i dont know what else to do than posting this here

the game is unplayable since few months (dcs, unable to connect, server error, etc. ...), on top i can barely open the homepage even (timeouts). i know there r several threads about this. but what else to do if neither the forums or the support isnt helpful at all ... ?

support doesnt answer (closes tickets without answering) or if im lucky and get an answer there r 2 possibilities:
1. some non topic related ****
2. blaming my isp
(funny part is i once listened to the support and did what they told me to do with my isp, after it was still the same problem ;D)

if i ask same question than again they copy their last answer and force close the tickets.

its not like that i dont cash from time to time (might not be the world but its something), i cant see that i get anything for it ...

could have at least expected that the support is after to keep the ppl here, but as i see even the support gave up on this game (or they just dont wanna work there anymore?)

and to the ppl who wanna say "stop QQin and quit". i play since 6 years, and as we all (or at least many) know we found a "2nd life" in the game so its not that easy to just turn the page and go away from it, at least not for me

and i bet this thread dun make it even far ... either it gets deleted or i get forum ban or it gets closed or whatever ... at least i tried something

    Usually these threads disappear because I ask the OP to read my sticky thread and come back with the information I need to help, and then they are never seen again.

    Every now and then they are kept alive by someone else hijacking the thread, but those die out too until they get necroed by some idjit later on. In the majority of cases, I never get the information i need to even make an attempt at assisting the OP with the issue.

    No offense but for what is than the Support? Sure forums is a place where u can search/give help but wouldnt that be kinda senseless if u have to do all on forums cause the Support is to lazy to do anything?
    Even more if its about some "deep" technical stuff, maybe there are a few people here who knows better than the Support guys, but i dont expect that (Support extinct again?)

    But anyways, here are the informations.

    The usual problem is that my ping in game shows like 200-500 (which is normal and im used to it), but every now and than (extending periods every day) ping shows still the normal one but nothing happens at all, sometimes game works again after few minutes sometimes nothing works at all. Yet it was only in evening (10pm - midnight CET) but as i said its extending, right now im having this problem from 1pm - midnight (+/-).

    What i tried:
    1. verifying client
    2. reinstalling game
    3. reinstalling arc+game
    4. resetting my network at home
    5. (as i already said i listened to support) called my ISP to release/renew my IP
    6. reinstalled whole computer (which wasnt directly for the game but nvm its a point^^)

    The forum is for user's like me, to help user's like you. Sadly, because of the way PWE operates, there's a pretty good chance I know a LOT more about the client and server operations than their support team. I have developed and run my own PWI server, and in the past I have also worked directly with the games developers in China.

    Now, the first thing I see in your report, that you missed in your troubleshooting......
    You have AVG. You absolutely must exclude the client and Arc folders from all of AVG's antivirus scans, and you must also allow them to pass through the firewall without being scanned.
    Additionally, since AVG does not see your local network as "trusted" your traceroutes are pretty much useless. First and last hops appear pretty normal, but everything in between got blocked by AVG. (I have the same issue with running a trace every time BitDefender upgrades)
    Once you have excluded the client, run a file verify three times back-to-back and then restart the PC.

    Disable the hard disk power down after 20 minutes. Especially if you run the client full-screen. It may end up powering off your hard drives while you are playing, and will cause problems.

    Your video driver is out-dated. download the latest driver from Nvidia. Looks like you probably have Windows default, which is ****.

    Other than that, it's looking pretty clean.

    OK, thats alot more information than i got of any ticket i made...
    Out of curiosity i deinstalled AVG (wanted to switch it anyway), the firewall is temporary deactivated so any traffic is allowed atm.

    System restarted and first problem is, ARC dont wanna start^^ got that problem fixed for now...

    The hard disk power down is off, and i play in window mode due to multiboxing.

    Driver is actualized (where i dont see an link to lags since it has nothing to do with network?), was an old one cause i had problems with the newest drivers in another game ... -_-

    If it works i can tell u as soon as the lag is comin back b:angry, which is i hope never

    Ok nvm ... the problem is still the same
    Unable to connect to server, if im lucky to login i see an empty account for ages ... when it finally decides to load my toons and i wanna start i get the black screen "Entering Perfect World"

    Im open for round 2 of troubleshooting^^

    AVG is the second best AV solution available. Personally, I'd recommend leaving it on. especially if you paid for it.

    With the Nvidia Driver, I know some of their latest "Game ready" driver releases have been a bit off, but the driver you're currently using is over 3 years old. Might not want to go that far back. :)

    You got any other ideas/solutions in mind?
    The Server ping is capped at 3k and thats what i see since my last post, seems like all other Servers r fine just not the east side

    Sounds like it's probably a issue on a router between you and the East coast servers. see if traceroute gives you some actual results now and post it.

    I see you have UAC on. Might want to try running the game as administrator if you haven't already tried that, and bypass ARC alltogether. Since you multiclient you should already have the icon for it.

    [Edit] You are also pinging/tracing the US Eastcoast server, verify that that is the server you are trying to log in to.

    Running as Administrator doesnt seem to help at all, turned off UAC - same result
    And ARC is already bypassed, non bypassed its the same

    Anyone have the IP to trace of west? or is it just pwiwest1.perfectworld.com?

    I use pwigc2.perfectworl.com for the west coast, Sanctuary server. All the server url's are listed in the sticky thread.

    I'm betting it's your modem blocking it, do you get traces like that for all addresses you trace?

    Today it seems pretty fine yet with the lag (had 2-3 dcs which isnt dramatically)
    The past 2 days were the worst in the last 3 months, couldnt log at all, at least i was able to play a bit today ... :3
