Rofl, all this QQ for a name that can be changed back using a Pet Collar. I didn't even notice it since I had renamed it to "Oreo" a long time ago. That being said the inconsistency and random renaming of Pets and other items can cause a great deal of confusion. Especially since I have noticed that Auction House, Quest and…

Lol, well we are talking about the game now... not 3 years ago. Besides it can be done with an Air pet besides the Nix, just a bit slower. Personally, I think Venos are really boring now compared to some of the other classes. I only pull it out to help my alts & friends.
-
The simple solution to this is to use an air pet. This is one good reason to get a Nix. I had no problems whatsoever in that area because of that.
-
Well I'm glad to have entertained you.

@Bubbles, I have no idea what you have against me. I was just responding to Sangodoc's insinuation that I don't know anything about definitions. No need to be snarky about it. *rolleyes*
-
I thought this thread was dead but apparently not, lol. Anyway, my definition was based more on Product Life Cycle, since this game is a product. Here are two definitions that imply implicitly and explicitly "dying". What Does Life Cycle Mean? The course of events that brings a new product into existence and follows its…
-
Delude yourselves if you wish. The game is dying, the only question is when exactly it gets to the point where most of us start leaving for good. My estimate is 1 year. UNLESS they start putting some real money into fixing the game. I mean they bought Cryptic Studios for $50 million. Can you imagine what they could have…
-
@Bubbles - Arguing with you is pointless. Anything having a lifecycle by definition is dying. Personally, I want to see the game survive for a while but I don't see any signs they are doing anything other than minor patches. They seem to be banking their hopes on the new titles coming out. But it would seem the market…

Perfect World Co., Ltd. NASDAQ:PWRD Shares of Perfect World Co. fell after the Chinese online game developer lowered its third-quarter revenue guidance, saying it has decided to slow some in-game promotional activities to extend the lifecycle of its games.…

News Flash -- it is slowly dying. It is the typical lifecycle of all MMOs. PWI may have at most 1 year before it basically goes into server merges and lifesupport. In fact even the PWCN management admitted it. "Google it" as so many have suggested if you don't believe me.
-
I use google tyvm. If you think my question is stupid then don't read and answer. No need to be rude.
-
It may be a sequel for PWCN P2P players but not for US PWI players who got this version as their first experience. Unless you mean that the Genesis expansion is a sequel. What I'm thinking should be done is more like a total reset. Similar to what EQ did going to EQ2, where they essentially went 1000 years into the future.…
-
$1 US= 1 Gold, simple. BTW you can get maxed speed mounts at much less than 75 Gold.
-
Why all the hate? I do have a life and don't spend all day trying to figure out what PWE/PWCN is doing. That is why I posted here on the forums to see if someone knows more.
-
Thanks for the informative update and link. Well yes PWI is still pretty good and that's why I still play it, but you can see the population density decreasing already. I will probably still charge Zen once in a while, like buying a Movie ticket that I know will soon be gone. What this thread is about is whether there is a…

The issue really is that the casual reader would easily mistake the PR announcement. Not everyone has access to the Chinese versions nor can most of us here read Chinese. It would have been more accurate for them to have said they were updating Perfect World to include content previously released in Perfect World 2.…

If you know so much about the game, then please enlighten us with real information instead of just saying I'm wrong and being rude. That is what this thread is about. It was reasonable for me to post that Press Release quote because it ties in with the "new content" that Frankieraye has been hinting at. If indeed that…

Well I know that, but obviously it isn't enough to offset the money making side of an ALL APS squad. My suggestion is being made to try to bring back some balance into the game between classes and making it easier for lowbies (by reducing inflation).
-
Um help for WHAT? As it is most high end squads are APS Sins and BMs only. This may help balance out squads when they realize that Casters and debuffing can reduce their repair bill to be worthwhile. If you are talking about a high level helping out a lowbie, the repair bill will be nothing since the boss is killed so fast.
-
Actually there should be NO technical limitations if it is done manually. From what I understand GMs have the ability to grant levels, equipment etc. to characters. The only limitation is that the character on the moved to server must choose a unique name, that is probably not going to be the same as the original. Even…
-
Agreed, as I mentioned in an earlier post, increase in coin supply=inflation. But I like the concept of making the biggest coin sinks at the high level end, instead of at all or low levels. Maybe if attacking at 5APS starts to cost a decent amount in repairs, it will help cool the APS craze and encourage squads to bring in…

FYI, found this Perfect World official press release: On September 15, 2011, Perfect World released the expansion pack "Glory Renaissance" for "Perfect World," the Company's 3D adventure and fantasy MMORPG. This expansion pack introduces new story plots and skills for its new class and professions. A new instance and…

Agreed that PWI is fairly good for now or we wouldn't have any players left. But it takes years for a really great game to be developed, so they need to already be in the process to creating a sequel for it to even come out next year. You realize of course that PWE is a business and has expenses. People like you who play…
-
Hmm, someone with an anger management problem, and too afraid to post under their own main account. LOL. What surprises me is why you would even be angry at a discussion as to whether there is a sequel. Wouldn't PW3 be awesome? Besides, your attitude towards programmers "just being workers" is probably the exact reason why…
-
I am really against it. Causes massive exchange rate fluctuations and annoys players who are trying to plan their spending.
-
I wouldn't be surprised. The PWCN management probably needed a scapegoat to save face for their massive stock price drop. From what I understand, PWE had very little autonomy and it seems the Chinese management doesn't understand the culture of the US players very well.
-
That seems odd. Why would a $50 Mil + Public Company be so incapable of retaining a good development team. The devs are the lifeblood of the company.
-
Yes! There is a little bit of justice. I hope they do it a lot more for the glitchers. BTW, it isn't stealing. It is confiscation for a bannable event.
-
Personally I think BH XP is ok as it is (when stacked). What I would like is a larger variety of BHs available daily. For example why not make use of Twilight Temple as well from 60 onwards (not just 100+) and give the players a choice of BH instances. Why not allow Phoenix Valley to be used more than once a day? Unlike FF…

What this game needs is a permanent 2x-4x XP rate increase, NOT drop rate increase. The old quest XP rewards (except for Tideborn Coming of Age Quest) need to go up about 8x. Gimme a break, killing 40 of something for a measly 8-15K XP reward? (mid-level quests). No wonder questing and quest squads are mostly dead except…
