STOked Episode 72: Coliseum Review

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
The latest edition of STOked is available for your viewing/listening pleasure!
To keep the focus on the hottest topic this week, we jump STRAIGHT into Tactical View to review “Coliseum” – the latest mission in the Cloaked Intentions featured episode series. Due to continued inclement weather, this episode has Jeremy joining the show via Subspace communications!

After that, we take LIVE call-ins from our audience members to discuss their take on the latest weekly mission, plus their thoughts on the new open jacket uniforms.

As always, you can grab it over at Jupiter Broadcasting.

Don't forget to check out the LIVE recording of STOked on Jupiter Broadcasting Live on Saturdays at 1100 hours Pacific!

I liked the community feedback section, though there were some issues with the latency and people trying to talk over each other, maybe a buzzer system so you can buzz in a response? :) Otherwise as usual good stuff, even for a snow day :)

    listening now.

i am so bummed though that i did not get the amok time music. ive played this mission like 5 times and all i get is the standard music. i dont know why, it does not make much sense but i got nothing.

    god darn it.

i hope thats a bug and not some technical reason with my computer because i really want to hear that.

maybe do a force verify? You should get the Amok Time music pretty much right when you enter the arena for the first time. I had my music turned almost off so I missed when it really started, I just went aawww (redacted) and turned it up when I heard it very faintly.

Where were those consoles you were talking about. The ones that had info about iconians and such.

I like the multiple skype feed, any chance this could be a regular thing?

in the romulan base bit before you exit via the grate. there are 3 consoles. 2 of them provide extra info.

The math part of Coliseum was great i actually broke out my TI-86 for it!

Also, I loved the live panel that was pretty cool! Nice to put a face to some of the players!

I think instead of having the guests wing their questions I think it would better to have them prepared before hand. I also think that some kind of system is needed to prevent everyone from talking over one another. Other than that an enjoyable episode as always.

Loved the Episode, as usual. J-Man has my sympathies, also my jealousy (I want snow!!)

    Two issues:
    • You didn't even mention the various career-specific accolades or the team-necessary accolade.
    • The new feedback, while visually interesting, felt to me like it took the number of opinions you have access to down from dozens.. To six. The old way was a more sufficient sample size.

Oh, and the surprise moments at the end? Beautiful.

    Liked the episode.

I agree with Jeremy: got lost due to the map issue (and lots of people PM'ed me asking where to go once I figured it out).

Reach marker indicators need to be revised, if we're going to have these epic mission maps where full zoom out won't display them. Fairly substantial usability issue for most people finding the rocks to hide in (especially since there were several sets of rocks).

Tuning in now, wonder if you guys found it as epic as I did. This mission raised the bar, it was very well directed and really gave the 'stuck on an away mission feeling'

Great episode, well done even with Jeremy snowed in.:)

I agree with Katic about the live forum. It was alot of fun and nice to see, but it reduced the number of opinions to only 6 people (though they were all cool) and took a bit longer. Lol at the guy hiding from his boss at work:D

I tried so hard to catch it live but only got to see the shield being equipped. But the show was great as always just a bit over overlap cause of the skype but it was fun to see Jeremy visiting Andoria. Lol
