any system to combat scamming in fsp?

be very carefull what u take in ur sq. as an advice take anything that drop to be sure no 1 stole it . then random at the end

    or resquad after toad boss drops are banked to avoid the whole situation to begin with.

    Explain pls how is that scamming?
    And who has the right to take a book from fsp or not?
    And why ppl do not do random fsp squad from the begging?

    its free for the sole purpose of banking pages from toad boss. afterwards, at least on sanctuary, you resquad to random before the next boss is started.

    Unfortunately, the book dropped at Toad boss. The free squad is just to bank pages AND set 1 person to throw AXEs properly. It's very unfair to pick-and-run when you know that the book is supposed to be random.

    -Taking a book while the squad is not on random is stealing. Thats just common sense.
    -Noone has the right to take the book unless the squad decided to give it to that player or to you have gotten it while the squad was on random.
    -It is free so that 1 player can pick the axes at toad and focus on that job instead of them going to a random person who might not know when to use it or not even notice he got it.

    Now that i see the other post as well, no it is not scamming in the sense that PWI can take any action against it. Just like they wont take any action when you borrow someone your pan gu tome and they dont give it back.
    Everything i write is from PvE perspective unless mentioned otherwise.

    yeah it is not scamming per se, just really really unfair and jerky (cant use more appropriate words in forum)

    It's because of the Axes at the Toad boss. A lot of people don't pay attention when the Axe is in their inventory or when it's the right time to throw it. Having the squad on free, and assigning someone to do the Axe is usually the best option. Then squads usually re-squad to random after Toad is dead.


    ..or at least that was the case at the beginning and people are just used to doing it this way.

    Its free because of the axe drops.

    Axes are not hard to do. All you have to is pay attention to use them. If you can't pay attention to one very simple boss mechanic and whether or not you get the drop for a few mins, then maybe you shouldn't be in a squad situation.
    FSP runs should be random from the beginning, IMO.

    This isn't technically 'scamming'. It's stealing a drop that was otherwise going to randomize to the squad.

    After a few people have stolen EoO's in FWS I just don't trust anybody anymore. If I have to random an item with squad I always drop it away from everybody and if someone starts getting antsy and getting too close... Well last time someone did that I didn't even wait for them, I kicked and KO'd out of FWS. Needless to say everyone was confused.....

    Recently Sage Puncture Wound dropped in FSP and I snatched that bugger up right away. After Prince died I went up to his throne to drop it there, and I stayed between the book and everyone else. Apparently the book is worth 100m on RT.

    In short, my anti-scam is to never trust people.

    People stealing EOOs is the best thing. They identify themselve for a paltry 3mil. Blacklisted and never squad again. The whole squad does that, some of their closer friends as well. I consider that nice and cheap. They do that with 20 other squads and they are pretty much done on the server.

    I like that, i can `trust` everyone and be happy if they prove me wrong cheaply. It doesnt happen that often at all. I had to blacklist less than a dozen people in 2 years of doing lots of PvE. (Ive probably been in more than 2000 squads during that time)

    The 300m books are disturbing though. This is an amount of money that can make people forget about their morals and their reputation and it is not a nice deal to pay that much for identifying one person for your blacklist b:sad

    As others have said, it's not scamming....it is being a <Insert Expletive> though.

    Drops in FSP are usually on free due to Toad, and his whole axes thing.

    For example, as the healer of the squad, I'm not focused so much on Toad's hp. I'm focused on each squad member's hp and buff/debuff list, so having an axe come into my inventory for example...would be ill-advised. Having it come to the inventory of the DD with the 2k ping wouldn't be advised either, nor the barb struggling to hold aggro/tank trying to time expel among other skills.

    But yeah. I'm sorry that happened to you OP. I do agree with Lolgasmic about taking preventative measures in future to ensure drops don't get stolen. (Don't know about kicking someone for walking in the general direction, but that's me.) A few of my friends and acquaintances often place drops behind me because they know they can trust me, and tell the others not to move, and for me only to pick up once sparkles wear off. Nobody really has an issue with that, as he's not holding them and they don't really have an issue with me, nor my integrity. I haven't seen too many drop thieves thankfully...but in future, you all might want to take preventative measures to avoid that.

    On dreamweaver, typically unless otherwise statted....

    Agreed, if you're really that scared of people taking drops then either take it yourself first or just set to random to begin with.

    asira, your just trying to give ppl a bad name now, you clam to never have seen the book in that shop before "your' fsp squad droped a book, but he bought that skill off bidding hall more then a week ago and its been sitting in his shop since, i would know since i've been passing by that shop more then once a day and even buying another skill from it earlier in the week. you've already given yourself a bad name on the server please stop

    it wasnt that book yet in bid more then a month also is a ticket not a book that book is there form today .. i always serch to buy/sell stuff. and spend quite lot of time looking in shops.. so pls dont cover.. about bad name.. no .. on srv was manny pm with him and hes alt.. so the more u guys struggle the more ppl see that is something u want to cover

    my goal was to ppl know with what they dealing.. to manny hide behind rrr9 main and are nice but on alt are thiefs garbage in words ect.. to manny think that been rrr9 can do anything ( they rulle the entire pwi system) i heard form some so >>

    I will say that if you don't know for absolute certain...without a shadow of a doubt that the catshop shown is that player, then it's not right to make the accusation this publicly. Keep in mind that some people do buy the books from bidding halls, and though remote, there still is a chance that it was another player selling it from a drop that they legitimately earned. I don't play on Archosaur, so I'm not saying that he is or isn't the player. I'm just saying that if you're going to make that announcement so publicly...be sure that you're right.

    Also, your links will likely get edited due to the rules of naming and shaming on forums. Just a heads up.

    Still sorry to hear that happened to you. You were victim to a drop thief, and that really is unfortunate...

    well wc in archosaur srv is.. childish ..ppl involved just couse is wc.. without no resson starting drama and cosing me or others hwo unfortunatelly were in that sq or happen same things about been insane ridiculous and others words ment to frighten ppl to not use wc even tho i aint stop.. thx for advice

    certain. first of all ( 5 days ago i was looking for a -3 chan stone and the owner of that shop was wc with seeling those kind of shards.. so i was there and look in hes shop days not 1 but days.. that book wasnt there idk if that is a prove or not but wasnt there like some claim...Toda suddenly random ppl start to pm and not just 1 .. with shop with names ... even tho i dont know them but they did know what happend yesterday.. when i start this thread i didnt know hwo own the alt was ppl hwo let as know. i dont have the right to list theyr names here.. but i did list in ticket with prints so i really hope there is and will be some sord of rulle against scammers and some how they will be punish

    in my country is a word> without a fire u cant see or smell the smoke .. idk if is understandable what i try to say .. if it was 1 2 or 3 pers i was wonder if is true or not and maybe i didnt open again the subject but was more then 3... also in my first line was require for help if any have info might help... guess ppl do help in those case:)

    I agree that it should not be a rule like no naming and shaming as long as you got a prove that the person you reffering to have done something bad.
    But what the person did is not scamming. Its a jerk cause he took a rare book and run with it but he didnt break any PWE rules.
    The rule to not take a book from FSP instance and keep it for you in a free squad but to deliver to leader or bank so he can resquad on random, drop the book, wait till it stops glowing( dont know if books really glows) then someone pick it up again so it can go to anyone bag , has been made by players so they can be fair with eachother.
    What happends with your sqaud was something bad, but the person didnt scammed anyone.
    PW aint gonna do a **** against him.
    All you can do is to BL him, find who his alts are and BL them too.

    Edit: can anyone tell me why its against naming and shaming even if you can prove the person has done something really bad. To me it doesnt soundf fair.

    I find this an interesting quote and its one of the most important things why i am a libertarian.

    In our western societies it sometimes seems that rules have become more important than morals. People can **** other people over as much as they can as long as it is within the law. It is so much better when morals and personal reputation are what govern human interaction. I have seen this in multiple areas of business that go mostly outside the radar of law. (1 of them being online gambling where i trust all those casinos that are based in banana republics to avoid both law and tax more than ill ever trust any car dealer, also other business that is very moral but cant be mentioned here because of the laws)

    I will love the day when everyone stops thinking about rules and starts being human b:pleased

    A book dropped, worth maybe 50~150m. Someone got it. They will make money out of it or use it. It will keep on happening, and it has always happened before.

    Users decide what the price and worth for the items are. If all buyers at all times buy the "Expensive" book for 10m, that price will start dropping. Since we don't, meh.

    Just be good humans, and the powers to be will reward you in some fashion for being a good human.
