PvE/FSP Barb

I am currently switching from Morai g15 to full g16 (based on advice from here, which btw, thank you all, the difference was quite noticeable in the upgrade).
I have a couple more pieces to upgrade, but am looking now to run PvE instances, most notably FSP.
I am very familiar with FSP, from a ranged DD point of view (and usually do axes on Toad).
I've never tanked it though or even taken the barb through yet. I'm wondering if I could get some pointers, what to look for and whats the best way to build a genie specifically for FSP. Also, what the comfort range is for stats (HP, pdef, etc)

    Well, as barb advices i can give u are, violent triumph when u pull him, so the 1st axe doesnt stun you if u get it, try to have stomp of the king and spam it, great to keep aggro, about chi dw much, he bleeds u and gives 150 chi from time to time, and on genie maybe alpha male to recover aggro if u lose it. Is not hard to tank him dont worry, usually rest of the squad fails on triple saprking right at the start or things like that.

    Anyways.. As barb keep the frontal of the boss away from squad - all the time. The first axe he throws will make you loose agro if you get stunned, but as already mentioned violent triumph can handle that issue, though its not needed if somebody else already hit the boss (or cleric heal you) BEFORE he going to throw the axe. Also important to actually take the agro of boss (just hit once with flesh ream or so) before you pull it to some corner, so nobody draws agro right away in case cleric heal you or someone cast a skill to attack.
    If you notice the red text that appears in chat, the boss have a pattern.

    1st red text is about throwing the axe at him.
    2nd red text is him throwing the axe at a squadmember.
    3rd red text is him doing the frontal aoe 1-shot to everyone except barbarians.
    (notice only 2nd and 3rd text appears when you first time agro him)

    It's kinda cool to know imo, because if you have trouble keep agro from the squad, you will know when they truly are in danger (aka when the 3rd text is about to pop up)

    For a genie I honestly never use it in FSP because I'm that cheap. But I suppose cloud eruption always good to have if you feel troublesome with chi, and alpha male in critical situations (forexample if you loose the agro and is that unlucky to get stunned from the 2nd red text, there usually not enough time to grap agro back before 3rd text appears, unless using alpha male). A barbarian without the AEU skill stomp will probably find this important.

    -Stomp of the King is pretty great for this and any other boss you want to tank

    -Keep his frontal area away from a squad. If you struck it with an attack (Onslaught/A.Rage/Stomp) beforehand, an early stun shouldn't be a big deal unless you've got some gung-ho DDs bothering with Toad so soon (since its an AoE).

    -If someone gets DoT's, that means they're drawing the second highest amount of aggro, so they should be mindful of their threat from damage output

    -Chi? If you've got a venomancer, its a non-issue (unless they refuse to share with you). Otherwise I'd just use Bestial Rage whenever its cooldown is over and throw other attacks between Reams

    (Ream>Stomp>Ream>S.Impact>Ream>Frighten>ect)

    -It should be noted that Axes are Elementally immune, so if they happen to spawn on you, you can strike them for the drop as well

    -Idk, I've tanked it with a generic APS armor setup with about 17k HP without much issue Its not particularly bad since it doesn't use magic attacks. Azoth Drake was a bigger nuisance imo because of the whirlpools and occasional water spells/DoTs

    Thanks all for the advice here. Been tanking FSP with no problems.

    Especially want to say thanks for the tip about Stomp of the King. What a huge difference in aggro management with that skill. b:thanks

    (Even though it says it greatly increases threat, I don't put alot of credence in PWI descriptions that use words like "greatly" or "massive", I had no idea it would work so well until you guys suggested it)
