This seems like it should be the case. Ranged weapons are divided into Expose and Exploit, so you really need both to take advantage of the system (and you HAVE to take advantage of it or ground combat is just tedious). That means that you need two ranged weapons, and that doesn't leave a sport for melee.

Though really I can't see why weapons don't have more than one secondary attack (or I suppose that would make it a secondary and tertiary). It's not like we haven't seen hand phasers stun, go wide-beam and disintegrate enemies. Kirk and Picard never needed to carry an arsenal because their weapons were Swiss Army knife-like in their abilities... since this is the future, why do our guns comparatively so limited?

If you've never played the devidian arc before and are a low level character, that simply means that once every 10 levels you have to play 1 episode again per loot item you want.

the problem i see here is that this screws arround with the XP progression of the game

the main bulk of the missions are still level specific and if you do the 3 series only once to get the nice items early you allready outlevel the old content as it is.

Now you tell me that i have to redo a bunch of missions every rank up to get my gear up to my new level and push even more XP down my throat?

Sorry not a good idea and i would not expect people to actually do this anyway.

It's more likely that we now wait for the VA1 rank until we do the Weekly Series that don't have the time limited Series Reward anymore.

If the scaling was a problem because it gave not enough DPS, then fix the scaling instead? No?

Sorry i understand the change but i don't understand WHY?

It makes less sense this way as far as i am concerned.

Edited, because like a dolt, I failed to read the rest of the thread before replying. Rookie mistake.

Hmm it costs 240 points, I have 230...lame! :p thats how they get you, now I cant buy anything unless I throw down more money and im only 10 points off.

And a trophy feature for these weapons would be nice.

Umm... you could wait for a sale.

As designed. You paid for them, equip your whole away team if you want to. They have no EC value and are bound on pickup, so its not like you can give them away or sell them for money.

Is this going to be extended to other C-Store equipment?

Would be nice for all my low-level Boffs to sport some Chromodynamic armour and a Rivera tribble for the first couple of ranks.

interesting suggestion. I'll pass that along in case there's a chance we can do that.

I would really like to be able to hang any weapon on a trophy rack. The TOS gear and other fun looking weapons would look great in a case or on a wall. :)

another room for our ship perhaps could be an armoury similar to what was seen in elite forse would be cool where the weapons in our invemtory coulds be hung and if perhaps if it were a seperate inventory similar to the bank but only for weapons so we could store weapons their.

Any reason I have to go to my ship is good enough for me.

For just two weapons, I think they are over-priced. Add in a sword and/or a ushaan-tor and I will buy it.

you get 2 nausican swords for colisium (one common one uncommon) if you want weapons like that, dont buy them, find them (i've even seen a rare nausican sword linked in zone chat)

as to their ingame usefulness. Melee is great for distracting borg elites and for taking on the cure boss(stf)

I am looking forward to my next stf as i intend to use a flachion as the animations are sooooo cool for the combat

Well, a Lirpa and a Bat'leth are nice, but STO seems to have NEGLECTED another canon, and more obvious (potential melee weapon) item.

I'm talking about the 'Deep Space Niners' BASEBALL BAT!:D

    I'm thinking a C-Store purchase. Definitely 'common'.

Boy! I can't wait to see that Gorn Captain's face..............on the end of 42 inches of hickory wood!

Gorn Captain (righteously indignant): "You were invaders!"
    Me : THWACK! THWACK! THWACK!

Naturally, such an item would be upgradable via intensive crafting at Memory Alpha, to include a 'rusty nail in the end'.

    Lowest tech weapon FTW!:D

I could only get on board with a baseball bat if it were a Louisville Slugger. Is H&B still in business in the 25th Century?
