Great Rewards but I just couldn't bring myself to split up my Aegis Set.

Aegis is definetly better, makes one wish we could have appereance item slots for those ship parts that change our ship visuals so we can pick what we show and what stats we get.

Is there any chance of maybe having a SET for ship or ground related to mission replay or a new FE?

Perhaps each episode in the final three missions gives a piece of a set (or all 5 episodes) in the next FE...

    OR

Each FE upon replay gives a set piece as an optional reward and once you get all the parts you can craft the set into it's actual units...

That is exactly what I do not understand. If they(Cryptic)can make a tribble give your character an hour buff, why not do the same thing with a device that buffs your current equipped shield. New appearance for an hour, maybe some kind of passive buff along with it.

I tossed my shield into the bank. I can't see breaking up a set that provides real survival bonuses for green neon. If I could have applied that graphic to an existing shield, well then it would have been the first non consumable upgrade for my Sovereign since making level cap. The stagnation is taking a toll on my desire to play.

Wouldn't a Cosmetic slot, like LOTRO and EQII have, make more sense? >.> You just slot the item in the cosmetic slot, and the visual overrides what's in the primary slot; but the stats are not granted.

that would make me very happy it would be handy to separate the two once the set cosmetic has been unlocked and therefore available to a person.

damnd that looks even better than the stock defient, and what scematics?

In the room with the Thalaron reactor in the first mission (The Vault) there were data stores that you could scan, they gave schematics, granted nothing special, just regular schematics. Perhaps I'm just over hoping but a mission about weapon development, scannable schematics, and an appearance altering shield makes me wonder if there won't be some Reman 'recipes' to be gained in the very near future.

Personally I didn't notice a big difference between the Reman shield and the Aegis shield, although granted most of the time I'm being hit by multiple players in PVP so it's difficult to judge. I sure didn't pop any faster though.

Sure, but given they already have the feature installed, via enable and disable visuals, one should be able to add another visual type to the list. I am going to point out that costumes alone do not constitute character progression. A lot more could have been done that impacts character beyond cosmetics. Something that makes your starship a little bit better. A small damage resistance buff, a small buff to a power setting, a small increase in anything that means my starship is a little bit better, I have accomplished something and made an improvement.

for the most part it does although I did notice it makes no change at all toe the Qul'Dun Bird of Prey klingon side, which I assume is a bug as the visual changes are noticeable on everything else?

It does work on the Qul'Dun. I had the same issue. Take your ship to the ship tailor and change something. It updates the model to be compatible with the new shield. You probably don't have the swinging wings, either.

Stick it on the delta flyer! It makes the ship very very shiny. Almost to a point of it being reflective. Biggest change I gave seen on any ship with special gear. "except Borg gear of course"

    One oddly-cool look:

Put it on a Vo'Quv. You would never think a ship that HUGE could be so sleek... but it works <@.@> it's downright impressive actually.

Its the material properties of this guy combined with the colors of the glowy bits that make it work so well.

If only there were a Federation ship combo that looked like a decent time-ship.... this would sure be the skin for it.

Visuals? What visuals? Do I need to have the video card of the Gods to see these shields?

Or do I need to reach Admiral rank for them to become visible? So far I have run into a couple others that are unable to see any difference with these shields. (so far I only have them on my Commander, my VA has not done the mission).

Game graphics I have allow me to see Aegis and other visual effects, but I see no difference with these shields.

    Cheers,

    Vaith

if you chose the top reward of the 3 reward from the mission.
    coviant shield.
then you should have the fx.
if you chose the engine or the other shield you wont get any fx.

got it on my cmdr and it had the fx.

Figured it out after spending time playing with video settings. Not sure why, but I had some things disabled.

If you don't have "Screen-Space ambient occlusion" enabled, you don't see the Reman Shield visuals. At least with my nVidia video card.

I think the stats are good, but like many have said I am not going to bust up my Aegis set for it. Also, I really like the color of graphic just not the Hexagons again. We have Hexagons emitting from the Aegis set, Hexagons, trailing from the engines from the Aegies set, now hexagons all over the hull with the reman shield. I just think these three graphics need to be better than a regular pattern of hexagons.

I got Aegis for almost all my characters, but it seems the Klingons and all delta flyers/captain's yachts will use this one.:D It looks awesome on the Chang bird of prey.

The Norgh Bird of Prey looks pretty awesome too!

Now, if only sector space could be brightened just a tad.. to seem them more clearly.. heh

I would have never had the idea to take that bucket of bolts to the ship customizer....
at least the last 600 skill points i need before i get a new ship I can enjoy the Qul'Dun in all it's wingy reman-shieldy glory....

Reman shield could be even more awesome. I'm working right now on a proposal to create a set around it, based on reman offensive ideology, that we can retroactively insert into the series, and make the shield something worth equipping. (moreso than it already is)

I can confirm that the new Reman shield makes your ship look so cool that it does improve your captain's confidence in battle and actually makes you just flat out play better. :)

(j/k - I'd need Chad to confirm if there's some stat not being shown here)

    +20 to captain's badassness

My Akira variant looks pretty sweet in it. I'll post screeies later. Also, if it had not been done yet, I'll post screenies of Delta Flyer and Nebula.

It's a real shame the stats for this shield aren't as good as the Aegis shields. Equipped on my Vorcha-refit (using mostly Cryptic-original parts) it looks badass and even more so in sector space. Heck, I might even use it in PvP even though it puts me at a slight disadvantage.

Kudos to whoever did the graphics for this.

If you zoom in all the way, you can even see Reman markings on your hull.
