I want a Tricorder Mouse, or at least an STO version thereof. Perhaps a phaser mouse? Eitherway, STO Merchandising... we need it. We want it. We crave it.
STO: The T-shirt, STO: The Coloring Book, STO: The Lunch box, STO: The Breakfast Cereal, STO: The Flame Thrower.
I mean come on... Can you think of a game out there with the possible exception of Eve that would be better suited to custom keyboards and mice?
I mean really?
This game veritably SCREAMS it' not my keyboard... it's my "Console".
At the very least, I think they should start selling shirts that we can customize with our ship(s) and/or captain(s).
This isn't the first time merchandising has been brought up, and it certainly won't be the last. I don't think there's ever been an official response to the requests, though. Obviously there is some impediment to merchandising, and it would be nice if someone from marketing or legal or whatever would pop in and give us a brief explanation.
I like the idea. If it could be used to increase financial resources available for Cryptic to improve the game, I'm all for it. Its not like other fairly niche markets haven't been capitalized on (Firefly, BSG through Quantum Mechanix, CafePress) and I think even EVE has its own merchandise store. It'd be cool to see some STO swag available (I'm envisioning "Where's Sulu?" t-shirts and the like.)
...I think some furnace salesmen just made a killing down below.
I actually agree with this idea. Its presented in a bit silly way, but that's besides the point. I would certainly buy a model of the Nova for example, or generic figures with the 25th century uniforms Cryptic has made. I wouldn't go so far as to purchase a customized statue of my characters, but I'm sure someone would.
STO:The Board Game........sometimes the power goes out.
WoW has a Board game that actualy is more fun then the MMO I am sure Gozer can do somthing like this, when there are no Bugs left to hunt down and nothing else to do.

I'd buy my whole fleet, have them all lined in formation. Would also consider buying larger golden halves of my ships to stick on the wall!
