Ok, I know its not directly related to STO, but with all that is going on in Japan I had a great idea, which is in the spirit of Federation...

Over the next couple of days everyone on STO, takes 5 mins time out and visits DS9 Temple for Prayers, well wishes & support for Japan and Japanese players...

With all due respect, I personally think it is best to keep real life tragedies(and religious activities) in RL, and not bring them into a video game.

I would think it's better to remember real life and not escape so much to a video game. This is not a "religious" or "political" discussion, it's humans responding to tragedy, in a way very Star Trek.

    -1 point on keeping sig.

Also, OP good intentions, wrong section.

Or we could do something more useful, like have part of the proceeds from the C-Store go to the Japanese Red Cross, or we could donate directly.

    Just a thought.

People play games for an escape from the problems of real life, not to be reminded of them. If anyone plays so much they dont know about whats going on in life, then they are playing too much. And if you actually read the OP, he mentions japanese prayers, so that is a religious activity. I dont know who said anything about politics, I guess your just imagining things.

I was just thinking to like take time out for Japan....every individual peson makes it what they want it to be, its just the thought, of taking time out to spare a thought for Japan, and backing it up by a symbol, of going to DS9 temple for example.

I did not mean to start dissargreements

While i respect your opinion, many will be turned off by such things but in RL people if they wish to help the Japanese people during this time of need should donate to the American Red Cross.
