I am sure this has had a thread before but I was curious.

I guess I will start off with my favorite Star Trek, and that would be The Original Series, more specifically the original series movie era the most.

For me it would be The Next Generation, followed closely by Deep Space 9.

    In order:

    DS9
    Voyager
    TOS
    Enterprise
    TNG*
    TAS

*"Best of Both Worlds" best two episodes EVER made in the Star Trek Franchise

Yeah but for me TNG is mostly a nostalgia thing. If they had all came out at the same time, i'd have to say DS9 first then TNG.

Everything gets better after the beard.

I'd say TNG after the beard, followed by DS9 after the beard, followed by VOY, then TMP, TOS, DS9 before the beard, TNG before the beard, TAS, ENT.

Not trying to give ENT a hard time. It wasn't bad, but it never hooked me. I've been watching the odd VOY episode over the last few weeks and I'm beginning to get the odd feeling that Kathrine Janeway was the toughest of all the Captains... But that's a different flame war, ne?

    I do love lists.
    • TOS
    • DS9 (especially post-beard)
    • TNG (especially post-beard)
    • ENT
    • VOY
    • TAS
Not to say there weren't brilliant episodes of the lower-ranked shows; that's just how they line up for me.

    no disrespect to the old guard however;

ive watched trek so much that i know what each one of them is about before it gets half way and then i loose interest there after... before this i would still say

DS9 - love that cardassian style of doing business especially Garak. the big CGI wars, nice big explosions and ships. Ferengi fun as well.

Voy - Alone light cruiser in space 75k LY from the federation up against impossible odds of 75 years and all sorts of hostiles and the only protection is a criminal LT at helm, a dispassionate vulcan who sucks the air out of the room, a fluorescent green rookie operations officer, traitor lt commander indian scout, a half klingon with a temper problem, a holographic dector with a bad bedside manner and a talaxian with a chip on his shoulder. love that irony of of this lot getting along with a rock solid captain who has a problem letting go at times.

ENT - New heavy cruiser NX class warp 5 first timer, so primitive a ship and runs into so many troubles, that bucket of bolts goes so far as to fight in a civil war over a season long arc half destroyed with half its crew. its fun.

TNG - like a slow painful death at times, no action, same minotinous sequence of exploration without that much action and when it comes its enjoyable. i do like picard vs lwaxana troi thats funny.

TOS - i cant stand it its like a slow death as well, saw about half of the episodes, but tbh is rubbish compared to date, half the land missions are laughable to say the least although there are one or two stand out episodes like the doomsday machine and kirk vs the gorn captain.

Well, you can watch it at http://www.cbs.com/classics/star_trek/video/

    As for my list...
    • TOS
    • DS9
    • ENT
    • TAS
    • TNG
    • VOY

I will add the disclaimer that I have not seen TAS in ages... so probably think more nostalgically of it then I should. Then I just noticed that they added it to the videos available at http://www.cbs.com/classics/star_trek/video/ . It was not there just a few days ago, going to have to watch that again finally.

TOS Simply the best, all others are pale copies in comparison
ENT The closest of the follow-up series to the original in feel and substance
TAS Great writing hampered by inconsistent animation, and too short an episode length
DS9 Some really good writing, lots of action, but lacked the exploration.
TNG BORING, stale, too much talk, too much drama, not enough fun.
VOY Too much treknobabble, too much like Gilligan's Island with far too many episodes opening with a possible way home only to have hopes dashed by the end of the episode.
