So I don't know if you all seen my post in Star Fleet Academy yesterday. Suffice to say my computer decided to give me the old "BSOD" when I resumed from standby yesterday morning. So I did a quick backup of all my important files and went on the 3 hour adventure that is reformatting and restoring.

I do this once a year at the very least, sometimes more than that if I mess something up when I'm mucking about with system settings. My question is this: Do you Reformat & Reinstall at the first sign of trouble, or do you do something different?

    Depends on the trouble.

Monthly basis I be sure to dust the interior of my computer.

For small issues, tweaks I do, I just do a restore configuration to what I had at the beginning of the month.

I have not had to do a full system restore in about a year and a half.

I only dust once every 6 months or so, but yeah, I think 2 years is about my average for system restores.

Ohhhh does anyone else use one of those little rocket air blasters? Aren't those fun!? :D

I dust once per quarter. My computer does a weekly defrag, etc. I also keep third-party software to a minimum. I have found my computer to have very few issues.

My computer only gets dusted very irregularly, mainly when it's having new stuff installed. But it does get done about once a year....

And I checked the defrag program in Windows 7 a few weeks ago, bear in mind that the hard drive has never been 'cleaned'...and only 2% defragmentation. :D
