Hi all, reference to original thread: http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1707681
First, thank you contributors to my original questions. I wrote it all down, and have used it as a guide in my leveling up. I hope this response post catches your attention and you can respond here. Of course this is also open to all others to drop their wisdom.
Looking back at this old thread you will notice we talked about quest lines tapering off around 80 and the best thing to do was PV, FSP, and BH's. Well, I just hit 90 and am a bit of a stale mate.
PV helps A LOT. But out of 5 days of the week and they average like this: 2 PV runs end in failure (noob pug).
2 are very slow (balanced group of 80's and 90's slowly pulling since cant OP the cave. Full cave clear. Only 2% gained on the HP bar.
1 is success and OP player pulls entire PV cave, and we run it 3 times, I usually level or get close.
That is my PV experience. Not very easy to pull off and do other things in a week (requires glued to wc waiting for that one guy asking, then being in luck it is the 1 success run.
I do BH, that is decent. But trickles in the HP. And of course always requires one OP guild member to run it for me.
FSP....I have not recieved a single quest for it, and it is probably going to require I have better gear to even consider being useful in it.
I am fully caught up to my Cultivation Quests. I have all my key spells, and the only thing I miss now, for my level, are some books like "anti-stun" etc...would be nice to have, but so far not neccessary.
So that is where I am at. Just watching WC for those key runs, and now that Jolly Jones is over, I try and do quests that have decent money rewards (some are Charm traps that give too little for what you have to kill).
My question. Am I missing something level 90 on now? Every where I look in guild chat I see Sins log in solo, announcing: "I just soloed PV 80" (Sin level 80) - Next week; "I just got my TT weap" - Next week "Look at all these molds I am showered in farming for mats for my alt" as they now push 95 into level 100. They play casually, and solo.... I am sitting here like "I just died trying to run BH59 Solo"......
"Oh gear problem". OK, I am wearing This: http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/i...2012-45-41.jpg
Notice I have Some Royal pieces and those other pieces that are naturally given as you quest and other pieces (all donated by nice players feeling sorry for me). I tried researching how to get my barb out of this armor rut. And of course the response is: "You need TT90". But to do TT90, I need better gear... So that vicious cycle of "you need this, but can't get it, unless you are wearing it already DERP" or of course get a group...and no one wants low level barb when they can speed run with OP farmers in TT. Thankfully I have nice friends willing to help farm, but that could take some time, their free time. And of course they are not going to burn weeks on lvl90 gear, then turn around to get my G16 lvl 100 stuff. So they are G16 farming for me, and tell me "get to lvl 100 and it is yours"....
So I jokingly reply, "ok in year 2020 ill be 100". Because honostly, that is how long it is taking...I feel like I am missing something because every dya a SIN (my only class to compare since so many new players roll a sin and I have not leveled up with other classes), comes on, we play the same times, same hours, same days, and start same level, and they pass me...no lap me x3 over! IT has happened with at least three new sin players joining guild at level 70, we match each others gear posting our "Royal" weapons....then next week he is R9+... did I miss something?
I understand some classes slower than others, and some can't solo other things others can...but any Barbarian pro's out there have any tips to leveling 90+?
IS there a daily quest or event I should be doing? (besides PV etc.). I usually let the quests guide me to the next map area appropriate for my level, so far nothing special just that silly "World History" quest.... I DID GET THE PERFECT DAILY ATTENDENCE RING! Woo! (90 pages).
I am currently eyeing the axe: Calamity Axes of Blood http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/items/8287 as an upgrade. Since it requires mostly open world resources to make (lumber etc..) and I have the mold... It is a small step in the right direction I guess...
Any how. Any suggestions would be welcomed. I have a very strong feeling there is no secret spot I am missing. I probably just need to get luckier in PV or start multiboxing??? I Dunno, any tips hints or anything would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Nothing can really be done here except find a group of players that you can always level with.
The "OP" players you find in lower-levelled PV are usually rebirthed characters or alts of a very highly geared player.Rapeaxe - Harshlands wrote: »Notice I have Some Royal pieces and those other pieces that are naturally given as you quest and other pieces (all donated by nice players feeling sorry for me). You don't need higher-levelled armor. HH/TT90 can be obtained wearing TT/HH80. The problem is you actually need to care about the mechanics of the boss-fights, and have a proper squad with proper coordination. At that gear level you actually need to treat TT like a RAID instance with proper positioning and strategy.
It just so happens most people got lazy, with G16/R9/R9R/R9RR you can just steam-roll the instance like nothing. No need for the right classes, no need for strategy. R9RR characters can just face-tank whatever boss mechanics there are - they don't even need healers.Rapeaxe - Harshlands wrote: »So I jokingly reply, "ok in year 2020 ill be 100". Don't get discouraged. You had no chance at keeping up. The character was LIKELY a rebirthed character - meaning it had a 4x or 3.5x multiplier bonus to the EXP it receives. You get this same bonus when you rebirth your character.
The reason they were likely not wearing R9 was due to not having enough stats to actually wear their previously gotten R9.
What can you do? You can use the Auto-Cultivation system (bot). Hit Ctrl+F12, setup a macro and put your character in an area where it can comfortably destroy all monsters. Leave your bot on when your AFK. Use the Realm of reflection when you're AFK too. You get free EXP for being AFK.
As a 90 participate in the Cube of Fate. Unfortunately this can cost quite a lot of coins if you get the wrong rooms. But at 1 million EXP a run you can level from 99->100 in 30 days.
Aside from that - stick it out. Players in 2008/2009 went through an experience worse than yours. The trick is do not look at the percentage you've earned. Look at the raw number. Set a goal - 1 million exp. If you achieved it, that's good enough. Players in 2009 set goals much lower - 500,000 exp in a day was considered great. 350,000 exp in a day was good. 250,000 exp in a day was achievable after hours of mundane mob-killing. 1 million exp a day was for the rich people who could afford charms, dice-tickets, and paying to pass.0 -

You miss, that it is game for cash shoppers, which require great infusions of money and time.
For your situation I can propose to play on cleric and barbarian on same time on two accounts of pwi.
You will be able to solo some things, but it will require your time.0 -
Levelling the first 100 sucks.
Nothing can really be done here except find a group of players that you can always level with.
The "OP" players you find in lower-levelled PV are usually rebirthed characters or alts of a very highly geared player.
Got ya. Yeah, those "1 average per day success runs" I noted are uually RB nicely decked out.
You don't need higher-levelled armor. HH/TT90 can be obtained wearing TT/HH80. The problem is you actually need to care about the mechanics of the boss-fights, and have a proper squad with proper coordination. I would be more than happy to run, FINALY, a real mmorpg like strategy dungeon! Woo! Sadly, no one has groups for that. All sin "stealth to boss" TT runs. Your server might have better luck. But this is a point I will have to give up on, because I literally could win the lottory before getting these kinds of groups up.
It just so happens most people got lazy, with G16/R9/R9R/R9RR you can just steam-roll the instance like nothing. No need for the right classes, no need for strategy. R9RR characters can just face-tank whatever boss mechanics there are - they don't even need healers.
Agreed. But still curious how those "sins soloing TT and PV" are doing it alone, same armor as me. No main helping etc. Admitadly, the Sin player recently said "I Solloed all pv, I Am now 95 and PV 95 is hard and I can not do it". So there are limits. But thanks to your feed back, I am not alone. Seems like just Sins good at that, and us barbs need the full group experience.
Don't get discouraged. You had no chance at keeping up. The character was LIKELY a rebirthed character - meaning it had a 4x or 3.5x multiplier bonus to the EXP it receives. You get this same bonus when you rebirth your character.
I won't give up! Thanks for the words!
That guy was not RB. In fact I over the last 5 months, I have changed into 3 to 4 different guilds (finally found my home). And these are those small start up or hand me down guilds with bases that look for new "+30 non pk" sort of stuff looking for noobs. I get in. Meet others, we compare armor, levels, etc...they are not RB or logging in other accounts. After coming back to this game, playing along side SINS, it is clear PWI made them specifically to answer to the "it's too hard' call (along with the other changes to get us to 100 faster). So in a way, I sort of expect them to be OP. I just want to make sure that there are not fellow barbs out there that found a way to keep up with it all. But I guess we play the old hand: "Group. Strategy. Get dedicated groups that have known success rate". Which is cool. I enjoy this game play (I do not like lazy approaches). Just want to be sure I am not missing anything. When I came back a few months ago (original post in the top of this post), I was level 55. I had no idea about the Free Charms in Arch or Jolly Jones until it was nearly too late.
I use the Auto culti on quests like "Kill 80", but it bugs out 50% of the time running in a circle as a mob chases you around attacking you. You literally have to babysit the bot system before it kills you. Also, must be charmed to really profit. No auto pots or Charm = dead (again, armor HP boost thing). Unless there are key mobs that I can regen fast enough between fights. But as I run across other players botting. Always charmed. I do reflection too, but can't over night it because gaming laptop overheats.
As a 90 participate in the Cube of Fate. Unfortunately this can cost quite a lot of coins if you get the wrong rooms. But at 1 million EXP a run you can level from 99->100 in 30 days.
Oh thanks! Almost forgot about Cube! I will read up on it in guides etc..
Aside from that - stick it out. Players in 2008/2009 went through an experience worse than yours. The trick is do not look at the percentage you've earned. Look at the raw number. Set a goal - 1 million exp. If you achieved it, that's good enough. Yeah, I was around before PWI existed (we were on the only global english servers in Malaysia). Then came to PWI. Got to level 55 on Barb before Sirens update. Quit to take a break, just came back. I am not an impatient player. I just know I have things to learn with the new updates. People always talking about Morai, etc...I do not even know where it is or what level things start there...or if it is guided by level and not a "cube" like thing where you have to teleport to it... That is why I say I let the quest progression naturally lead me to where I should be. Hence, this post, to see if you know what I "should be doing" or "should be at". Thanks for all the advice! I will have to read up on cube now (some one said in the original thread, that it is a waste of time, but I hear it is profitable)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
90-95 is really hard indeed. Cube of Fate is your best bet as mentioned above.
At 95 it gets easier because you can enter Morai. Doing the Morai quests will get you close to 96, and the dailies there give a good amount of xp.0 -
I'm assuming you are not reborn ( photobucket page wouldn't load ), so FSP isn't available until you are reborn and level 100 again.
BHs are a must. Make sure you stack them. At your current level you will often get all 3 in BH79 which is great, some days one will be BH89 (Eden or Brim).
BH79 is easily then most sought after instance ( pre100 ) on my server, so you should easily find a group if your guild can't help.
Use meditation when you can and do the Paperclip quest. I liked neither and avoided most of the time, but if you are really struggling to level its crazy to waste.
Paperclip will give you 2m - 2.7m per day when you go reborn, so if you still want to avoid it good luck.
Crazy stone takes 15 minutes per day and costs very little at that level.
Quests, you're right, do pretty well run out and IMO are not worth the EXP anyway.
PV I didn't bother with after the lower levels ( I was never big on Hyper usage as I found them quite expensive) and PV gives no drops.
Once you do your Sage / Demon cultivation you can enter Lothranis and Momagnon. Not a staggering number of new quests there but lots of grindable areas.
At 95 you get to enter Morai which has a nice quest chain with good XP and daily quests also. There is also a decent lvl 95 gear set you can work toward.
The big jewel for me was Assault on Archosaur every Friday - power grinding for up to 6 hours. Money, mirages and tags you turn in for even more XP.
NOTE ( every Friday on PWI means more often than NOT xd ) Starts around 16.00 GMT - 22.00
Mobs come in waves starting from ridiculously easy ( one-shottable by level 40s ) to quite tricky but still do-able at 90. Make sure as a barb you select the melee mobs.
After a long 'Good' Friday I often rested on Saturdays, then would do several hours grinding on Sunday ( for coins as much as XP).
I'm not a huge fan of grinding but its ok if you don't overdo it, and a necessary evil for a veno to level pets. Nowadays we have auto-cultivating too, so you could look into that.
Gear wise the Master's gear (gold level 80 ) from BH69 and BH 79 bosses is nice until about 95, though it is armour and weapon only. Rings, necks will usually come from mold drops ( or AH ).
Try a BH79 with a group that includes a cleric and see how you do survival wise and aggro wise. That will give you a pointer as to whether you need an immediate gear upgrade.
Be aware of your gear and watch out for bargains, but don't over-obsess. Levelling IMO is about learning you class, skills and teamwork with others. If anyone in a squad is OP you will learn the game mechanics a lot less. Having a well-geared reborn Psychic tanking Polearm teaches you nothing as a barb.
Have fun. Stay patient.0 -
I don't know if you have any OP friends willing to do it. I lvl my son's toon on lvl 108 mobs. He activates hypers for 1 hour while my cleric just kills everything on auto-culti. No picking of drops or anything. He gains approximately 4m exp during that hour and hovers at least 5m above me on follow. At lvl 90 that's like just less than half a lvl. He's 92 now so gaining about 25%+ of a level. He doesn't do PV so he spend the whole time on hyper. If you PV save yourself 15 mins hyper time.
Also consider marrying your alt and dual client marriage quest.
95+ indeed gets easier with morai.0 -
For a vit. barb even PV95+ shouldn't be too much of a problem to solo. Just gotta keep pulls reasonable, not taking more than you can chew. This requires decent armors and calamities are useful too, though(TT90+3 sharded should be easily enough). And buffs are a necessity(at least cleric buffs and BP).
Ofc TT90-armors cost a bit, but they're worth it. If you're demon, demon Bestial Onslaught ish also super-helpful skill to have.
When Kitty's soloing PVs she usually slams mid-pulls to soften mobs a bit and when pull ish of a good size Kitty uses Bestial Rage - Invoke - 3-spark - Tangling Mire(Genie skill) - Sunder - Tree of Protection - demon BO - Arma - Firestorm - Slam. If that's not enough to kill majority of mobs Kitty continues running till Bestial Rage ish off the CD, then BR - Solid Shield - Sunder - Bestial Onslaught - Firestorm - Swell - Slam.
On sage barb Kitty does almost the same thingie except that Kitty doesn't use BO on it but Swell after Firestorm. And after Invoke's off Kitty runs till she can use it again. Sage barb's damage isn't enough to Solid Shield-combo, that extra 35% crit rate of demon's helps so much.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I've not ran a single Frostcovered run for XP on my 100+ toons. My own ways of XPing up:
- Sign in "quest". Duh.
- Daily stacked BH, meaning you leave todays BH's, turn them in tomorrow and get the full BH1, BH2 and BH3 stack.
- Daily blue and purple Divine Emissary quests. Since you refresh BHs when you start playing, you can pick those up as well.
- Realm of Reflection. Leaving your character there for half a day at level 90-99 can still get you a decent bunch of XP.
- Faction Base quest.
- Morai Dailies at 95+. If you want to, use your influence to buy the Experience Jades for another 600k-1kk XP (5th tier of the basic supplier of your order)
- When BH EU is on the questlist, join a BH EU squad. Even if you don't have the BH, you can still get the extra reward from Zirik Slahn at the end, which is an XP pill for 400k XP.
- Autocultivation. If you bot freezes as you're previously stating, then you've either not configured skills properly or you're using an unsuitable area. Since I didn't read what your class is I can't advise further on that - if barb I need to know if you're an APS, VIT or STR build - each has their own ways to use autoculti. If you can reach, the lake where you enter Morai is a safe place to bot usually, melee mobs that don't auto aggro. Good for testing stuff.
- Depending on flier speed, the Paperclip for Villa quest can still give okayish xp. Can be boring though.I'm so P.R.O... I Press Respawn Often.

okay let me tell you how i leved my barb and my friends seeker from 95-100 in a week.
1. make sure u do your dailies (morai, bhs)
2. This gives me the most exp, but it is a bit costly. Go in valley of the scarred in OHT, as you enter the mobs u see there are all physical.
What i did on my barb is to hyper as i pull all mobs let them give me triple sprk and aoe until they die. They dont hit hard so tanking is not a problem if you have BP. Keep repeating this process you should get .5-.7% for a complete pull. Since they respawn fast doing multpile full pulls can be done quite often. Gl on leveling
oh and get calamity axe of blood the proc and crit is awesome and helps killling fast0 -

also its not a daily like cube but doing the tiger event on Mondays can give you 1 million exp and 1 million coins if you can get in the top 10. i don't know how it is on your server but i know on mine there is usually not even 10 barbs that do it per event so it would be easy to get. good exp and some coin to save up for other things0 -
I made a list of the daily quests from lv90-99 and it can be found here
http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1713311
World Quest is a nice boost to exp and if you have the funds and a teleport bell it can be completed in about 15 minutes.
Cube is a great way to get 1mil EXP each day. To do it you will need several do-all cards (they can be bought from catshops or made with tokens), some dice (bought from catshops or made with mysterious chips), a HP charm (for the 100 second stand rooms) and HP/MP pots. Make sure to take the reward pack and not the disabled cog at the end.
Try to join a faction that has a base. Then you will be able to get two daily quests from there.
I feel your pain in trying to level. I just hit 100 with my seeker alt last night and i did not do a single FF run. It is possible just hang in there. Once you hit 95 it gets easier with Morai quest chain (17mil exp) and several new dailies. So for now just focus on 95 and good luck.0 -
it sounds like these sins that u talk about are alts of some1 that already has a toon that has a suffient amount of coins to buy them there sin alts gear....
Just keep hackin away at it dude...
maybe go in nw and try to earn some tokens for some coins.... buy 1 piece of hh90 per week u go to nw... u can easily make 100 tokens in nw... even if u die all the time.... there is pve aspect in it also....
do guild base quests, they should be giving experience at lvl 90 now....
set a low goal like hitting lvl 90-95 this way u dont get so discouraged with all the things u have to waiting for you. Once u hit lvl 95, Morai will open.... this will open awhole lot of quests and dailies to ur routine... all the yellow quests in morai will give u atleast 1 and half lvls..... and at the end u get a morai wep that basically equals to r8 wep for pve, aim to get this wep, this will make u atleast lvl97 and u have nice wep... you have to do these yellow morai quests for aeu and eu anways, use this wep until 100,
by lvl 97, with u doing dailies and pv95+ u should be at lvl 100 in no time....0 -

From experience: All a sin needs is TT90 armor (+3 or so if you want) and the daggers from the Morai lvl 95 quest, to be able to selfgrind a bit. Anything more is just gravy, but for a drone that runs on lvl 92-96 melee mobs, it's enough. Total cost to set that up: A bit of time and around 10 million in gear.I'm so P.R.O... I Press Respawn Often.
