They are very good as cannon fodder. Erm, it is canon that they should serve as... forward observers.

this will be the best use for em,
honestly not to pleased with this at all, a romulan BO would have fitted me more PR wise, but to be very honest a BO at all is just dull and uninspired.
another BO, man they must be really dieing with ideas that they had to go back to the breen idea and make a new BO for us...
I love the reman shield, which i think is going to be the best reward so far.
But really cryptic... give your heads a shake...
-20/20 for me on the special reward.
It seems like it was right from the beginning of the game, maybe even before release, when they talked about BOffs they talked about the opportunity to get unique BOffs from doing missions. This seems to have been the plan from the beginning. The only oddball thrown in was that it wasn't really workable to give us a Dividean BOff.
My slots are all filled as well. Think I'll hold onto him and sell him after the series is over. He'll likely be a tactical officer with the psy attack, which would be pretty cool on ground I suppose. But think of it like this, if you have your borg BO, your breen BO, and your Reman BO, you'll only have 1 "official" member of starfleet on your away team. Weird...
If you have the KA Borg, you have NONE. Well, your Amazon Borg could be in uniform or not.
I'd be satisfied with combadges for all, though, like I say.

I dunno; would have been cool to have a BO that could do psionic damage, and seems like an obvious racial trait would have been an innate defense buff on ground and space. Would also be neat to have a floating BOFF to follow you around as well, especially if he came with some of their nasty spammable holds.
Would nt it be cool if when we decomission are officers we can fire them out a torpedo pod and then lock fire at wil on them. This is the plan i have for my new officer.(poor chap)
I missed the breen BO back when it was given out, so I'm VERY happy to get a Reman.
And my crew looks like a clown exploded all over them anyways, with uniforms of all different star trek eras
and that one chick in borg getup. So bring on the uncustomizable Reman dude!
(or even better, I hope he's customizable like the amazon preorder borg lady, with his own uniform,
but you can put him into official KDF or starfleet pajamas should you so desire.)
So, this means on my main Character's ship I'll have a Photonic Sci Male BoF, a Orion Female Sci BoF, a Borg Male Sci BoF, a Liberated Female Eng, a breen um...(male?) Tac, and a reman...not sure of gender or class. Add to that my Ferengi Female eng and I see I might have a possible mutiny onmy hands...hmmm. SECURITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats a lost battle dude two Drones on your bridge no less, i bet assimilation is half done already
its a wonder your still in command of your ship hehe.

No doubt. I just think they couldn't get past the whole...it needs to suck your life force to exist thing.
I'm not sure what I think. I liked the Breen officer, since that made sense. And yes, having a Reman officer makes sense within this storyline but.. I dunno, feels a bit tacked on.
We'll have to wait and see, but I think I would have preferred something to match the shield - perhaps a unique ship weapon or something.
EDIT:
That sounded a bit ungrateful. I'm really not - I love and appreciate all the hard work the devs are doing. But we've already had a BO as a reward. I would have liked to have seen something really different.
I'm not shocked that's it's a Reman. I was hoping that it would be a Romulan since they now have these cool ridges that I can't find in the tailor but Reman was my second choice
Yeah, I still use my Breen... but only as a novelty. He doesn't really bring anything important to the battle. I like his little freezing visor beam, but other than that, meh.
The addition of a hideous Reman to my ranks doesn't sound terribly grand... however if he is just like those nasty Reman Psionic warriors... Ooooooo!!!
I would love to have an officer (no matter how ugly) that can do those nifty purple mental blasts, and split himself into 5 shadowy versions of himself. The first time I saw this ability was against the guy guarding the elevator in the 'Taris' mission. Back before the Romulans got reworked... this guy was the single most terrifying enemy I had ever faced. He always managed to eat right through all my BOs and save the tastiest morsel (me) for last. Sometimes, he would kill me 3 or 4 times before I could finally kill him.
Now THAT would make a nifty BO! I could forgive the ugliness and the fact I would lose a USEFUL BO if I could have a Reman that actually was more powerful than I was! LOL

So sad, almost a perfect run, yet to TRIBBLE it up on the series reward ! who came up with the idea of an other BO reward?! and yes like Dreadnought said its not that we hate your work but !! this is still a fail in my book. (reward wise)

totally forgot about that, Hmm well IF the reman can do that special attack and split him in a few more butt-ugly guys them i'll forgive you and see this as a "epic" reward, ... did i just made a 360 here on the reward ?! confused em i yeeees.
Are they slowly adding Romulans/Remans to be part of the federation, sure seems that way:
We have there rifles and hand guns.
We have there fighters that can be called upon to aid us.
We even now have there 'appearance' for our ships.
Now well have a Reman Boff.
When Romulan is ever added as a playeable faction i can see there players getting a little anoyed that we have so much stuff of theres lol , it seems a little weird.
Well, while it is cool to get a limited edition BO, I already have a full ship, so would have to remove one to use him now. I guess there are only so many things you can really get: console, shields, weapons, pet, Boff, shuttle, device, ship part. So it isn't really a shock this is what we get.
I think it's awesome that we're getting a Reman Boff for a special reward. I have no problem buying boff slots for cool races like the Breen and Remans. I'd be very happy if getting boffs for the series reward was a regular thing. I like having a diverse bridge crew. It's fun for me from a creative point of view because I like to create backstories for all my boffs. I just wish cryptic gave us more things to do with our boffs. I want them to feel more special.
I'm fine with a Reman boff. I hope he has some cool unique traits though. And to all that were wishing for a Romulan boff, that wouldn't work for Klingon players, think about it.
Can't say I'm thrilled at this prospect. I've got a good roster now, so he'll just sit in the "holding area" unless he (or she) has some particularly useful passive skills.
At least the series itself is pretty awesome and a more zen approach of "Its not the destination but the journey that counts" should ease my mediocre enthusiasm a little.
Still looking forward to the final episode, as I expect it should be rather climactic.
One of the biggest things in this series that bugged me was that there was no female Remans. Ever. It would have been cool to see female npcs wandering about in Frozen along with the resistance fighters, perhaps sitting in one of the side rooms cooking or something... >.>
While I do like that we're getting a cool boff, I kind of feel bad for fans of the upcoming Romulan playable faction. Reman boffs probably should have remained exclusive to the Romulan faction, IMO. It was one thing with the Klingon boffs for Federation players, that had a canonical reference. This is another thing entirely.

I thought that too. Especially when one of the NPCs specifically spoke of his wife in some of the flavor text.

Well, maybe their females are indistinguishable from their males by our standards. For all you know, Obseik could be female.

Thanks for the consideration. What is done, or rather will be done soon, cannot be undone. But it is good to know that the awareness exist, on some level.

I thought of you specifically while writing this, because I know you're a hard-core Romulan fan.
As someone that's almost as hardcore a Cardassian fan as you are a Romulan fan, I know I'd be highly dissapointed if they gave out a Cardassian boff to other factions. I feel for you Rommies.

What!? He attacked me for no reason. Lied to me by pretending to be friendly. And he has manipulated me from the very beginning. What makes you think he could be a female.....

Plus, I hope it was a slip-up that led to the information being posted on the calendar a day early (otherwise, way to blow the surprise guys).
I am already trying to figure out which member of my crew is being "promoted" to better things in order to make room for my mine rat.

it ain't a romulan !! ^^

I for one would love if you could replay the whole series and get multiples of the series reward.:D

Maybe this Reman officer will be the first Reman female we've seen. I hope so at least.
