Hi all,

Tonight's maintenance will be at the usual time, from 11pm to 2am. There is no patch tonight.

Maintenance question: Where in space would you most like to see mankind visit before you die?

    First non-human reply!

There doesn't seem to be any new manual patch for this maintenance.
    At least not yet.

How far have we really gotten past the moon? We should visit the moon more often, and I don't think trips to Mars are that far off.

Waiting to see how the new engine tech develops, looks like warp drive may be an actual reality in the next generation.

Just because I feel super bad for them....is there going to be anything done for the poor people on Arch server that couldn't log in for a day? I figured I would ask for them since I haven't seen them ask yet.

Our sun/solar system is cruising around the center of our galaxy at 200 kilometers per second (~300 km per sec is speed of light in vacuum).

On a universal sight we won't move much before I die (our sun will do less than 20 more complete turns before it will become a supernova). I doubt that mankind is able to move faster with artificial methods than we are already moving. Enjoy the journey as long as it lasts. b:bye

I think she had an internet outage and assumed the servers were down since they were unreachable. Ohh well.

I'm curious when auction house functionality will be restored. I don't really care about the chronic inability to retain the correct fonts, but when I can't actually filter half of the categories in the AH for (assuming) several months it gets really annoying.

I don't enjoy having to play hide and seek for the items I am looking for all over the city, and for the sellers of those items to also have to play hide and seek to see competitors prices. This almost invariably leads to prices for the same things I could be getting in the AH to have 2-3 million coins tacked on as an "inconvenience fee."

At least I can still find skillbooks in AH, unsurprisingly at 50% or less than the same books in catshops.

Vacation? Quit? It wouldn't be out of the norm. All CMs seem to quit after a year or two.

Rumor has it he was part of the layoffs that swept through the company.

    Or he quit.

Either way...we won't know until the next CM announces his or herself. In the meantime, the Senior Administrators will manage us.

    This is what...the 4th or 5th CM? b:surrender

Did not know this, that explains why we aren't getting fixes as of yet. Thank you. Most relative info I've seen so far.

Dvorak, eatwithspoons, frankieraye, v4liance, and sparkiesoft.

Do I have that right? I remember the first 3 because I was around. Then the last one because they were the most recent. I think the 4th one was there at some point from a quick look around.

thats a rather morbid question. heres my morbid answer.

its not so much where i want to see mankind in space before i die rather, its what i want my death to be. the supermassive blackhole in the center of the universe.

if it were possible i would love to see first hand the scale of this monsters descruction as it sucks earth into it and compresses everything down into a singularity. new studdies have shown that our solar system will reach the supermassive blackhole well before our sun goes nova. provided we havent wiped ourselves out before then some lucky skrub is gonna get to see this.

Put plenty of robots exploring the red planet finding out about the surface and atmosphere. When people go there all what we are used to here on earth will need to be set up before anybody can even think of going there. Mind you it will need the backing of powerful special vested interest groups before anything can happen.

It'll most likely be a Lunar colony that gets established first. Research and/or mineral extraction. Once technology progresses, Mars is the next feasable planet to establish a human presence on, followed by some of the larger moons of Saturn (basing this on environmental factors).

There is this planet quite similar to Earth called Kepler-438b.. I would be quite curious if you can have a working life there.
