pay off. On the other hand, if it's great there will be shouts of joy and much rejoicing in the streets. Only those voices might be a bit fewer because people may get bored during the 3 month wait and go play something else.

Decided to take the plunge when they recently had the reduced pricing on the lifetime sub.
It's pretty cool having a wife that doesn't pitch a fit when I wanted to spend $239.99 for a
game.
She had just received a sweet quarterly bonus, and when that happens she always lets me make a
some big purchases. This was one of them. I kept the email confirmation from Cryptic of the lifetime sub
in my Iphone email. It's a reminder, one of those things in life that make me happy.
that is the date they are hoping for. its not set in stone so it may be after the 28th depending on if it all goes to plan or not.
that's true, but, they've been working on Foundry since its release in Tribble, and they added many more useful things that's been added to Foundry ever since
I like the lifetime option, it lest you play more casual, like I do with some F2P ones I like.
The problem with P2P for me is the NEED to play it EVERY.SINGLE.MINUTE to the the most out of each month. When I'm playing WoW I'm not doing much else LOL
