    bumping because i can, and because i have a general question for peoples out there (because it's 2am and insomnia loves me)


    anyways, with summer coming to a close, i was curious as to what people did? where did you go? what movies did you see/love/hate? what did you do when you weren't wasting your life away on an mmo? =)

    Didn't even get to waste my life on an MMO. b:cry

    And go to sleep. I'm the only one allowed to be up at 2 AM for no good reason. b:laugh

    I saw Maleficient and Guardians of the Galaxy. Both movies were OK, but I think the latter would be much more enjoyable if I were stoned when watching it.

    This past weekend, my boyfriend took me to Mackinaw City for the weekend as a birthday gift. It was nice, but aside from a lot of shopping and buying fudge from 13 different shops, there wasn't much to do. I was also kind of hoping for something a little more relaxing...

    Yea, Mackinac Island is great for fudge but really it's just one of those touristy places and there isn't much do but shop.

    Have you ever been to Sleeping Bear Dunes?

    Nope, haven't been there. But it honestly looks a lot more enjoyable than Mackinac Island. To be honest, my favorite parts were the carriage tour and butterfly house. The curator for the butterfly house let us in just after it closed, when the butterflies were nestling in to go to sleep, so I was able to get some really good pictures.

    I don't know, maybe I'm just getting old; trail riding and camping seems to be a lot more fun to me than shopping and touring a giant hotel that I'll never be able to afford to stay in...

    oh i'd love to see the butterfly house! sounds like that was fun :)

    i spent most of my summer playing an mmo and visiting with my nieces a ton. it was good to get to spend so much time with them :)

    Yeah, I actually considered working at the hotel once just to be able to stay there. :3 Since they had a program they let the people working the summer there stay free, but you had to be willing to do all the things including stuff not in your job description. Plus I didn't have the time just for that. My co-worker did though and said it was a great experience.

    And honestly, there are some extremely beautiful places to camp in Michigan anyway. Much prettier than the hotel. At least IMO. Even some of the less nice hotels are nice if you can get out into nature trails and such. I remember once I stayed at this indian casino up north and then went on a nature walk with a group from uni. We all went out to the Lake and I stood out on top an ice sheet in the middle of the lake. That was awesome. The whole place was beautiful out there, even if it was cold. I ended up liking that more than the hotel. Even though I played blackjack and won like double my money. :3

    The new classes worry me. :|

    Aside from that, I like that they're giving lowbies something this time around. All the endgame aimed content was getting rather silly, IMO, and it's good to see them giving something to the lower levels for once.

    holiday season is right around the corner. hope everyone has safe and happy holidays with lots of joy, friends, and family :)

    anyone gonna be doing something special? dressing up as something fun for halloween (Samhain, or whatever you choose to call it?) Got a nifty recipe for something fabulous to share? come on people, lets get some chatter going here!

    My daughter convinced me to dress up as Maleficent when I take her trick or treating. I'm not doing anything special for Samhain though; energy is just too low and my daughter is too inquisitive about things she doesn't understand.
