Can't Get Through White Loading Screen

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
This past weekend through today, I can't even get the game to start. Can't even connect. I click my STO icon. The white screen comes up saying "Loading. Please wait." Then nothing happens. I submitted a ticket but have not gotten a response. Anyone else having or had this problem? How long does it typically take Cryptic to fix it? Do they give us free days on my account since I'm paying for nothing at the moment?

Has it ever worked before? Have you tried using Safe Mode? Attempted a force verify? Please post a DXDIAG report with your hardware info.

have you rechecked you IE browser that it is not set to work offline, or has its internet options communications lan setting set to use a proxy?(launcher uses MSHTML)

did you recheck your antivirus and firewall that they have not reflagged the patched program as new needing reauthorization to access the net?

A lot of that is gibberish to me. I didn't see any issues with my firewall and a windows connectivity diagnostic showed no issues. I will recheck though. All I can really say is I am not currently having any connection issues with internet or xbox live which both use the same connection.

I've never had this issue before. Typically, I click the STO icon, the login screen pops up, within a second it goes from white to the main login screen where updates are downloaded. I checked my connections and saw no issues. Heck, I even tried disabling the firewall. Support wants me to download a diagnostic program from Champions Online but failed to provide a proper link.

Somehow, it's fixed. I ran the diagnostic tool and then I was able to login. I don't know why, that shouldn't have made a difference. Also, my game files are saved in an SDO file, not a champions online file.

The problem popped up again and the team has ignored the information I provided. When I told them I need to speak with a person to work this out because they are not helping me resolve the issue, they apologized and wished me well without any further assistance. If customer support doesn't have the ability to "support" and their only response to connectivity problems is "Your firewall is blocking the program" despite being told all firewalls and virus protection software is disabled and no other program is experiencing an issue then Cryptic may want to clean house.

Windows 7 is declaring STO incompatible, no other programs are having issues and STO is treating me like an idiot and declaring it a firewall issue repeatedly, so I guess I'm done with STO and Cryptic and will instead use the time I would like to spend playing STO discouraging prospective players from investing in a game that will fail without any help from the supplier.

I must cancel my account since I can't get in and no one in the company and none of my tech friends can find an issue.

I hope the Infinite Space developers respect their clients better.

I had the same problem. Tried the internet options suggestion changing the LAN settings to use a proxy server. Instantly the launcher brought me to the log-on window.

I just noticed your thread, lol.

My fix was different. I ran a systems check to correct any corrupted Windows files by

    pressing [windows button] + 7
    sfc /scannow
    [enter]

It appears this diagnostic and correction fixed my compatibility problem.

Thanks for nothing, customer support. It wasn't my firewall like I said. If those guys are working for free they are being paid too much.
