The cloaked mines are not perfect, but they are interesting. And not a pbs for a real team, not for alone kikou players...
At least, that balance with all the bad Pvps who abuse cloak ...
For best PVP, it would also remove the cloak of PVP sessions. That way, players can really compete with each other without taking it for what they are not ...
Soon comes the multi-vector ...
A Sci on board + holo Fleet = 6 ships xD
From here I can hear the Pvps screaming off the NERF !

If the cloak is gone then buff our hulls to make it even.
I only use 1 ship that cloaks on my Klingons anyway, & once the battles joined, i rarely recloak.
& I for one facepalmed the second i first heard of MVAM.
I was in an Arena PvP match not thirty minutes ago. Two VERY vocal forum users here were on the opposing team.
They know who they are.
Instead of choosing to communicate and say, "Hey Feds, we're proving a point here with all these spam mines, don't be mad and help us out.", they chose to spawn camp us, dropping tons of mines and at least one of them waiting behind our gate. Needless to say, we did not get a single kill.
I know you want to prove a point...but you did so at the cost of driving two people permanently away from PvP...two that I was escorting and showing them how fun PvP can be.
.
Point of Order;
This is not a KDF or a Fed only situation, spawncamping.
Both sides do it equally as often in pvp.
At least, that balance with all the bad Pvps who abuse cloak ...

Abuse how?
Cloaking is only abused as a means to griefing, which is to play the waiting game to drive the other team out of a match. Something I do not approve of in pvp. Fight or get out of the arena.
Otherwise cloaking is a tool and nothing more. Its niether unbalancing or over-powered in any aspect.
I suggest you ask your fellow pvpers on tips on how to overcome the advantage of cloaking and stop resting your beliefs in its removal from the game to satiate your feelings of being abused and balance.
I thought only RZR did that, & the good players left that fleet because they knew it was lame.
EDIT-
& Roach, other than in Ker'rat, i've been spawncamped by feds like 3 times, because Klingons MOVE AWAY FROM THE SPAWN EVERY SINGLE TIME.
I'm not saying it doesn't ever happen, but it doesn't happen to any team I'm on.

You do pvp sometimes ?
Just a tool ? or I do what I want as I want when I want ?
You can run loose through the cloak and not be destroyed. After, it is not called a good Pvp. It's a big joke.
Or just to finish destroying a target damaged and cloak just after... Wo man u'r too good lol
Seriously,
You seriously believe that a real team with 5 people will drop all its mines in the same place... XD
You take us for melons ?
They are normally used at strategic locations.
You're always trying to complain. In addition, it is always the same group and not many of you, that's the worst.
After that, you would like to see more players to pvp with your rules.
This joke

If a real team consists of 5 ships on the same team then yes even before the tractor mines me and 2 fleeties went in to an arena against klingons and 4 of the 5 on the klingon side was spamming fighters, carrier spam, mines galore plus their PF and FS before we fired one shot. it went from a 5 v 5 to 5 v 50 in a matter of seconds.
There is no strategic locations in an arena except spawn points.
Just a tool ? or I do what I want as I want when I want ?
A tool. Much like MVAM will be a tool. Much like launching pets is a tool.

hahahahahahahahaha. Running has very little to do with cloaking and more to do with power set to engines, PH, BFI and EVM. Cloaking in comabt against live opponents is a death sentence as it lowers your shields and leaves you defenseless to what ever unresolved attacks may be incomming.
Or just to finish destroying a target damaged and cloak just after... Wo man u'r too good lol
What? You never saw a BoP in the movies/shows attack then cloak as it veered away to reposition to attack again? Are we too signal our intentions now in advance to give you ample time to decide what you may do as a response.
Wo man. Please work on your hidden insults , as they lack bite and sting.
Roach, other than in Ker'rat, i've been spawncamped by feds like 3 times.
Happened to me several times the other day in more than one CnH match. It happens, everybody does it at one time or another in pvp. Intentionally or by accident.
Thats all I'm saying.

Oh yes, I forgot about Legends of Star Trek, you got caught in one of their turret killing sprees huh?
Yeah, they've got me There too:o
For some reason ( PTSD?) I forgot about those guys In C&H.
I meant in arenas. My bad.

It was still fun. I spent my time trying to kill BobTheYak and do the best we could against a superior teamed force that knew how to overlap thier abilities to maximum effect.
I gave it no more worries than any other day and went for the fun.
I've always used mines in PvP (Plasma just for the possible DOT to annoy the enemy whether on my Fed of KDF toon.) Now I know many more people are using mines just because these Tractor mines are the new shiney and people are still trying to develop strategies (although I do think iy was a mistake to give these type of mines to players in both PvP or PvE).
That said, I wonder how pwople would feel if there was an optiion (or power if need) be that would just allow 'sensors' to target the nearest Capital' (ie not a fighter or mine, but BoPs from a carrier would still be considered a Capital ship). I say this because I think what PvPers in general object most to is the fact that these can be used as 'smoke screens' (and that's not an explot imo; BUT by the same token, I don't see wht 2th century targeting sensors couldn't be set to pick a Capital ship out of 'the crowd' if so configured.)
Allow something like this; and /or a mode where a turret or point defense can be set - at owners discretion to auto target and autofire on mines/fighters. Trade off, you loose the DPS as it WOULDN'T fire at anything else is such a config; but it would be a valid option (and leave PvP players with adecision if they wanted to use a turrent iin such a way) as a way to combat mine and fighter spam, and level the playing field a bit.

LOL, yeah, i usually go after Bob or Goose when i get caught in that mess, but yeah, It really didn't bug me either.
& Armsman, Your idea is pretty good.
1: On screen clutter
2: Inability to target
3: UI lag
4: FPS lag
While not everyone experiences each issue, some of us experience a few. I personally experience every one of the issues above when significant spam is used.
As such, while a targeting improvement will help, it only resolves issue 2, and not the other 3. It is the production of the spam in the first place that is the real issue.

Mines is a tool, no mines, no fighters, no cloak. Deal ?

Each time in PVP I see players who flee quickly to activate the cloak to avoid death and run away very very very very far. (ok it's a tool). If u can survive without a cloak, ok, good !
Please work on your hidden insults , as they lack bite and sting.
Already, I've never insulted.
Then if you take it very badly, is that perhaps you have a lot to blame yourself...
PVP is too fun with people who think they are the best of the best xD
I have no blame to lay and no ego to abuse and I apoligise for your misspeling that led me to think hidden insult. The phrase is "Woah, Man".
I pvp for the fun and nothing more and fall firmly in the middle as far as skill goes.
Cloaking is a tool and running when one is about to die to get the chance to recoup and rebuff is the biggest tool of the BoP or any escort. If I wanted a different style of combat I would play a Cruiser, which gives up some measure of Damage output for survivability or a SciVessel.
