The Yuuzhan Vong vs Species 8472 vs Tyrannids

Three species who use biotech 100% exclusively, possess powerful psychic abilities, and have an absolute loathing of anything else alive.

So who would win in a slug fest of lets say, 30 ships of comparable size in a 10v10v10 battle royal?

Star Wars' Vong - Whose claim to fame is being invisible and totally immune to the force and beating the **** out of the entire New Jedi Order and live on board the mother-organic ship known as the "Worldship"

or Star Trek's 8472 - Whose claim to fame is being totally immune to the Borg assimilation process (in the cannon version) and similarly, kicking the **** of the entire Borg Collective and live in the matter filled "Fluidic Space"

or Warhammer 40,000's Tyranids - A race who assimilates other life as the Borg do, use bioships as well, and are the brainchild for the Zerg for those who are unfamilar (not adding Zerg to this because they are the red headed step child of the Tyranids) who lives in GOD KNOWS WHERE, and is claim to fame is that...well, look at this picture

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_0y2seqEPuOs/TDJcOKSUqGI/AAAAAAAAAUo/dpEYeUi69KE/s1600/Tyranids_incursions.jpg

yeah their claim to fame is their armies are about the size of our galaxy, or at least insofar as we can see, their columns of troops haven't stopped pouring in from the darkness of space for years.

All seem to have very, very advanced (biological) tech for both universes.

My money is on Tyranids, who do you guys think?

Alright TBH in a 10v10v10 I realized nids would probably lose, theyre like the Geth from Mass Effect - the individual becomes exponentially stronger when in the presence of larger numbers, a small group like 10 may be a too little

What about a no holds barred total war with all sides throwing all they had?

I again say nids because they have armies at least as large as the Milky Way itself, but I know little about the Vong in all honesty, just that they scared Luke Skywalker like none other.

in a free for all it would be the Nids via sheer numbers, as the Vong and the udine have a finite amount.

If they had everything, the Tyranids for sheer numbers (and their Shadow in the Warp would probably affect the Undine).

Even in a limited battle like above, 10 hive ships is enough to constitute a splinter fleet, which is a force large enough to eat one or more whole planets. And also 40K ships tend to be utterly ginormous compared to most other franchises (a Borg cube would be about the size of a small escort vessel in 40K), and hive ships are no exception (there's pictures of them EATING Imperial ships which are the size of Babylon 5 or bigger). So they likely STILL have a numerical advantage. And, the more enemies they kill, they more biomass they have to absorb and thus spawn more troops.

    So, still Tyranids. :p

I'd have to agree with Lurker. Tyranid ships are huge.

Although 8472 may have an advantage in that they're adaptable and willing to take a loss to benefit others.

    John Wayne wins.

Why? He just does. Who else do you know who rides into battle when the other side outnumbers him 4 to one, and then rides in, reins in his teeth, firing off a winchester breech loader with one hand, and a Colt with the other?

Also, in the terms of the competition... The Vong have plasma, which burns biomass.

They also grow their own ships, and have propultion pods that can generate gravitational singularities. A Vong Coral Skipper absorbed an entire X-Wing. Just think of what a Worldship can do!

Also, they can attach one to the Tyranid ships, and set it to pull the nearest moon into the thing. That was how Sernpidal was destroyed... and Chewie along with it. :(:(:( (Chewie!!! You'll always be missed!)

    Also, the 8472 have planet-killers...

I'd say the Vong, the Vong seriously beat the **** out of the New Republic, and the Jedi as a whole.
Hell the Vong even Conqured even Corosant and made the planet a salad bar.:D

Ultimately, however, the New Republic emerged victorius, and I believe also forged an alliance with the Vong.

1 jedi is still a member of the New Republic.

I don't care which Jedi it was, jedi are still New Republic.

And the Vong weren't beaten, they signed a treaty.

Tyranids would eat 8472 and then have the Vong as desert.

    Numbers: Tyranids

The Tyranids have devoured at least 1 entire galaxy. That is, they have absorbed all organic matter in said galaxy.

Tyranid Hive Fleets have been known to number in the billions of ships.

    Weapons: Tyranids

Someone said that the Vong would gravitationally drop a Tyranid ship on a moon or planet. The Tyranids would say 'And?'. Tyranid ships drop (read: crash) onto planets all the time. It is the final stage of devouring a planet. They don't care about casualties. Because at the end of a battle, everything is just reabsorbed back into the hive ships to be dropped on another world.

Tyranid bioweapons and claws have been able to negate even the heaviest armors and shields the Imperium can produce. Borg and Vong forces wouldn't stand a chance.

    Endurance: Tyranids

The only way to destroy the Tyranids is to kill the Synapse creatures and Norn Queens. Not an easy task by any means.

idk, ill admit on the norm/average, wars tech is lower than trek tech

BUT - star wars makes HUGE leaps in power like with the sun crusher, galaxy gun, death star, star forge, world devastators, eclipse star destroyer, centerpoint station, freedon nadd's head aches, palpatine's bad hair days, etc. :-P

they go from pop guns to elephant guns in a eye blink haha

p.s. star forge - most bad TRIBBLE super weapon ever

    http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Forge

"The Star Forge is more than just a space station. In some ways, it is like a living creature. It hungers. And it can feed on the dark side that is within all of us."

I can't believe no one brought up The Shadows or The Vorlon. Not only do they have organic ships from fighters up to planet destroyers, but they'll mess with your minds directly and/or indirectly while they're at it.

Ah, I myself never heard of them but they sound cool.

Tyranid's have Cloverfield-sized monsters (in some cases much bigger) called Bio Titans who have the ability to psychically drive entire cities insane, while he physically eats them :-P

I guess upset humans are tastier humans.

No, no no. You mixed up what I said. I said the MOON would crash into the SHIP, not the SHIP into the MOON.

Also: The Flood. That's all I'm gonna say on the matter.

And, just like the Undine, the Shadow in the Warp will probably drive THEM insane first. :p

Once again...and? There'll probably be a bit of a vicious cycle with Flood infesting Tyranids and Tyranids killing/eating Flood (which also leads one to wonder whether the infesting or synapse would ultimately be more powerful in controlling individual bugs). I would still say the Tyranids would eventually win. The Flood is fairly static and more of an elemental force, while the Tyranids have the Hive Mind and literally almost infinite flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances and overcoming an enemy. That, and they're just so much FASTER (basic assault troops have above-human reflexes, and the REALLY fun ones are literally almost too fast for the human eye to perceive).

The Flood have a hive mind, too. The Gravemind.

The Forerunner's most powerful weapon, the Halo array, couldn't have wiped out the Flood. Only their food.

Also, the Flood can use technology, and in theroy would be able to take over entire Tyranid ships.

And if those ships are sentient....

It would lead to a quick transition to an Interstellar-class Flood, which is BIG trouble. Interstellar-class Flood can quickly infect entire galaxies, and quickly spread to others.

    Hence the name, the Flood.

The problem would be is that once the Tyranids ate the Flood or an organism containing the Flood and the Tyranids that ate the Flood are re-absorbed by the Hive Fleet, the Norn Queen would be able to produce offspring incorporating evolutionary defenses or even attributes of the Flood.

This. Much like everything else in Blizzard's -craft series, the Zerg are a blatant and inferior rip-off of Games Workshop's lines.

Ahh, ok. Didn't know the Flood had a hive mind of their own. Probably because I lost total interest in the franchise after Halo 2.

Still. The Tyranid hive mind is still bigger/smarter (there's been reports before of Tyranids adapting within hours to completely overrun otherwise impenetrable defenses. And the whole "has absorbed the entire collected wisdom of at least one full galaxy" bit, too.

The Zerg are distinctively different enough. I say the Zerg. Who, ironically enough to the OP in fact were led by a red-headed step child.
BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!one!!!

Sorry. The Zerg are barely larger than a Tyranid splinter fleet. And the full hive fleets are made up of thousands of splinter fleets. And the whole Tyranid race has at least a dozen hive fleets. Seriously, there is nothing the Zerg have that the Tyranids can't do a billion times more of, or a billion times more effectively.
