Deltans entering Starfleet take an oath of celibacy, there fore your 'seduce' trait would have to be 'seduce:unusable' . Why would you want to limit a character race to just three traits?
Look at the world around you...it all about gimmie gimmie gimmie. All there is in the world is people saying, you gotta have this cool new gadget...oh wait...you have one?.....Mine is better than yours so buy mine. Which why my kids t.v time is limited in not only how long, but what they are watching. And is also why I DVR the few shows I watch so I can skip all the stupid buy this now commericals. How about we just agree to disagree and call it a draw?
I have zero problems with a difference of opinion, and honestly welcome it. Diversity in this game (and the world) makes things interesting. It is when people attempt claim that their personal opinion is some sort of fact or 'truth' is when problems come up.
Now, I do agree with the fact that we should be able to buy certain character traits, but not all of them. Some should be race specific (i.e The Vulcan Neck Pinch). It is rare to see a non-Vulcan to perform this.
We should be able to give the created character a species name besides alien without having to buy that option. It would be at the end of the creation process. Maybe something like this:
Name:
Species:
Ship Name:
Full Name:
Bio:
For me personally, I am fine with manually creating characters, but I want more traits to be available, and would like to be able to title my creation accordingly.
Call it lazy if you like, but that's simply your opinion.
The reason I made the comment I made cause people in general are lazy (no matter if you admit it or not EVERYONE, including myself, is lazy to a point ) and now-a-days everyone is about gimmie, gimmie, gimmie instead of taking a few mintues to figure out a work around with available resources. You can disagree with me if you want, but it is the truth.
I have personally seen people make Avatars, Cardassins, Jem'Hadar, and Androids with the alien generator, so just to the same thing for whatever Star Trek species you want and the put in the bio what species the character is and if you want a background story for the character.
That's nice about the Alien Generator and all but I didn't disagree with your point about it being able to make perfectly good Deltans or lots of other races. I pointed out your justification for being needlessly antagonistic was nonsense and actively hinders your own arguements. You wouldn't be getting into tangental arguements like this one, if you'd made your actual point about the alien generator without the personal attacks on anyone with a different opinion.

I never made a personal attack on anyone. I said people in general. That is not a personal attack, it is a generalization. If you took it personally; then I apologize. Maybe it was too blunt of a statement, but that is just the way I am. Like I said in a previous post, lets just agree to disagree. I however still do stand by my orginal stated (non-personal attack) opinion that people in general are lazy.

At the time the Deltans where introduced, Starfleet wore Pajamas for a uniform, Captains had bad wigs and would almost fly Starships into giant rocks at warp speed.
Today Starfleet uniforms are about style and varirity, hot female bridge crews, allowing faction members from a Empire we are at war with to serve on our ships, accepts non-federation member races into the academy and you are trained to kill before talk to enemies. I think enough has changed to say the oath my no longer be required.

While this is true, there is no real reason why the "Seductive" passive skill should be denied.
The stupid thing about the 'alien' generator is the whole 'Alien' thing.
Sure, if I want to make some unknown non-standard trait species that's not Canon Trek...maybe.
But if I want a Cardassian, or a Romulan or a Deltan, you can be damn sure that I'd want the actual species itself, and one that says it as well, not just 'alien' with whatever traits you wanted.
I mean if people think the alien sub-species should be used for everything, then just get rid of all of canon species we have already, and let's just have everyone listed as 'alien' and make our characters from that selection. That includes Humans and Klingons who'd now be listed as 'alien' with no special traits as well.
Not that I'd be against just having the alien-selection only and literally making your character...but unless Cryptic goes for that, I'd want canon species to be included, not 'generic alien'. Is that so wrong? It's not like most other MMO's allow you to even choose more then three species with their own unique (as in not found in the generic alien species) traits, so this is a good thing.

I fully agree.
The Alien option is really nice but it shouldn't be used to fill in for canon species in the galaxy.
I don't know what Cryptic have to pay Universal to use the IP but they should get their monies worth by using the Star Trek lore and design to the full. They have a great many species all ready designed with interesting lore and history to go with it so they should use it. Not just have an alien generator that allows us to make poor copies of what the species should be and try and fudge it.
Take the Cardassians, can be almost fully done except for the neck which we can't yet duplicate to the correct level. Though I would also suggest that the ridges aren't prominent enough on the forehead even on full they don't stand out that much. But what is lacking is a Cardassian only trait to make it a cardassian and not a shape shifter who a simple trip to the Cardassian outfit merchant can have it taking any look it wants.
So Please Cryptic add a few more species now we are hopefully done with adding more uniform variations from ToS!
First, from what I understand, Deltans are primarily in the original ST movies, which Cryptic has the rights to use already. The species would probably have to be approved by CBS, but this isn't really an issue. There is a CBS guy dedicated to approving STO stuff (can't remember his name off the top of my head). There are no art assets required so it'd take minimal dev time to implement this in the game.
Basically, we just need dstahl to say, "Ah, we should make this happen."
I think canon races should be added wherever possible. Their special traits and trait combinations are a part of Cryptics marketing strategy with the C-Store races.. Simply making all traits available in the alien generator would be bad business.

I agree![/QUOTE]
Well I think they should add the special traits and cosmetics/parts to the alien generator if you have bought the species that uses them.
For instance, if I buy the Tellarite from the C-Store I would get the Pigheaded and their skin options to use in my alien generator. The same would go for the other species I buy from the C-store and their parts and traits. As long as I own them I should be able to use them. It's possible in Champions Online so the software should be able to handle it.

So people shouldn't expect to have official races from Star Trek in a Star Trek game then?

You're spot on.
Deltans! We need 'em added!
Sorry, I then missunderstood what you agreed with in that quote.
But if we had access to the Orion traits in the Alien Generator then we could at least make "alien" Deltans.
