Good DURABLE headphones?

Every time I get nice headphones they die after some months. Admittedly I'm a bit rough on them. I drop them sometimes. I store them where it's easiest at the time. I trip over the wires (maybe I'll get wireless). I sometimes sit on them... etc etc

Now I don't think I'm too rough on them. I'd think they'd be made to take a few falls and. But alas... they're not.

So, what a good quality TANK headphone? Something I can use as a murder weapon to crush someone's skull but at the same time would still work afterwords. Then I could do it again 20 times and it'll still work. :p

P.S. Just kidding about crushing someone's skull.

I got sick of my expensive headphones dying on me so I took a very reasonable course of action a couple years ago. I bought like seven sets of 2.99 earbuds on sale and use them until they die. They last for about 3-6 months before dying. I still have a couple of them left.

I often use standard cheapo ones from Argos (UK retailer). Cost about £10, and so far each one we've had has lasted around a year.

However, I have a good set of USB headphones which I use(d) for STO:Radio work and any VOIP systems. Cost £30 from Argos but the audio quality is very good.:D

It's a shame my desktop isn't quieter, though....:(

I have a cheap pair of earbuds from RadioShack that I've been using for well over a year now. I consider $10 for a set of headphones/earbuds to a bit pricey.

I'm actually not sure my current ones are broken. I kept hearing a pulsating once in a while but it stayed when I turned it off lol. I can ever hear it unless it's with these headphones though... It might be tenitus (or whatever) because I think I have a sinus infection since I've had a slight amount of pain.... But I can't hear it without the headphones but apparently it's not coming from 'em. It's really loud with 'em on...

It could be your headphones still. Especially if their 'impedance' or 'resistance' doesn't match that of the desktop/laptop, which can happen if they're old and of cheapo make.

I have a pair of bose triport headphones, sure they're expensive, and I've had a couple break, but the bose guys will replace them free, no questions asked.
