Will it run it? Sure
Will it run well? Nope
CPU is weak as ****. APU is ****. 2GB RAM when client easily surpasses 1GB alone (Seen my client go up to 2GB)
I predict under 10 FPS and complete freezes when you enter archosaur.0 -
APUs aren't that great, but this game is old enough to where it will probably run as well as it runs for anyone else. Windows will use the hard drive for virtual memory when it exceeds the limit. It may cause minor disk thrashing. I would say that Archosaur probably won't freeze, but will be quite slow. This will probably run the game fine to be honest, but looking into a more expensive or custom solution would be smarter in the long run. Cheap (typically mass manufactured) computers are never worth their life expectancy.Kernal32.dll error? Did you not look at the CPU? It's a piece of ****.
It has low IPC and wont run PWI beyond 10 FPS.
Yes it will use PF, and with a 5400RPM HDD it wont be good at all.
OP, seriously look at a machine with higher specs because this is a paperweight.0 -
You overestimate PW. I used to run it on a machine crappier than that from 2008. It ran about 20-40 FPS (usually, although west was 5-15FPS). PW just isn't that heavy really. Latency from the server will cause far more severe issues than a lack of processing from the APU, etc.
Also, to clarify, I said the game would run fine, not well or great. Fine meaning with graphics set to bare minimum. I am not defending that computer or its super weak components. I do think a better computer is recommended in general, but if low on money, this should be able to handle it at a minimum. Also assuming you don't do TW or events like Smoke Over Archosaur, where the boss and west Arch latency can cause my FPS to drop to 10.Kernal32.dll error? I guess it's back to searching and yes I am super strapped for cash currently trying to shop eBay for a laptop (seeing as I can't afford to have a desk top and purchase wifi at this time, Thank the heavens for free Wi-Fi) capable of running pwi at least on low or medium but I do need it to be capable of tw and nw along with events. X. X if all else fails guess it's my only choice.0

The U.S. and roughly $130 as I'm being loaned the money due to a lack of having a job at the moment. So yeah it's really not a lot to work with X. X I might just end up saving.0 -
If you can even save up enough to get this:

You would probably be far better off. Laptops are never a good idea for gaming, but they tend to be the cheaper option it seems. The specs on that laptop aren't the best either, but it's closer to your price range. That site has some pretty decent prices on laptops, take a look if you want. I've been shopping with them for years, I live near an actual store.0 -

They are correct, except for one stipulation: If it's a custom or gaming laptop. However, one of those, like mine, cost $2000 in parts. Runs like a beast though. Although I like to play games on my desktop system more.Kernal32.dll error? Get Arc XP for PWI because PWE Derpped -->http://www.nrgs.org/dev/arcxp/ArcXP.zip<-- (Don't select the arrows!)

Using that logic you can also say desktops suck for gaming.
They're only good for gaming if it's a custom gaming desktop!
Here's what should be said: Any computer with a low end CPU and without a dedicated GPU sucks for gaming.0 -
Except when it comes to PWI, a dedicated GPU doesn't make a whole lot of difference.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I am talking from a statistical standpoint. How many mass produced powerful laptops are there in comparison to low end ones. The ratio is quite far apart with low end ones on the winning side. So in general it could be said that laptops aren't great for gaming based on averages. The same does not apply to desktop systems because they have been in major decline over that last 6 years. The ratio for high end desktops to low end ones is shrinking and will likely continue to shrink because of tablets, smartphones, and special eyewear.Kernal32.dll error? Not for just displaying the game no.
But if you're like me and hate jaggies you'll need GPU for MSAA/CSAA.

i personally agree. I have gamed on laptops tons. The overheating issues are a real problem and can cause issues even with excellent cooling systems and outside support. A friend currently puts her laptop in the fridge....
I bought a desktop and am much happier.

Nope.
Clevo/Alienware/MSI/Asus all have great cooling on their non-thin&light laptops.
I really wish people would educate themselves before making such outrageous claims.0 -
Avoid laptops with i7 processors, unless you're sure it has really good cooling. My last laptop had an i7 and while it ran games fine, it inevitably overheated and shut down during an extended gaming session, unless the ambient temperature was down around 60 Fahrenheit. My current laptop has an i5, and while it doesn't perform quite as well on another, more recent MMO, it runs nice and cool.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Statistically speaking, I can't go either way on eirghan's statement. Laptops and desktops both get hot. Electricity is just another form of energy. I assume eirghan has likely dealt with HP or Dell laptops. I had many clients bring in HP and Dell laptops over the last few years that were overheating to extreme temperatures. On one occasion I suffered burns from an HP battery pack. The high temperatures (HP side) were a result of a combination of faulty battery packs, bad ventilation, and bad heat distribution caused by cheap thermal pads.
It's understandable to me, after an experience like that, why people would be hesitant to go for laptops and believe that they are all super hot.Kernal32.dll error? Get Arc XP for PWI because PWE Derpped -->http://www.nrgs.org/dev/arcxp/ArcXP.zip<-- (Don't select the arrows!)
