Ive been doing some thinking lately. I dont have the money for one yet, however, someday Id like to get a Marlin 336C Rifle for deer hunting. A lot of you may not know the history of the lever action rifle or of the cartridge called the 30/30 Winchester.
I read somewhere that the average distance that most deer are shot at is less than 200 yards. Well a 30/30 Winchester will work just fine at that distance if you have the skills to do it. I know this because Ive DONE it myself. A few years ago I was at a 200 yard shooting range and a friend let me use his Winchester 94 rifle to shoot at a life-sized paper target of a white tailed deer at that range. Not only did I hit the target, but also all of my shots were grouped around the heart and lungs.
My point is that I could use a very modern rifle like this offering from Remington, with more powerful ammunition and a rifle scope mounted on it. However, I still prefer the Marlin rifle in the classic 30/30 win. cartridge. Sure the design is very old, however, that does not mean the new rifles being made today are useless. I would not feel under-powered carrying a 30/30 rifle into the woods come hunting season. No one is going to toss me out of a hunting cabin because I did not show up with a modern rifle.
I believe that ship crafting should allow a player to retrofit a T1 Miranda or a TOS Constitution to end game level. A player should not be banished from PvP and STF missions just because of the ship he/she decides to use.
I dont understand why some players seam to think that the size of your ship should be an I win button. If that were true than the Klingons would win every PvP match in the game because their battle cruisers and carriers are bigger than the Federation ships.
One last point: Im not saying that the Miranda or the TOS Constitution should somehow be more powerful than the Sovereign Class, just that they should still be competitive.
He actually is discussing STO, if you read far enough.

But to the OP - The R-25 I have experienced jamming and locking issues when I go into a 'rapid' fire. If you are lookign for something in the assualt weapon motif - do a .308 FN FAL.

No they shouldn't. They are older designs and platforms. The Soveriegn is much newer technology and platform wise. It was really intended to be a battle cruiser, but STOL missed the mark on that one, creating the Excelsior refit to fill that role.

The term "assult weapon" has become such a dirty word  . I prefer "semi-auto sporting rifle" if ya don't mind.
I'd love to have a basic shuttle spec'd to end game level. Imagine your flying your klingon battle cruiser in a PVP and some tiny fed shuttle blows you up.

Apparently some mods dont take the time to read the threads they are moderating.

How true.

Hmm.. on second thought not such a good idea.
Since, sadly, we now have a duplicate, I will lock this one down.
Please try to keep the other thread on-topic to STO.
