I think the game itself lends more to having one toon in terms of gearing then multiple smaller ones. While the thread I made not too long ago did mention that having several toons is good fiscally, the cost to gear just one toon is pretty crazy if you're looking to be end-game viable (I just made another post on a…

No no no no no NO! This is a horrible idea for game balance. All this does is encourage people to get just enough coins to rent it out for a bit, but that's not enough to make the gear useful in the long term. Let's crunch some numbers here. On my server (Tideswell) last I checked GSTs were going for roughly 10-12mil each.…
-
I think it's important to stress that both work equally well, but I'd prefer to only have 1 character because trying to balance a bunch of different ones is a nightmare.
-
Then I would say yes you can simply casually enjoy the game. There are plenty of smaller factions that have no interest in seriously TWing.

What capnk said, pvp end-game pretty much requires cashing if you want to be effective. That said, PWI has made some newer stuff that "evens" the tables a bit. With g16 (T3/N3 for other server) and enough spirit it's doable. As for PvE you can get buy with g16 just fine, though getting to it can be annoying. Money's a bit…

I work out of my house and mostly just have lost a lot of interest in the game so I don't play much. But when I made a concerted effort to play while also doing a retail job (about 40 hours a week or more, 5 work days) I felt like I had zero time to play in any way that would be effective, and the fact that the main reason…

So I'll admit to having made the original post without doing a lot of in-depth diving on prices and whatnot, a good portion of the information I initially posted on is probably off-base or wrong. 1) As you mentioned, there definitely still is a market for the crafting materials in certain catshops, but I worry that it's…

We've already had the person who was pvp ready in 4 months (gear-wise, not spirit wise) say he cashed. We're moving on from that.
-
I'd say that while you are correct in this being true, it's not a good thing and I'd hope it could be changed.
-
You apparently didn't read the post lol. They've already got an illusionary crystal. And myself and phantomforce already advised them on how best to handle using it.
-
The Illusionary crystal gives you enough exp to level to 95 immediately. So any levels you currently have will be added to it. Personally since this is the first character you would have over level 35, as you mentioned, I think it would be smart to level normally until around lvl 70 or so. That way you'll have some coin…

You know this, I know this, they don't know this lol.

To be fair, it does give you 6 A Chests so you'll have, theoretically, 6 a cards to use (unlikely but whatever). And if they did add r9 as part of the chest, it would drop the price of r9 by about $600 which is not something they want to do.
-
I can say with all confidence that the game was not built to be a credit card swipe away from end-game gear. Until the anniversary packs came out, the most anyone ever had was tt99 and that took a lot of work and a fair bit of luck. TT100 was considered even rarer, and rank 8 gear rarer still. But I'll be honest I haven't…

Well the thread is about money and how it would relate to newer players...that's the whole point of it lol. I personally have found spirit to be quite difficult if you don't have a lot of luck with cards. I've seen people with 1k spirit still get oneshot easily. And honestly I'm not sure what else to say then. All I really…

How long have you been playing, cause the game (as I stated in the main post) had a lot more options for a f2p player to get coins. I had a friend who farmed his full 3rd cast without spending a dime, but gear no longer is a the big factor. It's a legitimate complaint that a person, regardless of cashing or farming for…
-
Then I would ask, is there really any possibility the game will get more friendly to f2p people? Or is it going to just be a doomed game down the line when enough people stop charging money?
-
My biggest issue, and one I think I didn't say very clearly in my original post, is that most of the methods I outlined were/are ways to make money in the game; but when 1 disappeared, another didn't replace it, it just stayed gone. And the total number of available ways to make money has dropped to really only the 3 I…

Illusionary Crystals worked for both my Duskblade and Stormbringer before the patch, unless they changed something it still acts that way.
