Losing internet access while playing
Demodude - Dreamweaver

So I have been having a weird problem lately, and I'm not sure if it's related to playing PWI or not. For some reason every once in a while while playing I lose internet access (on Windows 7 I get a yellow triangle with a black exclamation point over my wifi bars) and disconnect to the server. After a minute or two everything goes back to normal and I can log back in. It's just weird because it only ever happens while playing PWI.
Anyone knows what it might be and how to fix it? b:thanks

It's probably your modem. All of the modems on the market today are utter ****, but you can't do anything about it because the ISP decides which modems you can or cannot use.
However, if you wish to find the real answer, and it might be your modem, read my very long, possibly accidentally insulting, explanation of networking http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1753551 along with Sylen's one http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?p=21503191#post21503191
Also, if it is your modem. You have a couple of things you could do. If you are familiar with electrical engineering, it's not too hard to make some holes in the side of the modem and solder a nice 120mm fan right into the side of the modem. Optionally, you could look for a modem fan online and get that. Modems have a tendency to massively overheat because of constant electrical conversion. This many times appears in the form of a modem shutting down for a few minutes and rebooting itself once cool enough.Kernal32.dll error? Trace looks fine. It should be done only when you have the yellow triangle.Demodude - Dreamweaver wrote: »As far as pinging myself and my router, I'm reading through your stickied thread about that, still not quite sure how to do it
I didn't explain how to ping your router and yourself. Although I definitely should have had a chapter on that.
To Ping Yourself
"ping 127.0.0.x" where x is any number from 1-255
To Ping Your Router
Run "ipconfig" and find your network card or adapter. There should be something like...Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.21 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
The "Default Gateway" is your router. Now ping whatever your router IP is. In this example, I would ping as such...
"ping 192.168.1.1"
Edit: I'll wait until you have problems. The loopback test you performed suggests that your network card or adapter is functioning as expected.Kernal32.dll error? Get Arc XP for PWI because PWE Derpped -->http://www.nrgs.org/dev/arcxp/ArcXP.zip<-- (Don't select the arrows!)

I suspect that your network adapter is faulty. If possible, try connecting an ethernet cable directly to your computer and disable your adapter. If for the next 24 hours you don't have any issues, that probably rules out the router. Optionally, if it happens again, and you have a phone, tablet, or another device that connects through the router, try pinging the router on those devices. For Android I use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm | If they end up with a timed out response, then it is probably the router.Kernal32.dll error? That says it then, your network adapter is faulty/failing probably due to overheating, although there are other causes, the common one is always overheating.Kernal32.dll error? Get Arc XP for PWI because PWE Derpped -->http://www.nrgs.org/dev/arcxp/ArcXP.zip<-- (Don't select the arrows!)

Is there an easy fix?ChayalBoded 102/102/101 Celestial Sage Rank 9 Assassin

Tempest b:dirty0 -
Easy, yes, cheap, no. The easy fix it to buy a new network adapter. Before that though...
Are you using a laptop/All-in-one computer or a desktop? Is it a network card or a wireless adapter.
If it is an adapter plugged in through a USB, next time, try unplugging it and plugging in something else. Does that something else work as expected? If not, it's possible your computer is not getting enough power and the USB port is shutting down. Also, if using a wireless adapter, there is a power saver mode that can cause a problem much like this. You have to go into your wireless adapter's properties and see if it is set. I'm afraid I don't have any pictures to guide you there. But this site does http://louisville.edu/it/departments/communications/wireless/disable-power-savings-mode-for-the-wireless-cardKernal32.dll error? If using Windows 7, I'd recommend reinstalling the drivers, if nothing else: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/lenovo-g570-notebook
If using Windows 8, I'd read this: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/lenovo-g570-notebook/documents/HT080645?tabName=Solutions
Short of these, I'd get a new adapter. Adapters in laptops from what I've seen over the last handful of years never seem to last more than about 3/4 years tops before having issues.Kernal32.dll error? Sorry 'bout the adapter. Luckily they're not too expensive nowadays for a pretty decent one. Just make sure it's compatible with whatever your router uses. Either an 802.11n or 802.11ac device should connect to any router you have (for the most part).Kernal32.dll error?
