Those Special Conversation Moments

Hi all,
As I am flapping around in game right now doing paper clip; thought I do a little writting on a subject that has stood out: Dat chat box.

I am not talking about world chat trolls that are curious about my mom. I am talking about hte people that fail at the basic mechanics or principles of chat. For example:

It starts off like this: "WTS (Item) (X)gold PM me!"
So I PM: "Hi I have X. What offer are you looking for?"
Chatter: "Who are you?"
Me: "Ummm...Name is shown to left of chat. So is the offer good?"
Chatter: "Who are you? Do I know you? Are you an alt?"
Me: "No... I am me. You offering that piece or not?"
Chatter: "I do not know you. Black list".


Whaaa???....


Now, this is not just once, but several times on my server there seems to be this mentality of "Post public offering, telling the world to PM you...Then, assumingly the people PMing you will be your close friends?" Whhhaaaa??? Did I miss a trend? is the just the "special" people on my Harhslands server? Is any one else experiencing this kind of brain fail? I guess they assume in their small world in their heads PWI is compsed of them and their friends only.
This happened to me on trade offers, grouping, etc... People asking random invites, then asking "Do I know you?" I jokingly said once: "Do you want my address? My real name? Because my screen name is clearly visible." they said: "Oh, no you just never know...You are not Keving by chance?" Whaaa??... -.-

The group organization fail:

Whether it is PV, or any dungeon, you have people in the know how to form and balance squads, and you have people learning the ropes. Today I had a specially special person.

World Chat: "PV X-X, Looking for more! PM me :) AOE 2 spots left".....
Me: "I will go please. Barb X level"
Chatter: "Why so many people pm me. I say AOE! Don't need barb".
Me: "Oh, sorry, thought invitation was more open. bye".
Chatter: "I got rb barb friend coming now, so don't need you" (instigating and provoking).
Me: "That is nice. So can I go if slot left?"
Chatter: "No why take more barbs? ALready have 1?"
ME: "Well I have done an all barb PV before, depends on the barb, if you say you have RB it should be doable. Also in English, your invitation was open" (I explain how if the sentence was reversed: "Need AOE, PM me" she would not have this problem).
Chatter: "Yeah but we got 4 rb peoples why need more?"
Me: "I do not know. Its up to you. Your group. But you wont shut up,"
Chatter: "That is you babe".
Me: "you keep world chatting 'need more'... I thought you dont need barb, AOE?"
Chatter: "Maybe both?"
Me: "No...scroll up, you say you wanted AOE and tired of others pming you...welcome to black list".


Brains... They sure do not make them like they used to. Kinda broken XD

Any how. They make me laugh. Make me feel good that mine still ticks despite it's imperfections. Not as damaged as that! whewwww!

How about you? Any "interesting" conversations with anyone lately? b:laugh

    It's not entirely the players fail when they ask if they know you.

    The reason is how PWI works. In most games you add your friends account to friendslist, but here only 1 of possibly an army of characters. I wish the devs would change this in the future. So that you add players account and not character. Then this sort of madness would naturally stop.

    One of the most epic ones I remember (in the times of caster nirvana):

    World chat: LF more for caster, no more mystics
    Tho I'm not a mystic, I couldn't just pass it
    Me (in pm): No more mystics? You sure??
    Chatter: I have already 3 mystics in squad, don't need more
    *facepalm* Okay...

    Me in worldchat: WTB warsong medals
    Seller: I got many, can you wait me till I'm done with gbq?
    Me (refusing other sellers): sure
    After 15 minute (yes, took a while) the seller returns and links me warsong emblems: you need those, right?

    yeah that is not an exuse. Especially when you are asking in a world chat that is open to all. If you have that friends list, you use that to sell. Not the wc....

    I have sort of linked it to asia. A lot of asiatics use that. I find out when I get ai n a guild full of them and they saying! "Ok babe." "Sure hun".

    A lot of Isrealians are using "Bro" and "yo" and "Mate".

    Worst, one time I got in an mmorpg, some anime one I won't name, and everyone did this baby language:: "Yiziziz, howp all" = hi all.
    "heihi ki irirkiii chew mah me?" = You mad at me?
    "Me noha wana" = no thanks.
    I thought it was broken English, then I learned the entire game and guild was majority US and spoke English. They sort of feed off this baby chiby anime mentality. I slowly started seeing myself doing it at times since I had no choice really and it started to become "reflexive"....*shiver*....my soiled dirty ***** hands! b:cry

    Ahh, such a good thing I can do anything this game offers alone and purely alone. Only opening stuff is a drag sometimes...but at least I don't have to deal with that kind of problems.

    Second, as an Israeli I find it hilarious that that's how most Israeli's are acting
    Third, I FREAKING HATE WHEN RANDOM PEOPLE CALL ME BABE
    Fourth, happened to me the other day:
    WC: Forming (Insert Instance here) No Sins (this has become annoyingly common for someone with a sin main)
    Me: I am on my sin do you mind holding a spot for a second while I switch my other client?
    WC person: No you have a sin no spot for you!!b:angry

    I mean I'm ok with you not accepting sins for whatever reason, I'm used to it. But not letting me bring another class just because my mains a sin? b:surrender

    I don't see anything wrong with having more mystics. Squad support, good DD, and plants galore.


    @ OP, played properly, a barb is a pretty decent AOE class, RB or not. Either way, that person was obviously not being as descriptive as they should have been.


    Sometimes though, it's partially due to translations and issues managing the English language as your second or third language.

    That's why I was amazed. 6 mystics (or 5 + 1 debuffer) is the best squad one could wish for that instance. But I saw so many mystics who didn't even bother to summon their magic pet, that I partly understand why that person didn't have a clue why there couldn't be too many mystics for nv b:chuckle Nevertheless looked so wrong b:laugh

    Was doing fsp once from world chat.

    Leader: 8 spots to fsp.
    Me: Sin
    Leader: no more sins
    Me: linked r9r3 +10 wep
    Leader: no more sins sry

    Then i log seeker and got invite. What i see? 1 cleric and 3 seeker(me 4th) and thats all. And later she took g15 sin with 6k hp and all was g16 or worse b:shutup

    As for the topic.. I have hard time thinking of a perfect example right now but these scenarios do tend to happen quite often. It's also when I PM like "LFM for BH XX, PM class, prefer non-rb (we were training our cleric)" I get responses like:

    "inv I need"
    "can I log my alt?"
    "I can solo it for you"

    The one I can't stand is

    LF Some high level to Solo bh for me pm.

    Normally its a BH 69-79. And when you pm them to try to get a spot in squad they don't want you unless you can solo for them. Now they use a good 4-5 teles to get this "Soloer" for themselves and get pissy at the tons of other pm's they get from people who also need the BH . Gotta love the frost baby generation floating about there now. b:surrender

    For the love of Camelot, I could rant on forever how creepy it is when strangers try to get on personal base pet names like that. I instantly think them annoying and blacklist them. People who try to be too sweet even in real life come across as fake and creepy.

    As for people calling me hun etc... I once told one lady to stop it because it makes me feel uncomfortable, said person started telling me how it's a southern USA way and she's trying to be nice and she ended ragequitting faction, saying that we do not accept her politeness. b:shutup Had few others get mad at me for asking them not to call me "pet names".

    me: well i think you need to redo that conversation after clicking your friends name and seeing pink instead of blue
    person: i was wondering why his name was blue

    person: oh yea i just figured he changed it
    (this was 4 years ago when i played an alt on sanctuary server)

    I used to tell people to stop calling me "Baby" or "Babe" and it didnt work. So i just say:" Pedo or something?". I might be old-fashioned, but to me "baby" means just that: A baby. Someone hitting on someone calling them baby is to me as weird as calling their lovers "toddler".
    It works pretty good.

    Sometimes i just respond with "whats up granny?", but especially girls seem to like that even more :T

    Whats even worser than calling people babe is writing anything negative with "^^".
    "Sorry, but i know it better^^"
    "This boss doesnt need debuffs^^"
    "Only barbs get bramble, trust me^^".#

    I bl people who do that ingame to me or friends for at least a week and then keep stalkling them with death stares and let them feel my wrath till im satisfied. Im doing that with everyone i dont like but dont wanna talk to either.
