Wow...what a crazy couple days. We finally have limited services restored to where I stationed in Northern Japan. That quake was crazy and we are still having aftershocks. I am lucky to be where I am, and do encourage everyone to support the people of Japan however they can. Words cannot describe the events that have transpired. All I will say is that the damage and devastation from the quake and Tsunami is worse than you can imagine from the scenes you see on TV.

Grats on being okay. It sounds absolutely miserable over there. Every time I see another clip on the news, the situation just looks more grim. I just read today they're going to have rolling blackouts for a couple months. It sounds like rough times are ahead for everyone over there. :(

yeah we really have to conserve power. Probably wont' be able to play STO for a little bit. Luckily I'm a lifer. We got word that Russia and a few other countries are sending power to Japan to help stabilize the power grid and hopefully have less black-outs. We shall see.

Stay safe and good luck, we're thinking and praying for you over here, I can only imagine the devastation in person is mind numbing, make sure you find a release for all that energy build up.

I can't even imagine what it's like over there...looking at the statistics, videos online, and checking out the updates on some of the nuclear plants, it seems Japan is at one of it's most critical times.

I'll most likely find some way to donate money to some sort of relief fund.

There's a PnP gaming site that does sales with proceeds going to relief efforts. I've gotten stuff from them before. While the thing I'm linking to is a direct donation thing, you can click on one of those 7 products to buy. The proceeds are donated and you get a license to download the product. The stuff doesn't look great, but you'd get *something* for your donation, anyway.

Just to build on my previous post, the Ronin bundle looks to be well worth the $5 if you think you'll ever play pnp with Japanese theme. There's 150 pages of stuff there, a large portion of it looks to be accurate. Even a non-gamer who is interesting in Japanese history may enjoy reading through it. It is non-fiction up until page 31, with a large portion of it looking believable after that.

So if you're looking to make a small donation, this is hort's recommendation to pretty much everyone. :D

Well, I for one really hope you're not near the area of the ***ushima nuclear plant, and that the Japanese authorities can get that situation under control before another bad thing happens.

I honestly still have to question the logic have having 52 nuclear reactors in a country known for some of the most violent earthquakes on the planet. I( realize most geologist said there would never be an earthquake beyond 7.0 in the region; but in this situation, it just goes to show that sience sometimes isn't exact; and real life often trumps any models thney might be using to make such claims. Itm just goes to show how little we honestly know for certain.

Considering how they abandoned ship and had a few foolish, yet brave, individuals stay behind to go down trying, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near there.
