Kernel32 HELP!!!

Hello,

I was playing PWI, i clicked on the war avatar book instead of war avatars on my character and it instantly came up with game error. I tried to relog and i got this message

The procedure entry point InterlockedCompareExchange64 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

can anyone help with this or what it means? I uninstalled and then reinstalled and it still has that message.

    I got the same message...can't log in either. I'm on Archosaur server.

    same problem here are you all using windows XP? Seems to me Arc is not compatible with XP suddenly

    Yes I'm running XP. Worked ok earlier today but not now.

    The function "InterlockedCompareExchange64" is only in the Vista and above DLL Kernal32. That's why the function can't find the entry point on your systems, because it's not there. To put in simple terms, yes, Arc is not compatible with XP it seems. https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms683562(v=vs.85).aspx

    Note: If I'm being honest, I don't know why they stopped making XP compatible. It's not like Arc uses some blazing new-age technology that needs these newer functions.

    This is happening to me too. Seemingly at random, because my game was working just fine earlier today. Is this something that can be fixed?

    Well kids its time to learn how to bypass arc and to say goodbye to blessing or any other code if there are going to be codes in the future.
    Or install another version of windows.

    PWI is not the problem. It should still run just fine on Windows XP. It's Arc that is demanding a newer system.

    sigh..time to find a better game perhaps XD i've just got my full G16 set just last week LOL not a chance in hell will I upgrade to win7/8..you have to start from scratch..meaning doing a clean install and lose all the "more important" applications for work XD b:byeb:bye peeewweeye

    how can i bypass arc? i think with the new download there isnt even an elementclient

    Or, and I'm just putting this out there, go and buy (or make) a newer system. That way you can keep your Windows XP system and have a newer system that will run a million times faster. Plus it won't have issues with newer software or games.

    Scroll down untill you find the title: Dual Clienting and other Arc Tips. Read that and you will learn how to bypass ARC.

    And ofc elementclient exist.

    same here its stupid. since arc went on a update all me stuff messed up. iv must of unistalled it 28 times now and tryed repair. still nothink. and cant access pwi game it self cos was unistalled with arc

    I cannot access to PWI anymore even the dual client today. So the PWI admin has intent to close the PWI online to whole world?

    There is no point to use any workaround to bypass. Everyone is just player, not tech guru.

    You need to use the bypass Arc methods to run the game until they, I assume, recompile it to work with XP. This mistake could be made by any programmer who is careless with build settings. I've done it before, other's have done it before, and PWE likely did it here.

    PWI messed up again. Why am I not supriced.
    Half of my guild cant log on... With **** like windows 8 as the only choice I', not supriced that people dont upgrade from xp

    Actually, Windows Vista is the minimum OS required to run Arc at the moment. It would be stupid of them to make Windows 8 the minimum, since Windows 7 is the overwhelming majority still. Either way, I still think this is a mistake they will reconcile shortly (well, shortly by PWE standards).

    Until then, teach people how to bypass Arc and spread it and all that. Because PWI itself, does not need Windows Vista and above functionality. In fact, I think PWI will run on Win 2k just fine.

    I just finished a program with a simplistic interface that should make it easy to bypass Arc. Source code is included in program. You will need .NET 2.0. Which I kind of just assume most people have installed by now through Windows Update.

    seems like bypassing arc is just alot of greek to us who arent computer gurus. so can the work arounds for arc be put into simple english.
