So one day my Tactical will call upon the wrath of MAHO...Military Assault Horta Operations.:D

that sounds an awfull lot like Targ breeding.... shouldn't that have been exclusive to KDF because they can't realy use tribbles?
Or will the targ breeding be 10 times that what the Horta breeding is? then it would be kinda fair again.

    *Double-take*

    Horta breeding minigame?!?!

I thought that Horta only bred once per 1000 years or somesuch... but I do find the prospect of blobs of lava doing the "Horizontal Bop" to be "Fascinating" </Spock Impression>

sorry - this is true. I have been working on dailies but I'm running behind schedule (since I don't really have all the time in the world to make content - but I've set a bad precedence by adding dailies each series).

I got about 90% done with the shuttle crafting daily on Friday so I'm hopeful that will be in soon.

I'm also working on a Horta Crafting repeatable mission, as well as some additional melee weapon crafting missions. Not firm eta - but I will get them posted as soon as I can.

Is the running behind schedule due to other things being worked on that are coming in the future? If so, since the dailies are tied to series 3, how does something that hasnt happened yet take priority over something that current?

I'm sure those will be fun, but please tell me we'll have the "normal" patrol type dailies too.

ooh crafting crafting and crafting! Love it. Take your time and get em done right. A few days or so won't kill any of us. I really hope the crafting dailies are not too grindy and worth the wait. I love crafting quests, when they're done well.

Frankly, I'd support dailies being released on "off" Saturdays. I think some of the old dailies got overlooked because they came out during a series and saving these for the weeks following a featured series would help build up the expectation of something new every week, even if only a rerun or a batch of Foundry spotlights one week.

Horta crafting? Really? How about getting rid of the mines?

I think the addition of dailies at the end of each series is awesome and adds a little bit of persistence to the that area as opposed to being these one hit wonder amusement park rides. The Deferi sector dailies are pretty neat and there's been some variety to them added in to make sure they don't get stale too quickly. But I'm left with a feeling that there wasn't necessarily an ultimate happy ending to the problems in the Deferi sector since there are actions I can take in that sector to assist.

This is really only the first step though in what should be making the universe a living entity. Perhaps you guys already have plans for revisiting the Deferi Sector in another series of episodes, but I'd like to know what's next for the Deferi Sector. Same with our Reman-Romulan conflict at some point in the future.

I hope the melee crafting daily is some kind of arena combat.

I think my preference would be if we went to a holodeck and it dropped us in a fenced in version of Vulcan or the existing Colosseum map.

I can see that being a Kingdom Hearts-kind of challenge map.

    Hort-Zhu!!

    :p

When I say Kingdom Hearts, I'm referring specifically to their gladiator challenges where you fight waves of trash followed by bosses. You generally play until you die, then you get an award for whatever difficulty level you capped off at. This gets you better weapons which, in turn, helps you progress further the next time you play.

And I'd actually like this as an endlessly repeatable mission but maybe with an extra bonus the first time you do it each day.

I hope that's a joke. If it's not... tell me now so I can go ahead cancel my sub. OR give me Vulcan crafting so I can have a different type of Vulcan which can be used as an attack pet. "Sit, Speelk, sit! Good Vulcan."

    AWESOME! :D

After I rematerialized solo in CTC and saw the firefights I was wishing my horta was an attack pet. A mine thalaron mine sweeping horta would be fantastic. It's been mentioned elsewhere, a "nursery" on the ship for tribble/horta raising would add nice functionality. Or you could add it to starbases to keep things social.

Thanks to the team for all the great work.

I really hope so .. because i like the new type of "patrol"-dailys Cryptic implemented after each series alot. And it would be not a shame if they create bigger maps with more enemies.

The Horta crafting game sounds fun, I can imagine the Horta may be an endangered species so what with their longevity and so few and far between the Federation decides to do some DNA crafting to help them along.

i loved the new featured episode series, but i couldnt find the daily missions like the other featured series had. i read something in the dev tracker about crafting missions, but i'm talking about the real combat type missions that the other featured series had. does anyone know where these are?

Um, no. You've got it backwards. You set a good precident by adding dalies each series. What will be a bad precedent is if you fail to add the normal type of dailies to this series and futures series.

Dstahl, I know that this guy seems to pick on you guys a bit much, but I agree here. I love the dailies that have come with featured series. I don't care if it's a couple of space battles to protect somebody or something small, it adds to the sector! Oh, and it gives me something else to do with my characters.

How do you craft a living thing. And why would I want to craft a non combat pet?

Awesome. Looking forward to see what you have in mind with the melee weapon crafting. Been rocking an uncommon Nausicaan sword and loving every minute of it.

You craft a living thing by breeding it. Anything you make in an MMO can be a crafting system, including abilities, pets, etc.

And the craftable Horta are COMBAT pets, as Stahl said already in this thread.

How long have you been playing MMOs? Do you have any idea how much a significant portion of MMO players love non-combat pets? I've held pretty much every duty you can hold in the mmo community across multiple games, one thing I have learned DO NOT come between gammer girls and their non-combat pets. I"m sure there are gammer guys who love them too. But man I have seen some terrible things happen when useless non-combat pets are denied to those who want them.

We all play for our own reasons and we all have our own goals. I have said it before and i will say it again. There is no right way to play a game. Believe me, there are a lot of folks out there who love their non-combat pets, and they will look poorly upon any attempt to exclude them from the game.

I dont get it. How is adding dailies with each featured episode series setting a bad precedence? People like these missions.
