100% Meat Shield

I was wondering if anyone has tested the notion of making a meatshield barb. What that means is you put every single stat point into vit...the design would be totally for having a shield in front of you to take all the damage. So for example at level 100 your Vit would be 505.

I know it isn't plausible but was wondering if anyone made a test char of something similar using a 95 stone, etc...

    Besides being unplayable, it would also be worthless besides the fun of being 1shot by HUGE figures instead of just big figures.

    lol as amusing as the idea is you wouldn't be able to wear any gear other than rings robe tome and a neck and belt, and based on those points you could wear some npc gear but thts bout it, on the same note though there are probably some catas who have gone with min stats for gear then sank the rest into vit.

    If you have terrible gear and might just be aproaching level 100, that might seem like an idea. You have 10k Hitpoints buffed in tiger and you are using 300 points in strength to wear gear that reduces incomming damage not all that well. Using those 300 points in vit would almost double your hitpoints.

    However, as soon as you get half decent gear, it will reduce the incomming damage by 80% or so. If you have end game gear, it will reduce incoming damage by 95% or so. (pdef maxes at 95%, mdef youll probably get around 85% reduction, and then comes the defence levels on top of that)

    Clearly that reduction is much more important than even doubling your hitpoints. So it is of primary importance that you can wear your equipment.

    On top of that, the value of those vit points also reduce as your gear gets better. If you have G16 or R9 gear and you refine it to +10 or +12, your total hitpoints in tiger form will range anywhere between 40k and 60k. Without putting a single point in vit that is. Now adding 300 points of vit for another 10k HPs is not all that impressive anymore.

    For those reasons i dont think anyone has tried it.

    Did it for ****s and giggles on a pill catshop. It had pretty nice HP... and utter **** for everything else to a point where my TT90 +3 casters could 1-shot it.

    could give it rank8 gear(no stat requirements) then only missing helm and weapon might be alright farm NW tokens with

    Yeah I would go with WannaBM here. My barb is all str and is pushing 25k hp buffed in tiger at lvl 88 with one rb. That is just with one peice of g15 niv gear that is +11 (I found uber cheap) rest of my gear is +5-7 on r8r with g16 niv hat/cape.

    With 6 S cards you have 18 stats available. Surely you should be able to get 120 or so str out of that. Add in all strength top level engraves and im sure we can actually wear R9 without putting a point in str.
    Everything i write is from PvE perspective unless mentioned otherwise.

    You could but the s-cards wouldn't be the nuema portal set (going for OP fantasy build here after all) and all that str/dex from engraves is str/dex not going into vit.


    It is very much possible to wear R9 with 5 base str, though. You can get 144 str from engraves + emperor as is. I'd make a calc of it but can't be bothered. lol

    Seeing as the OP doesnt want the OP fantasy build, but the strongest available gear to a 5 base str stat barb, id pose the question, if the OP isnt a massive cashshopping gamer with either lots of money to spend or lots of time, Is it possible. This means MAX of 1 S card(the S card u get from 10 As) ;ets say minimal engraves if any, and no Kestra Descent items.

    Without super CSing and/or dedicating absurd amounts of time to what would amount to a "for da lulz" alt, having this type of build in anything resembling decent equips isn't gonna happen. After all, it wouldn't even be able to survive many basic mobs til it got rank armor... and killing anything would be completely out of the question.

    Raging tides actually had multiple barbs who favoured Vit over anything that actually made them tank more. Perhaps the ideas and builds from other mmo's guided their decision. I have played some MMO's were you can be pure and still have decent armor to wear.

    Like there was a few r9r2 barbs with g15 (or some grade) morai axes that had 3x +19vit on it. But one barb in particular, I forget his name, something with saint in it, had put almost every stat point available into vitality. I can't remember what armor he actually used but he used to get 1 shot in any form of pvp by almost any class with mid-game gear.

    I really don't see the point in people who have money to spend, attempting to make these out of the ordinary builds. Back when TT99 was considered endgame, yes you could mix and match a little to be "different". But with rank gear dominating in EVERY aspect of the game, there is really no room for change. b:shocked
