Or give us a choice witch Pover is Allowed To use, before the Mach starts, so i chan choose not to fight in an PVP mach with Scorpions, or in on with CTbM.
Or give these F..ing Mines an shorter timer till self destruktion, some People try to win the Game due Spawn 20 or more mines, last open PVP was not Playable due Endles Mines. Tree Cruiser swawnd endles Mines, idiots, the time the Klings atact the FPS where down 5 or 6..
No words needet
I dont have problems with the Mines themselfs, i have a problem with the People on the Bridge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ugh, pvp is so terrible right now, getting stopped for invisible reasons every 5 seconds is not a good time
like, seriously?
I run Attack Pattern Omega I and Attack Pattern Omega III for my Fleet Escort at Vice Admiral level. Omega allows me to break free from any sort of hold.
I also use HY I, II, and III along with Target Shields and Target Weapons. I also use Engineering Team, Science Team, Emergency Power to Shields, and Hazard Emitters. That's my basic load-out for my Tactical Fleet Escort Vice Admiral.
We don't actually need a seperate server for that. At least not in the WoW/DDO type server way.
I noticed that in the Colisum, my Tactical Captain was not abl to beam in a Security team. That made sense story-wise, but more impotantly, it means Cryptic now has the tech to block certian powrs.
Just block Tractor Beam Mines and Scorpion Fighters in PvP maps and have people all the fun they can get out of them in PvE.
I thought the same thing. I know they have a way that they can change the power to work in pve 1 way and pvp in another. simple if...then statement and plenty of other MMO's have done this.
So, between all these threads on the topic of the new mines in PvP, we have hundreds of responses, and thousands (tens of thousands perhaps?) of views, and not one single Dev comment on the topic? I'm really curious about what the Devs are thinking about this, and I'd like to see at least one of them clue us in on their thoughts.

Honestly, I think the devs spoke volumes regarding PvP in their slow to fix, ignoring the posts, closing posts, and releasing items that only add to the plight that is PvP NPC spam. I can also bet that it doesn't speak very well to have so many people give them so many negative reviews for failing to address said issues in a thoughtful, reflective, forward thinking, meaningful and timely fashion.

That is how it seems to me also. I hope you're wrong, of course, because PvP is the aspect of this game that I enjoy the most. And that's why I want to hear from them, because their silence is disconcerting and the longer it goes on, the more it looks like you are right . . .
I'm just hoping that their silence can be at least partially explained by the fact that it's a weekend. (And I optimistically picture some PvP-loving Dev yelling at some poor terrified programmer for inventing the CTB mines. )

Don't get me wrong, I've given them the benefit of a doubt for a long time, but the fact that they dared give the tractor mines as a reward set me off. With all that's wrong with PvP, I thought, why on God's green Earth would they do something as completely tone deaf as THIS?!?

Combine that with the scorpion fighters, and they gave everyone two huge spam items in one featured series. Astounding.

I think "tone deaf" is the right phrase. That's what bothers me about the mines; they didn't seem to take into account that they would be coming on the heels of the fighter, both of which made one of the annoying aspects of PVP even more annoying. It seems to me that the PVP community has been pretty vocal about the annoyance (even though not all members of the community have been mature about expressing their feelings).
A better targeting UI would help a lot.
What would people think of a hard cap on the number of NPC objects that could be deployed by any one player ship at any one time. As long as the cap was high enough to allow for carriers' fighters would that help?
it would however seem like the right thing to do is offer this in the c-store or make it a craft item....
not everyone or every build is going to have FAW, SF, PH, and the like. to force others to take skills they dont like, or prefer not to use, seems a bit odd. so adding the turret in a form others can get it seems a likely resolution to most cases...
(FYI - i like them, and i use them to my advantage - more so in the breen series...i find it fun to tractor them as often as they did me before this came out.)
Some one said the PVP people are mad why? they dont really effect the game that much in pvp.
people dont get it.. this game is changing all the time for the better I might add.
Just wait till they revamp the ground game all you people running space heavy toons are going to be in for a shocker.
for example just go count how many people use pure aliens in pvp or joined trills. its gotten crazy. its almost like cookie cutter pvp and klingons have less of a reason to whine they can spam more yard trash then the feds by far makes them very hard to beat.
your better players will always be blanced people that can do it all not your one trick poneys.
I'm glad to see the good changes keep up the good work dev team.
anyway enjoy the whine btw I'm a pvper ...Tac escort im 310 and 100 in my last 40 matches and i only do pug group most the time I'm never grouped.
You aren't a PvPer. Real PvPers can tell who the "fake PvPers" are because they say ridiculous things like that.
As for the thread, I'm thinking more and more that the answer is to block scorpion fighters and tractor mines from PvP altogether. Let the PvErs have their stuff, but don't let it ruin our PvP.
WOW, is this me hearing alot of complaints, jess people. i guess many of you dont want to use your brain but just go pew pew pew.
Why is it that 97% of these post are complaints and no real solutions. Why is it that many of you do not come to the table with solutions but dozens of complaints about of this is broken and that is broken.
simple solutions babies
1 fire at will I, ensign power
2. polarize the hull I, ensign power
3. emergency power to dampers I, Lt power
4. eject warp plasma I, Lt power
5. lanch some mines of your own
6. photonic shockwave 1 Lt skill
see what i just did. now its up to you so call captains to adapt and over come circumstances. Use that brain god gave you to figure solutions.
As for the thread, I'm thinking more and more that the answer is to block scorpion fighters and tractor mines from PvP altogether. Let the PvErs have their stuff, but don't let it ruin our PvP.
Hmmm person in glass house should not throw bricks. The statement from above can very well be considered a non pvp statement. PVPers adapt to situations and push forward. They use their brains to come up with sound solutions.
I for one think the STF scenarios should be pvp sections. more room more soultions. space is not small.
I don't mind the mines at all. Escorts, with high DPS and crit seem to be the major deal now in PVP. The mines might make crusiers a little bit more advantages.
Perma hold is not a thing I relish either. But, it does apply some strategy instead of just raw DPS being the winner. The option is hit "tab" alot to clear the mines. Easily taken down.
Couse, I'm play a tac in a crusier so I guess I would like them.
Having played PVP all weekend on all 3 of my characters (Tac, Eng, Sci) I can't say I have any trouble with the mines, even though everyone and their mother has them. I even played on my Sci and Tac Klingons and sure I got tractor beamed and what not but nothing I couldn't get out of. To be totally honest I think it adds a little something us cruiser captains can use to defend ourselves against all the hit and run Defiants. People complain about having to use PH, or Battle Patern, but what about forcing all the cruiser captains to use RSP to avoid the heavy alpha stikes? No one complained then, people just adapted. I figure the same will happen here.
Personally I could care less if the mines are there or not. I'll adapt and make it work.

lmao...way to judge someone you know not...i guess your a real pvp'r then?
refrain from slotting people where you "think" they should go in the future. not every pvp'r pvp's the way you do, nor may have the same time put into it.
for your second sentence...meh...if it appeases your "real" pvp'rs then fine...however, i must say this:
real pvp'rs learn to adapt and find countermeasures to offensive tactics...so...are you a real pvp'r?
WOW, is this me hearing alot of complaints, jess people. i guess many of you dont want to use your brain but just go pew pew pew. /snip
This coming from UFP fleet. Whom I've seen trying to PvP and always, *always* failing horrible at it. Again, this highlights the fact that we have actual good PvPers on one side, and PvErs and 'casual' (emblem hunting) PvPers on the other.
The good PvPers know exactly what to do to succeed, much better than folks like you do, and the only thing that it involves is outspaming the enemy.
I could make a team where everyone runs two tractor mine weapons and equips two versions of scramble so that enemy mine layers end up laying mines hostile to themselves, and I could roll people all day, but I would feel lame doing so. So would any other PvP fleet.
Your lack of PvP knowledge is extremely telling since so much of your advice is plainly bad.
Amongst real PvPers it's common knowledge that Snix is changing Faw to be less of an AOE attack, with it only being able to hit one other thing besides the current target as opposed to randomly firing at every target in arc.
Aux2ID doesn't even effect tractor beams
Tractor beam range = 5km. PSW range = 3km. And it's a Lt. Cmdr skill, not Lt. as you seem to think. Fail.
But besides that, equipping a few alternative skills and doing business as usual is only going to work when there is a small number of people using the mines. Against a team that is all spamming mines the volume of spam is going to be too high for any effective counter besides a TRIBBLE load of scramble sensors. Basically, in order to succeed now, you have to participate in the spam, whether it be scramble spam, tractor mine spam, or both. Veteran PvPers know this, but do not want to do this because it makes the game incredibly unfun for everyone involved, and the game ends up being more about what spam you have equipped and not about skill or teamwork.
Really, if you aren't a serious PvPer I don't understand why you would post here and argue with people who are. The lot of you seem very arrogant. I wouldn't lecture hardcore PvErs about how to do STFs.
did some pvp again today, must say the problem wasn't to bad, with the ammount of npc spam most of the mines tractor some npc thingy, beside tha the scorpion fighters are great against them they also saved my but agianst some of those high yield plasma torps

I for one think the STF scenarios should be pvp sections. more room more soultions. space is not small.
Here is my next power suggestion that has easy counters:
Into the Hive, the next STF, will give a new mission reward - Liberated Borg Subspace Transceiver
Once every 5 minutes, you can call a Liberated Borg Cube to your aid.
So, now, in every match, people will be gating in Borg Cubes, with Tractor Beams, High Yield Plasma Torpedoes and shield Neutralizers - just as we know and love them.
No problem, you say - just focus your fire, load up Beam Overload and Cannon Rapid Fire, and the cube goes away.
But... When will you have time to target one of your enemies, between being borg-tractored, shield neutralized, evading high yield torpedoes, and all that?
Or, let's go another direction. Let's say Healing Powers effectiveness gets doubled.
No problem, you say - just focus your fire, load up all the burst boosting skills and shockwaves to keep people from healing.
But... We already do that right now. And there are still some people you can have a hard time killing that way. (In fact, there are teams that are virtually unbeatable, at least by the majority of groups.)
That's what the problem is - at some point, you just cannot do it all - handle the spam _and_ kill your enemy. At that point, the game balance breaks down.
Tractor Beams are not just targeting spam as well. They are also additional, strong crowd control. And some of the spam counters actually do not work that well - the mine is cloaked. You can only react to it if has already tractored you.
lmao...way to judge someone you know not...i guess your a real pvp'r then?
Real PvPers team up. Simple as that. When you do nothing but PvP you get to know who the vast majority of good PvPers are very fast. Of course, some good PvPers might slip through the cracks, but someone who does not team is not one of those.
WOW, is this me hearing alot of complaints, jess people. i guess many of you dont want to use your brain but just go pew pew pew.

Please read through the thread. Your oh so clever suggestions have already been discussed and dismissed. I will, however, go through your list again so hopefully people will get the point this time.
1) FAW won't hit cloaked targets.
2) Polarize Hull: 15 seconds up, 45 second recharge. That's a 1/3 up time.
3) Most ships only have access to a single Lt Eng slot which is vital for defense.
4) False. Eject Warp Plasma is a LtC power, which only Cruisers/Nebula/D'Kyr have access to. And of those ships, none are nearly maneuverable enough to coat the entire battle zone to eliminate even a significant portion of the miens.
5) Counter spam with more spam? Hardly a viable solution.
6) Again, false. PSW is an LtC skill. Also, PSW has a 3KM range whereas a Tractor's range is 5KM. You can be stuck in a tractor and PSW away to your heart's content, but those extra 2KM are going to keep the Tractor Mines safe.
Please, don't call us complainers and cry babies when we're discussed your "solutions" are your post is full of false information.
The mines are there, live with it now. The vast majority of people have no problem with.
The problem is solved.
With a team, Mines are not a pbs. PVP its a team work

as do you...dont knock other players as you know nothing about them...let alone point to a specific fleet in game on these basic forums...(first paragraph)
some people may be younger, older, new, etc...maybe they are trying to learn and just cant grasp it yet...maybe they just enjoy doing what they do and how they do it...
maybe, just maybe, they enjoy playing as a fleet regardless of pvp level or experience...
maybe you get the lot of younger kids trying to just have fun and dont care. all they want is to pew pew things before bedtime...maybe.
i dont mind you arguing semantics of a real pvp'r (as you call them) vs a casual pvp'r, but you stepped over the line on this post...
Wow, how many of these discussions are there? Escorts on both sides are going to have to change tactics making it harder for the decloak instant pops. Pvpers you wanted more people in PVP right, if pugs might stand a chance and have fun then they will play.
LOL, I don't think there is a line to some of the more unique uber PVPer's The main issue is Tac's can't do their attack runs so easy and clean now, unless they lower their DPS or change their skills out.
The mines are there, live with it now. The vast majority of people have no problem with.
The problem is solved.
With a team, Mines are not a pbs. PVP its a team work
The mines are here, I will however fight to have them altered, just like the Feds did to reduce pet spam from KDF Carriers, i'll fight to have this reduced too. Live with it.
The vast majority of PvPers DO have a MAJOR problem with them.
The problem has been identified by us, we are bringing it to the attention of the devs who will solve it.
With a team Mines are more of a problem because there are more of them!

LOL, I don't think there is a line to some of the more unique uber PVPer's The main issue is Tac's can't do their attack runs so easy and clean now, unless they lower their DPS or change their skills out.
