Element client crash

So, I've been having this problem for 3 days now.
My element client stops working (I get the window pop up) as soon as I enter character selection screen. For two days, it took me a bunch of tries when I finally got in without the pop up. But now it won't work at all. I haven't done anything with my computer and everything is exactly the same as it was before this issue.
Anyone has any suggestions what to do? (I tried firewall things)

    I described it as it is. How can I post anything more detailed?
    The window says 'elementclient.exe is not working anymore'. Explains: Program was terminated because of malfunction. Windows will shut down the program and let you know if there's a solution (it doesn't give any solutions after I click the only button 'close program')

    my game also keeps on crashing extremely often after update even when i m in not crowded places.
    If a new upgrade is worse than the original then it's not ready for launch.

    Here, since you didn't read the sticky, I'll quote someone else on the forum again like I used to.
    Without details on any part of your system or network, I am at a loss to help you. I don't see why you guys don't think to post your system information when you start these threads.

    It's not hard, and if you aren't computer savvy, Google is your friend, you just have to make an attempt.

    Here's what we need to help you...


    Operating System Information

    System Specifications (I recommend Speccy)

    Security Software. (No link here, you're going to have to use your head on this one.)

    A DxDiag.txt log file.

    In some cases a HiJackThis log is also helpful.

    If the issue is related to lag, DC'ing, or connecting to a server post a copy of a traceroute to the server. (take it at the time that you are having a problem, not when you aren't having issues.)

    Also, if you are having trouble with lag, DC'ing, or connecting to a server, post specifics about how your computer is connected in your home, and details on your ISP connection. (If you don't know, ask your parent.)

    Before you post, actually look at the forum. There's a thread titled, "READ HERE FIRST for Tech Support Issues!". If half of you read it, you wouldn't be posting.

    Don't forget to search the forums to see if anyone has had the issue before and resolved it. You would be surprised at how many times I answer the same damn question over and over and over and over and over.... Kinda like the OP's post, I am constantly asking for more information. So much that I am now copy/pasting this re-using it.
    To be fair, I wrote the sticky to basically cover this in more detail, give you some troubleshooting to try, and get you halfway to fixing it or providing decent information before you even start a thread on your issue. Mostly because I was tired of pasting this quote into 90% of the threads that contain absolutely no helpful information aside from the problem.

    I take the claim that I didn't read that article as an insult.

    -I didn't change my network settings, I didn't update the PC after or short before the game update.
    -Before the game update everything was working. Crashes tending to zero.
    -Now there are crashes every few minutes.
    -A lot of other players face the same issue
    -RAM etc. don't complain
    -many active threads are saying the new patch was a fail
    -many active threads say they didn t send our lvl1-95 event item yet because they are worried to mess up more

    The chances that the game patch was faulty are much higher than the chance that I messed up.

    Ajust to the circumstances means not quoting nice lectures from here and there but beeing creativly helpful.

    I've only got Windows Firewal, no antivirus needed hence this computer is only for one or two games I play. I don't know how to upload the dxdiag. I could just copy paste it but it seems like a loooong list.

    Take it as an insult if you like, you have still completely failed at providing me with the basic information I ask for to be able to assist you.

    If it were an issue with the patch, it would be an issue everyone is experiencing. It's not, so it's on your end. I'm more than happy to help you narrow it down, but I can't unless you do the needful.

    Also, most threads complaining about the patch, A. Don't provide any useful information, B. They already admit to having a limited connection and issues with large patches.

    For the most part, it's usually the security software having an issue, and we go through this same thing with every single large patch or expansion. This one is no different.

    Your CPU is running a bit hot, and I still need a link to the published report, not a screenshot containing barely 5% of the available information.

    SylenThunder, same as here. Anyone that wants to poke me can, but if you don't state who you are and a reason why you're contacting me, it's likely to be ignored because of all the recent phishing and add attacks on Skype.

    sorry for the delay, I'm at work and we got a bit busy. I may be slow to respond as a result. I can only manage so many conversations at once b:surrender

    I wonder if some people noticed more crash since the update.

    The night after the update (I live in EU) i got a crash on two clients, one being on my laptop, the other one on my other PC while i maybe had only 2-3 crash this year so far. I relogged on my laptop before going to work, and noticed a new crash once back home. Then no problem while playing during the evening but last night once again crash on my two PC while my toons were just afk.
    If this occurs again after the new patch I will give more information but I'm surprised since this is on two different computers and only since new expansion.

    Ever since the recent update from 12/17/14 i have seen an increase in crashing or lost connection without any warning. I recently on 12/19/14 did a Verify, and saw that the patch or files were updating, thinking that it was going to correct the problem. the next day it seemed to get worse then on 12/20/14 i did a un-install and re-install of the client, still receiving errors. I have contacted customer support or GM Online through the game menus on the matter, I hope that these will stop in the near future.


    I see everyone else is experincing this, but in time it will be resolved, just makes it hard to do major instances like WarSong or Nation Wars

    That first start, it takes an awfully long time verifying the files. Makes me think you probably have security software causing an issue.

    Unfortunately, you didn't post anything I ask for so I really can't say more than "exclude the client from all AV/Security software, then verify the files at least three times". At this point in the thread, it should be pretty clear what information I require, and you have failed to provide it.

    unfortunately, not everyone else is experiencing it. The only places I've noticed increased latency is the FB89 and 99 instances, and that's for quite obvious reasons.

    Sadly, you also failed to provide any helpful information, so I am unable to assist you in finding a solution.
