Just because a Miranda fought agains the Borg at 359 doesnt mean that they were as powerful as the new ships. They certainly were not. They were simplay available and were upgraded enough to be effective in a large fleet engagement in support and with tactics. Old ships are not useless but they are most certainly not on par with modern ships. I thinks we need to keep this in mind.
Why? The Miranda fought against the Borg at 357 and against the Domnion. It is a ship in current service why would it not merit a T6 varient? I admit it is a short range ship and much softer then other ships but with the threats in the galaxy why would a ship currently in service not be retrofitted?
The biggest issue I have with making all ships T6 is that people think they will all have the same stats. They won't! A constitution will not be a soviergn. A saber will not be a Prometheus. Hull, turn and crew will all be different but that does not mean the ship can't DO anything.
Tiers should simply be unlock point...Congratulations you can now access ships from T2-5 but if you'd like your current vessel will level with you.
Give them weapons boffs and consoles but leave all other stats as is. I don't believe smaller ships should have the weapons a huge cruiser does though.
Considering that promotions beyond Vice Admiral are moving into the realm of Fleet Admiral etc.. I think any new ships should be more allong the lines of Command Ships, Carriers, Dreadnoughts etc..
Also I would like to see us being able to command our own flights which we can fill with varying existing ships rather than concentrate JUSt on solely commanding our own singular ship.
I think that many people forget that while Miranda-level ships, in canon, would certainly not be as powerful as higher-tiered ships, even though a person's Miranda could be leveled to, perhaps, a Tier 6 level, for role playing purposes, one could just say that that ship's captain (fleet admiral) and staff are experienced and efficient and make up the difference.
I think we should have many more customization options for when we reach Tier 6, as well as a few more new ships, like the Typhoon and Jupiter.

How about tier 6 is all cryptic original ships for this time frame.. right now we flying around in museum relics.
Sure let's have a trek game by taking out all of the Trek stuff
Canon ships first then if necessary make new ships that look like they belong in Trek. Better yet find a way to refit and upgrade the Canon ships. So we can keep flying proper Trek ships.
I guess my biggest wish would be some sort of single shot super cannon. Like what the Yamato, Macross and EAS Excaliber have. Naturaly all that power would have to have equally large penaltys so a 1 min charge time in which all ships power is transfered.and a equally long recovery time as all you're ships systems are drained. But such a weapon could give you a huge edge facing a over powered enemy, paticularly if you had allies to watch your back while you charged the weapon.

Keep in mind that gameplay at the Fleet Admiral level will include command of pets in tactical-style gameplay vis a vis Rainbow Six, from my interpretation of dstahl. Therefore, having an Akira-R in the mix would make sense.
Yep thats the one:) but Space Battleship Yamato/Star Blazers had the same idea....lol such a weapon would be a dice toss but it would be a extra card in your deck...'Time to toss the dice?' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ty-1zWsXFNs
1. New bigger and better ships ( some based around the Enterprise contest )
2. You can upgrade your low level ship by using the "console" system we see for the Retrofits, you can upgrade low level ships, but it comes at a price.
there are (i think) at least two canon instances of full Admirals retaining certain ("old") ships for personal use.
this is what i suggest for T6:
a new ship for each divison per faction meaning 6 new ships in all (for the "we want new ships" crowd)
but also
they add utopia planitia and the starfleet corp of engineers (and a klingon equivalent)
you can personally order (one of your existing) ships in for a refit at utopia planitia and have some control over what upgrades it gets depending on class (adding weapons slots, console slots, device slots, hull upgrades and unversal bridge officer slots to certain positions. stuff like that.)
upgrades will be limited somehow from a budget depending on ship (so no 4xuniversal BO commanders slot setups quite yet mmmkay) and may require some crafting mats supplied to the corp of engineers for certain changes.
additionally new rare ablity drops items could be added to the mix during inital ship refit (or possibly even slavaged from an existing ship) so for example you might be able to do something like get a Transwarp drive unit and build it into your refitted Sovereign.
in game i envisage this as a medium term project you would work on for a while (but not too long) pouring over blueprints etc and deciding on choices via a new utopia planitia corp of engineers UI element until you approve the final refit, then you have to go collect it a little while later after its done (but again not toooo long)
this would tie in nicely as a rewrad for hitting full Admiral and being something cool and new you could undertake both as a project and story in game.
the amount of times you would perhaps be able to do this would maybe be limited or restricted somehow (maybe a baseline maximum of 1-3 constructed ships) with the explanantion be this is a special dispensation and the expression of a full Admiral exercising the privileges of rank. its not "everyday" and like all privileges shouldn't be abused (that's right up until the ablity to custom build more refits hits the C-Store :P)
No not really. I dont see mirandas as Tier 5,6 , sorry i just dont. I think older ships like the miranda and constitution have their roles but they will never be on par with the newer ships even if they are retrofited. They are just not capable. Just because they fought at Wolf 359 doesnt make them equivalant to what we know as Tier 5 or 6 in the game. Every ship available had to be thrown at the borg.
For the record I am a huge fan of the TMP Constitution Class Refit but sadly its hayday is long passed. Its 2409 People!
All Hands..now hear this...this is not TOS online NOR is it TNG online!!!! Its Star Trek online in the year 2409 and its free to grow and change and new things are allowed to be added to the game/mythos even if they have not been seen before on screen. So it is not beholden to one persons overly simplistic view of "cannon".
Craft/Upgrade older T1-T5 ships to T6 standards (slots, hulls, weapons) (T2 standard cruiser with my old colors and variant parts would be nice) and take up no new slots
Craft/Upgrade older T1-T5 ships to T6 (Nimbus-class would look awsome as a Cruiser)
MORE Universal slots or some way to change BO slots (Sci Ship with Eng/Sci/Sci/Tac/Eng)
Read my lips. No more Ensign slots (Mostly Tac )
Sydney-class (USS Jenolan) as shuttle
Utopia Planitia is located on Mars so it would be a short time from ESD via ship, or access via shuttle-based shuttle on ESD or direct access on when entering Sol system by selecting "Enter Utopia Planitia" instead of "Enter Space Dock"
/ signed my suggestion was to have space BOs at the Fleet Admiral level so you could fly with escorts of your own Fleets and hand picked BOs and Captains. I think that is what the tier 6 ship is going to be saved for! Fleet Admirals
How about tier 6 is all cryptic original ships for this time frame.. right now we flying around in museum relics.
Oh hell no.
Classic ships and content are the only reason I play Star Trek Online. If it doesn't look like Star Trek, then what is the point?
We also need a way to disable all the hideous new particle effects from the various Borg, Aegis, etc sets, so the game looks like it is supposed to look, like Star trek.
I would think cryptic would have to have some way to make the current t-5 ships upgrade to T-6 their are alot of people that bought ships in C-Store like the galaxy X and the new Prometheus along with all the retro ships. Alot of customers would be upset to learn the that they threw away up to 20 dollars in the trash.I know I will be upset if the money I just spent for MVAM will be worthless when t-6 comes out. I dont want to have to spend more money again on another ship. they want to make ships T-6 make more powerful weapons and consoles thats the easy way like Mk XIV or something. I have no problem with new ships being intoduced but dont make the current end game ships worthless.

This!
I would however, like to see Cryptic own design Tier 6 ships,.
Yah know, in "All Good Things" Future Riker says that one of the advantages of being Admiral is choosing your own ship to be your flagship. I always assumed thats why the aged Galaxy had been retrofitted with advanced weaponry.
What about putting the lance, cloaking, additional fins, and such on lower tier ships? Maybe limiting it to teir 3 and higher?
Since this is a Wishlist, I would like to add my 2 cents.
1).- PLEASE make T6 ship look 25th century!
Yes we all would like to own a Ford Model T. a.k.a. NX1 but do you really want to drive that every day for everything.
2).- Please stop retrofiring lower tier ships to higher ones!
Yes as fleet admiral you can chose your ship but I tell you that if the US send a fleet to a war zone and the admiral arrived in the USS Pennsylvania, Ship of the Line (even if it is retrofit). Well.... just think about it.
3).- I want to be able to promote BO to Captains and assign them some of my other ships available to me in my inventory.
4).- Give T6 ships more HP, a weapon in the front and back of the ship and a Universal Console.

I vote for the exact opposite of everything he said.

Kinda like the Excalibur on B5:Crusade?
To my knowledge, that's only been speculation.
That sir, would be sweeeeeet

I boldy support the idea that the final Tier (Tier-6?) Simply be everything combined and fully custom; Mirandas to Typhoons.
If they take their design cues from the Star Cruiser, yes.
That ship looks very appropriate for the time period.
I'd also like the ability to upgrade my tier 1-5 ships though.
....and it would be a BIG red button all on it's own near too the side.
Love it, this would awesome... I don't want to lose my pretty Intrepid :P
