Full computer crash while running application iDisplay and STO at same time

Technical issue section:

When I start the game "Star Trek Online" while iDesktop is running my entire computer crashes as soon as I hit the "engage" button to log in. If I have iDesktop closed when I start the game then launch the program I don't crash, but instead of displaying the game I just get a black screen [edit: music still playing in background]. I'm also mentioning the issue to them. Is this an application specific incompatibility or does this program not play nice with a secondary display at all?

Reason I'm trying this section... in case anyone knows of a workable alternative.

The reason I am trying this is because I keep losing my mouse. I've tried replacing textures with the large gold mouse and it helped tremendously, I got tired of stretching my fingers for keybinds, I've tried the Tap Play MMO application for iPad and it works well - just not how I would like (future editions should be user configurable though).

What would be best (for me) is to have the game display on primary monitor, and move the interactive HUD elements (primarily the combat powers section) to a secondary display (my iPad) where I can simply tap what I want to fire off.

Device iPad 1
iOS 4.3
Windows 7 Home Premium
iDisplay 1.3 (shapeservices.com)

I checked for that, and it's not a temp issue, but thank you for the suggestion. The temperature is well within tolerances and I can Alt+Tab and immediately use other applications on the dual screens, which means that something else in STO is causing the issue.

I've had similar things happen with certain DVD player programs where if you try to play them on anything other than the primary monitor or take a screenshot it just shows black as a security measure (found that out from that application's customer service). DirectX on WinXP also sometimes gave this issue, but this is the first time I've encountered it on Win 7.

[Update: thinking about WinXP had me just try another DirectX game (I've only been playing STO for the past year and a quarter)... I duplicated the issue on World of Warcraft. Issue apparently has nothing to do with STO but rather iDisplay and DirextX, I'll followup with them on that discovery]
