Purchasing Gold through ARC

I almost bought some gold this morning; not through ARC; through the PWI site. Like a lot of people, I bookmarked the old page and retained the option of buying 5 or 30 gold if I wanted to. The PWI page; https://billing.perfectworld/charge; was much better. As of this week, however, four different browsers have all started redirecting me to https://billing.arcgames.com instead. I won't lie; I was livid. In the end I didn't bother buying anything because that page is insulting.
Seriously, what sort of sales transaction starts with, "how much do you want to spend?" There's no mention of the real question, "what would you like to purchase?" Walk into any shop in the world and you will NOT be greeted with a question about how much money you'll be handing over before you even know what you'll be getting for that amount. If a sales assistant came up to you and said that, you'd leave the shop!
No joke, this game has a seriously bad reputation for greed and starting a transaction like that does little to disprove that reputation. There's no indication whatsoever of how much gold your chosen cash amount will give you until you're ready to click purchase and pay. It actually looks like you're making a donation to charity. I bet a lot of new customers have been put off by that.
So come on, PWI; stop this redirection bull. My money was worth exactly the same two weeks ago when I used the other site as it is today. More so in fact, because I won't use the ARC page and you won't get any money from me at all.

LOL, well if you had read a previous post, they clearly stated thay they would remove the wallet system
''The Perfect World Wallet system will be shut down in favor of the Arc Charge system starting on Tuesday 3/17.''
Also I don't see how the real question was ever 'what would you like to purchase' because realistically the only thing you can buy is zen. Did you think they also sell camels?
Some people don't like change, learn to suck it up rather than posting QQ that PW honestly don't give a damn about b:shocked0 -

Oh look, another forum sycophant with something stupid to say.
The point about asking what we want to purchase is relevant because ALL you get asked is how much you want to spend. It doesn't tell you how much Gold you'll get for that amount of money. In future, try reading and understanding a post before you mock it.
Finally; using your own feeble rhetoric; if you don't like my post suck it up and ignore it.0 -

somad brah
I read and understood your post and most of it was just unnecessary QQ. As for your ignorance,
you do realise PWI isn't the only game on arc, and the zen conversions for each are different. After clicking on an option and choosing a payment method and then choosing the game you wish to purchase for, it tells you exactly how much zen you will receive. It really should have been the other way around where you could just choose the game first, would have been a lot less hassle.0 -

cant agree more on that.
That was my first "wait a minute" moment when i wanted to check how much gold i would get when i purchase zen.
Its really weird that you have to pick your money first, then pick your way to pay it and THEN pwi tells you how much you are getting.
Normally its you either see directly how much gold (or any other money from other publishers) you get and how much it costs or you pick your gold and see how much it costs. Mostly the way to pay it is the last thing that comes up.
But yea PWI swings not that way. Not anymore.0 -

In which case, the first question should ask which game we're buying for. Now run along, you silly troll. I raised a perfectly valid concern and I've got no time for your ego trip.0 -

No. $1 always = 1 Gold for me.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I just tried to use Arc to purchase gold and it wouldn't let me. The option to select Game and Server are no longer there, just the option to select how much to spend, like OP stated.
However, after I selected the amount and hit the credit card button, it keeps popping up with an error:
"There was a problem with the game/server you selected. Please clear your cache and try again."
Which is a pretty stupid error considering I wasn't given the option to select a game/server. It's doing this with both the website and the Arc client, by the way. Anyone else having this problem?0 -
Hmm, still not working. Apparently they've broken their method for accruing income.
I wonder how long this will take to fix compared to in-game issues b:chuckle0 -

I'm having the same problem. I've tried in several different browsers. Hopefully, they are working on the problem.0
