OK, this isnt a forum in which i'm asking for help, that stage is pasted now and anyone else who's having constant crashes since pwi released this new EXPANSION dont think it's your pc. read on~~~

Ive done everything the forum on this situation told me. updated all drivers exp antivirus software ETC ETC
even had the past week of pwi helping me find this problem and the cause of it TY FOR THE FAST REPLIES BTW but it went on for days and nothing seemed to fix it. till the end i was told to get tech support, i did turns out nothing is wrong with my PC. and after 12 "reinstallments of pwi" 5 reinstallments of windows within the past week i think i can say to anyone else who's having this problem with everything updated on pc, it's also not your computer.
I've gather some info on people who also have this problem with the crashes. before this new expansion you could have run pwi all day w/o it crashing because as "I" and many others believe what's causing the crashes now is constant ram/memory/cpu build up. now the first test was done by me. i started the pwi cilent also downloaded this software that i can tell my ram/cpu/gpu %, it SEEMS like whenever the ram clocks in around 75%ram 80%cpu it's when the crashes come in to play. also got others who have this problem to try this and the outcome has been the same. it seems even when in a "less populated" place W/graphics on low ETC ETC. pwi cilent still builds and takes more and more in memory. note these test have been done with nothing running in the background. pwi clocks in around 1,091,340K memory(and is still building) and skype FOR EXAMPLE clocks in somewhere between 4-5k see the problem?? I think if there's some software out there that can CAP the amount of memory is run on one app this shouldnt be a problem anymore. but this is just info i think alot of people need, so they dont go spend alot of money on upgrades which they dont need

i'm running at 5gb ram if any wondering.

Client is designed to auto-cap and dump unused components so that it doesn't exceed around 1.2GB of RAM usage. If yours is exceeding that, then I recommend you patch the client a few times. (Three times fixes, once or twice only won't get everything.)

I remember your other thread, but you never replied after my analysis of your issue. If you haven't fixed the mismatched RAM, then you're going to keep having problems.
Also, you never mentioned anything about the memory usage for the client.

If you want to keep working on the issue, you should go back to that thread, state specifically what you've tried, provide more details than you have thus far, and give updated information.

Still, with the mismatched RAM, you can't expect anything to function properly until you resolve that. Especially with programs as CPU intensive as this one.

PS, Dark Blue is nearly impossible to read on a dark background.

i did reply with analysis scroll down, but my ram isnt mismatched anymore. fully upgraded them all and since i'm using windows 7 32bit 5gb is all i'm allowed to use so dont think that's a problem anymore but yah anything that would help this entirely why not. i'll resend them

If you're using Win7 32-bit 4GB is all your OS will recognize, and your system doesn't have a configuration that would allow 5GB to function properly.

I know what you are saying about the memory problem here....with the game window open the memory slowly builds up to over 2 mill bites then the game client crashes on one of my pcs, on the 2nd pc the memory for the game will slowly build up to over 3 mill bites before crashing

The pc that slowly builds up to over 2 mill means in constant game play I can get a 2 hour time slot to play before the crash report happens

But i did find a bit of a work around when i want to cash shop or sit in reflection...if you restart the client to clear out the memory you can set up your kittyshop or turn on reflection but after you do start reflection say minimize the game window so ya cant see it and you can sit on for as long as you want to and the game memory will only sit at around 700k to 800k if you check it with task manager on your pc...be prepared for a occasional error report crash when you come back home and try to open up the window but ya have to restart the client anyway if ya wanna play some

Never had this problem till they did this expansion and I've been playing since beta

yah exactly. so why is it some people cilent is CAPPING AND RELEASING memory and some of us is just taking and taking. there's no release or cap but i'll redo my pc. new graphics card new ram and if it still dont work i'll believe it's a pwi file that's bug'd cause then again even if it's just my ram that's giving problems atm it dont explain all others who's having the same problem. and since this problem only began with new expansion i believe it's a mess up on pwi side. really hope they're looking into this problem

I did the triple verify on client, I use a memory optimiser, still get dcs. Personally I think there is a big problem with the login servers, related to arc defender (my dcs started when it went live on my arc accounts), but I'm sure pwe have a million excuses, sorry, reasons, why it can't possibly be their fault

It has few to do with CPU/GPU/RAM clocks, its more of a I/O problem. You have a problem on your HD OR the access to that folder is denied (yes, even with Admin permissions for Game.exe, elementclient.exe doesnt seem to inherit those permissions when its launched)

Go to PWI_en folder and get "Full control", overwrite permissions on all subfolders and files (Full access to you).
Also, disable NTFS compression/encryption if they're on for that folder.

cmd line for "taking full control on folder, subfolders and files":
    cacls <pwiFolderHere> /t /p %username%:F

And I repeat, the current version of PWI does not bottleneck CPU/GPU/RAM, ever (unless you have a veeeeery crappy hardware, which doesnt seem to be the case). Its not a problem with the game software itself, it's on your end.

I was having a weird crash everytime I went to etherblade, even after 'checking' the client over and over and over, what I said above fixed it once and for all.

Yeah, I got at least 1 crash everyday on two different PCs, one is old the other is newer.
Try to play in full screen it seems those crashes appear more often in widowed mode.. at least for me

Open a command prompt and run the command from there just as it is in the code. You will replace <pwiFolderHere> with the path of your PWI Folder. (i.e. C:\Games\PWI_en)

If you're a nab, then use Google. Do some research, reading, and educate yourself.

pwi is located in "C:\Program Files\PWI_en" but when i put it as is it says "the system cannot find the file specified" i put it as exactly cacls <C:\Program Files\PWI_en> /t /p %username%:F seems i'm doing something wrongb:shocked

OK, for this example, my client is saved on my second hard drive, and my user name is SylenThunder on this PC. Here is what I would use.
    cacls D:\Games\PWI_en /t /p SylenThunder:F

The output will look like this.....
    Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]

    C:\Users\SylenThunder>cacls D:\Games\PWI_en /t /p SylenThunder:F

For yours (assuming with data from your last Speccy), you would enter this...
    cacls "C:\Program Files\Perfect World Entertainment\PWI_en" /t /p kareem:F

Since your path has spaces in it, you must use the quotes around it to avoid getting an invalid path/command error.

NOTE: If you still have those mismatched memory modules, this still may not help you. Your mismatched memory module set is going to cause I/O errors. Been there, done that...

That's an indication of file corruption in your client.

all of these suggestions to fix the bugs are probably useful to people that actually understand what you're talking about. I, myself, have no idea how to find the information needed in order to figure out how to fix it on my end, a step by step would be very helpful. Some of us that play are not as tech savvy as the rest. I'm just a pc noob with an Alienware x51 running on Windows 7.

    Google is your friend....

If you're not tech savvy, but you find that you need to be.....
Then it's time to start looking around and doing some learning.
