BUYING ST dvd boxed sets online

I am currrently in the buyers market to complete my home TREK dvd collection.

I found a website, phrinck.com, that sells STAR TREK dvd boxed sets.

I've never seen the ones like the ones I'm seeing on their site, and I am
wondering, before buying from them, if they are LEGIT, and not BOOTLEGS
from a foreign country, and not officially licensed product from Paramount / CBS.

If anybody that reads this could go to their site, and take a look at them,
and give me your opinion on them, I would be most appreciative.

Specifically I am looking to buy ---

ST-Next Generation boxed set
ST-DS9 boxed set
ST-Voyager boxed set

The thing that concerns me is the low price, $99.00 for each set.

Where on Amazon.com these sets NEW can run upwards of $300- and higher.

I really don't feel like going through EBAY, because I don't want to take a chance on
getting bootlegs there, and going through the hassles that could be associated with
getting bad or damaged product.

I've sent an email to Phrinck.com customer service, inquiring about where their product
comes from and why their cost is so much lower than Amazon.

For those of you with deeper darker suspicious minds,
NO, I don't work for any of these compaines, don't think I am giving them
any free publicity, just want to buy some great dvd sets.
Thanks!

Well, I vote that they're bootlegs. Like you said, prices less than half of what you see in other places makes no sense. If they were legitimate product, there's no reason for them to be that low. Another thing -- they don't give a physical address anywhere for their company. That's a very bad sign.

Star Trek series cost way too much though. You can stream them for free online (and legally), run those streams into a dvd recorder, and make your own dvd's for free. It's crazy the prices they're charging. Last time I looked, it was about:
    Firefly complete series -- $15 :D
    Star Trek TNG Season 1 -- $45 :(

edit: Also, these guys aren't registered with the BBB.

I'm a hardcore collector of dvd's, when it comes to TREK there's no way I'm
going to make my own, and I don't stream when it comes to TREK episodes.

I have a Netflix account, and I do stream the available trek movies they have available,
and I have bought single episodes of DS9 for my iphone, basically ones that I really want to see.

I have a set amount, a budget for what I'm going to buy, and it's the collections or nothing.

I'm not buying single seasons when I can buy the entire package and get them all in
one whack, and watch anything from any season, when I want, even taking some on vacation
    when I go.

It's been several hours and no response from Phrinck, so it's not looking good for
    them right now.

If anything I'll go with AMAZON, at least I know they're legit there.

    EDIT after further google-fu...

From searches of phrinck on google I find many complaints about them, the dvd sets are bootlegs
from china, the dvd's are copies from dvd's, they pixellate....

    NOT BUYING FROM PHRINCK...thanks self.
