I'm buying White on day one. Love Pokemon games. Have since middle school when they first came out here.

I'm not the biggest patriot but I'm still looking forward to the very Native American / United States looking Braviary. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Braviary_%28Pok%C3%A9mon%29

Also I'm looking forward to the garbage bag Pokemon which is just so ridiculous I'm loving him. :p

I am hoping to get White version the day it comes out(along with the event Celebi at Gamestop) but I don't know if I can go yet. I've been a fan of Pokemon almost as long as I can remember.

I haven't gotten to learning all the names yet, but I really love Gigalith. I have a team planned of 7 Pokemon because I couldn't just choose 6. :p I also like Haxorus.

Pokemon became big in the US when I was about 8 or 9, so of course I like them. The latest one I bought was Sapphire. Don't have a DS, so I haven't bought any since then.

I got Soul Silver because I wanted to have the cool pedometer gadget! :D But I'm too lazy to walk enough, so I just mounted it on a box fan to make it accumulate steps.

I clipped mine to a curtain and aimed an air cleaner at it so the curtain would sway all day and night. :)

Sapphire was my first game. And I have to say that Swampert is the best Water-type I've ever seen. It has high offense and defense, excellent versatility, and every major Electric-type attack except for Thunder have no affect at all on Swampert.

As soon as I get one of the new Pokemon games, I'm migrating a Mudkip up to Platnum, then trading that over to whichever version I get as soon as I can, so that I can stay ahead of the game.

EDIT: Braviary also looks like it should be the next evolution of Swello. Same colors, same exact colors.

You're out of luck with Mudkip if you want to use it before you beat the game.

You cannot trade any older generation Pokemon to black and white until after you beat the game. Exceptions are the event Pokemon like Gamestop Celebi and the Legendary Beasts.
It kind of sucks. They seem to want to force you to use the new ones.

I'm pretty sure that's just if you want to migrate it from a GBA game, but again, I'm not totally sure. No-one really knows for sure what will happen. And if need be, it's a little underhanded, but by the time I get the game, there will probably be an Action Replay code to help me get around that barrier.

    Action Replay will work.

You can also trade someone who's already beaten the game who has older Pokemon. This must be from Black or White versions though.

Migrating from older versions is impossible if you haven't beaten then game yet except for the few exceptions.

So you do have options. I'd go with Action Replay. ;)

We know this because the game has been released early on accident in some stores and it's been out in Japan for a long while. The Japanese AR codes will probably work too.

    Resisting...urge...to make...race joke...

I'm not really racist. People say I'm one of the least racist people they know. But I make jokes about everything. Race is no different for me.

Yeah, but I'm not talking about migrating from one of the GBA games. I'm talking about trading from HeartGold/SoulSilver. Will that not work either, or am I going to have to break out the codes?

That won't work either. You have to cheat or get it from someone who's already beaten the game.

    http://www.serebii.net/blackwhite/pokeshifter.shtml

tl;dr version: From B/W you go to the PokeShifter, on your DS with D/P/HG/SS you go to download and download the pokeshifter to your DS, and then you transfer over the pokemon you want to, sort of like how Pal Park worked between the DS generation and the GBA generation.

Which is going to take forever by the way. I have my boxes full of nearly everything (I'm at about 430/493, and I always keep one of each stage of evolution).

I recently obtained every Pokemon from 4th Gen on down including preevolutions. Well, I had collected them all over the years and completed my Pokedex quite some time ago without cheating(unless you count trades where I cannot tell the legitimacy of certain Pokemon; not my fault!), but I realized I had gotten rid of some of my Pokemon and had to obtain some again.

PokeShifter is going to take forever, but it's a lot better than the old systems; thankfully we don't have to wait 24 hours in between transferring Pokemon..

That said, if anyone needs an egg from any Pokemon from 1st to 4th Gen(that can have eggs), I can get a few. :p Just don't expect me to hatch them.

The only ones I really need anyway are Jirachi and Shaymin.

I do believe I have extras of those, but I'd have to check. Of course, I really should be asleep so I can't check now. Heh.

I'm debating wheter or not to get Black/White given how SoulSilver kinda bored me. Up untill SS, I've got every version of the main Pokemon Games, starting with R/B/Y, Might eventually get HeartGold and both of the newer ones, but I'm not sure

I'm I've got a Jirachi and Shaymin somewhere on Pearl or Platinium. I'll double check when I get home this evening.

Clearly, if you owned Pokemon Red. The secret was to get level a Charizard and teach them dig. It's like cheating. :)

It's too time consuming trading for all the Pokemon. However it's not that hard since you can do it online these days. I just made a post at GameFAQs asking for the Gamestop event Celebi so I could start the Zorua event in White when I get it. It took me about an hour but all I had to trade for it was a Meowth. :)

Yellow Text probably isn't allowed to socialize with you on a Pokemon level. ;)

I got an Event Celebi ready for the Zorua event in my Pokemanz White. Wheeee!!!

Wait... so we can't even use normal trade to get old pokemon to the new game? AND NO HOLD ITEMS?!?

That's just going too far- how am I supposed to get the trade evolutions that way?

Just got Pokemon White version and three Celebi from Gamestop. I also took home a really spiffy cupcake.

Now to begin my journey. :D
