being? doesnt something have to be publicly owned and or controlled before it can be transfered to private ownership?0

lol nothing to worry about,
they are privatizing to re-go on the chinese stock market since the stocks were undervalued on the nasdaq
what happened is that pwrd had a huge bounce up in stock value due to this (old) news (read something between 14 and 22%)mypers.pw/1.7/#123510

I posted the link the other day in the thread about GM/Redname further down this list. In the short term privatisation isnt a bad thing, private companies tend to be less about the profit and more about quality (less shareholder pressure) so it might work in our favour. However as Hot said, delist from one stock market to relist on another so we end up back in same boat as before0 -

It's Wanmei (Perfect World China) that is being privatized. It will have no direct impact on PWE (though the massive layoffs they had recently may have been an indirect result.)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Although since Wanmei is now a new company they could make changes to agreements with PWE for all we know. I really don't know I am not some legal aide or something but to say that this will in no way possibly effect us is silly. I mean look at the changes they are doing to forums...goodbye to all the old posts. http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?p=22435401#post224354010 -
There's a difference between having no direct effect and having no effect. And it will still be the same company; Wanmei's founder is buying back stock so he will have a majority stake again. It's not like it's being bought up by Google or Microsoft or something along that line.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

The change of the forum has nothing to do with what you are posting here.

This. That change was a decision by management that's wholly unrelated to what's happening with Wanmei.(Insert fancy image here)0 -

Do you work for PWE...are you an employee? If not then sorry if I refuse to listen to your response. Like I am aware this has been something that has been discussed over time but many people have already said that all the recent lay offs and job changes in PWE have been because of this privatization, which in turn caused PWE to decide to **** us over and merge forums...so as far as I can tell the privatization of Wanmei DOES have an indirect effect on the forums...but again I would rather a response from someone that knows for sure and not just some gamer with a very vague response.This. Well nvm then.....but still I would rather respect the word of Kossy over you no offense xD thanks Kossy.XXxICExXx - Morai wrote: »http://www.streetinsider.com/Special+Reports/Notable+Mergers+and+Acquisitions+427%3A+(CELG)+(IGTE)+(PWRD)+(NORD)/10491290.html

I didnt asked you to listen to my response. You do whatever you want. I dont care.
And can you stop freaking out about the fact wanmei being privatized?
The game we are playing will remain the same. With all his good and bad things.
But feel free to not listening to my response like you already did and it turned out to be a correct one.0 -

I love how you insist without a doubt that things will be exactly as they were without any real knowledge of that...so like when were you able to read the future? I am in no way saying they won't stay the same but you have no way of knowing for sure. So yea....coming on here and acting like you know everything doesn't really help. Good for you, you were right about something...I was right about the dress being black and blue but no one cared about that either so GG.0 -

Why are you so mad?
I, just a random person that you never meet in your life so I dont understand why you react like this .
I dont act like I know everything but on the subject with forum migration I knew that its a different thing and has nothing to do with this post.
But you dont have to believe me that the game being privatized wont affect content of the game as we know it and love it now.
And I dont have to bring you evidence of anything. You can simply ignore my posts.0 -

Making the assumption that I am angry over words on a forum post is very childish.....as for my reaction...i merely stated that I didn't really value your opinion...which is what it is an opinion. You are trying to state your opinion as though it is facts and I am merely calling you out on it. In regards to the forum migration...I already corrected myself and said you were right...so who cares get over that clearly that was a mistake on my part. As for bringing evidence to your claim the game will stay the same...not only do you not have to..but you can't. There is no way you can bring evidence of what will or won't happen in the future due to this change. Did you realize that they are taking out a $900 million loan to do this merge....and did you ever think that may effect the game as it is now. The fact is you can't honestly say you know for sure what will happen you are merely suggesting you do...but in a manner that says you KNOW it won't change...which yet again you can't. Sorry if me calling you out on this is bothering you to some degree or another but clearly I am not "angry" over it LOL.0 -
lets hope this means we get more people working that give a **** about this game, or at least wanmei sets policies that help us : D0

Mh. 900mil debt. Smells like they're setting up for a controlled bankrupcy to restructure. The bankrupcy would eliminate the corporate entity and all obligations it has... they could do anything they want at that time. Fire staff - shut down games...
Maybe I'm being pessimistic here, but I've seen this kind of trickery before. Corporation takes a dive, the shareholders end up with nothing... but the management walks away with a big bonus. I've become sceptical about the value of manager as a profession...I'm so P.R.O... I Press Respawn Often.

I did a bit of research and the owner of Wanmei is getting such a huge deal out of this that he is basically doing this for free...so I wonder what he even needs that loan for tbh. He will likely just use it and slowly pay it back with whatever profits he has while he sits on the big piles of money he already has.0 -
nothing to see here, just a leveraged buyout to privatization. They'll fix the company a bit, increase the value, sell private equity and repay the debt, this is nothing special and nothing to be concerned about0

Id expect to see this kinda thing from buy out firms, private equity companies, buy up, sell off profittable parts then dump the rest and the debt with it and not so much the founder of the company. Still reckon its a leveraged buy out to repackage and relist. Gaming company stocks are undervalued in China so he would prob make a tidy profit plus he loses to the debt to the PLC if he relists. Hopefully he keeps it private as they do tend to be higher on the better service side that PLCs0 -

Being honest here I don't know much about big companies and buy outs and yada yada...but does anyone know what this means for PWE in the terms of contracts with Wanmei? Someone told me it basically null and voids the contract....so is that bad for PWE or could it mean PWE could start hiring pro devs and actually get our own content and fixes?0 -
All this is right now is the original owner buying back majority share. It's not really a big deal and won't have that much of a notable change overall. It's also not the first time this sort of thing has happened, so I doubt we'll see much affected by this. Best case scenario is that the guy decides to take a look into his investments, sees money leaking, and tries to correct it in a way that benefits those using the service.... yeah not very likely to happen. b:chuckle(Insert fancy image here)0

Or just plugs said leak by saying buh bye to the game in question....xD0 -

So I was right again when I said that this game will keep remaining the same . That this privatization wont change the game as it is now.

Ok...not saying you are wrong but again you can't know for sure you are right. The fact is no one that has commented on here as of yet can honestly say for sure they KNOW what will happen. You do realize that OPKossy is not paid by PWE....being a moderator like kossy is just something that one volunteers time to do. Kossy may be better informed than an average player but even Kossy can't say 100% for sure kossy knows what will happen. So yea....you don't have any right to be celebrated. This thread is merely discussing the possibilities for what can happen. There are no real right or wrong answers other then trying to claim you KNOW what is going to happen.0 -

A speculations thread indeed.
Well, as long as there is no story about complete bankruptcy, I guess there is nothing to fear about right now.
But still, 900m? Took them time to realize something wrong was really happening. b:surrenderMaintenance time. Please choose a line:
- When is it over? OMG I need my fix!! *super spazzing*
- Fix the damn bugs, dammit! I'm so angry! I'll quit!!
- New codes out there? I like free stuff~ *wink*
- When will we get new content? QQ
- Will we get sales? I got a ton of gold to spend.
- I'm bored, I'll create a useless thread to annoy Opkorock.
- *Incessant poking on Sweetiebot* Fun~0 -

PWE/PWI are wholly owned subsiduaries so will remain part and parcel of any new private company. They could spin off any of these business to buyers but again all this thread is is conjecture and hearsay. I doubt we will be party to any significant information, we are only customers afterall b:laugh0 -
XXxICExXx - Morai wrote: »the 900m is in reference to the loan thats being taken out to take the company private, which will go as a debt on the balance sheet of the new company. Not a major issue and the process of leveraged buy outs is fairly common.

Very true...most likely we won't know of any closure of games till right before or after it is said and done assuming that even happens. I have already dismissed that loan. Wanmei is getting such a great deal out of this that 900m is probably chump change to him.0 -
LOL 900Milion debt O.o
now i know where LAAAAG came from....
pay your provider PWE, pls.Unfortunately due to an issue the dragonflight event needed to be temporarily disabled over the weekend.
They've heard the players and it is loud and clear players are not happy getting new content if that content is at the price of quality of both new and old content.
