So basically, even though Jack is a big Klingon Fan, we wont' see any increase in the amount of Klingon content generated over the next year than we did over the last year and we'll continue to have thread about Klingon content ignored and/or locked even though many of them include some good ideas. In other words, players of the Klingon faction will continue to be told to go to the back of the bus.
We've already told you guys what's coming up next for the KDF. Season 4 is going to bring some more much needed improvements for them. All you need to do to find this is look at the latest Ask Cryptic. However, since you don't seem to follow that, I'll make it easy for you:
21. MinosOne - Q: I understand that one of the goals of Season 4 is to allow players to start from level one as a Klingon player. What additions to Klingon game-play can be expected once this occurs (such as additional Klingon missions, playable races, costumes, etc.)?
A: We will be looking at all the missions available to the KDF and looking for gaps that need episodes to help players have a smooth level progression. This may even include re-leveling some existing content to make leveling up smoother. As far as new races, we really want to focus on ensuring the existing ones we have are fully fleshed out and have a lot of good customization options first. That is one of the reasons we have been working updating the Gorn and making some basic costume changes across the board. Some of these changes will allow us to add in customization options that have been missing.
On top of that, you'll soon be able to make a Klingon from the start, rather than requiring 6 levels of Starfleet gameplay. More content is being added for the KDF all the time, and more is still being planned, and worked on.

And don't forget the Klingon Tutorial that was mentioned as well, that 's reason enough to create a Klingon, to start from the beginning and not to have to allocate a load of skills straight away.
stormy, as for following ask cryptic, yes we do. alot of the answers were wrong. it is understandable because the answers were published the same day that the decision to change the advanced escort to its own ship. but just for the record WE do follow ask cryptic very closely, there are a few who dont and obviously ask same questions over and over. if i was in your shoes i would just copy and paste or ignore the request. it isnt like every thread gets answered.
i do have a question for the topic of conversation- whom is replacing JACK? please dont say dstahl. he deserves it but we dont want him to leave us. sounds selfish i know but stormy, wishbone, and dstahl are great at dealing with the community and it is one of the main thing i personally and alot of people enjoy about the game. it is unique to have devs that interact with the public as much as you people do. i know other devs do also but the ones i mentioned are the most. im not forgetting about gozer and the rest.
DStahl, What Captain Kirk told Captain Picard has a lot of relevance here.
Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there, you can make a difference

I do follow the "Ask Cryptic" articles and even posted a thread asking for clarification of those answers here Requesting Clarification of Latest "Ask Cryptic" Answers shortly after it was posted.. Yet, is seems the staff continues to ignore everything in the Klingon forums, otherwise you would have already known about that thread and certainly wouldn't have made the comment where you assume I didn't read the "Ask Cryptic" article.
Congrats to Jack. I for one hope that this new position does means there will be at least some changes to the way things are done.
I remember listening to an interview with him back in the early days just after STO had launched and whilt i cant remember what he said, I remember coming away from it with the destinct impression that his primary interest was Champions and that wasnt really interested in STO and its subscribers.
Im sure that its probably not the case, but I remember that was my feeling.
UPDATE: Ive found the interview, appears it cant be downloaded anymore, or at least I cant download it, Cryptics news article about it is here.
I also found the issue I had a problem with, I even made a post about it on that news article thread.
In the interview he states that Star Wars Galaxies actually got BETTER towards the end. (post nge) that at the time and if its still the case now, worrys me a hell of a lot.
SWG was an amazing game until the NGE hit and anyone saying the NGE was a positive move causes me concern, more so now that that person is in charge of STO!!!!
As a almost 7 year "vet" of SWG, I know exactly where you are coming from here and in your last sentance. However, I just closed my 4 SWG accounts to come over here full time and I have to admit that the current version of NGE is better than what NGE launched with. Got to remeber that when NGE launched, players couldn't even move. Anything would be better than that. It is better than pre-CU or even CU? That's a matter of opinion and anyone can easily tell what the community thinks/thought via the server populations of then and now. Guesstimates of population of even CU was 300K. Current best guesstimates are 10K players
Even their current version of "better" NGE came with a bunch of mistakes there also. The Chapter 6 Combat Downgrade (C6CD) was yet another mistake that decreased the sub numbers.
I wouldn't read too much into Jack's statement of NGE being better than it was. NGE did get better, after a long, long time. No where as near as good as the befores, but it did get better. When I read your post, it brought back a memory of "Star Trek Babies, Online". The make fun of SWG and NGE that Cryptic did for a April Fools joke before even launch of STO. I believe, just by that action, that Cryptic (and Jack) learned something from SOE's NGE. It would seem ev1 learned something except SOE.

too be honest storm, when cryptic isn't specific about something, it usually means we are about to be disapointed. Not all the time, but often.
"More content is being added for the kdf all the time" is not an accurate statement.
By now, you should have the KDF gameplay for seasaon 4 planned out.
Could you throw us a bone and at least stop these types of comments for the near future by telling us other than the 6 levels of gameplay, and redoing the old episodes, and upcoming gorn content what "more is still being planned, and worked on"?
THe reason I say this is, starting as a kdf is great. But we already had those 6 levels. How has cryptic fixed the levelling to LG?
Are we getting a diplomacy like system?
The KDF really needs a bone.

That seems to be an exaggeration, dont you think? More content is being added, sure. All the time? Um...

This *is* on topic, sir. Emmert is the only one who can approve additional hirings to the STO Team. Since you're a small studio and can only do so much, more hires or even temporary hires could be used to quickly fill the content gaps and make the KDF a full faction.
I think being able to create a KDF character from the start will be a great thing. You will certainly get more customers to try the faction. And you will certainly have more customers baffled at the lack of content.
Jack Emmert is now the man to see about making the STO Team larger and more capable of delivering the KDF content players have been asking for since beta.
