So it's been about a good year and a half since I've left pwi. It and I had to go our seperate ways it was changing so muc on me from 2009 till now. Admitedly I wasn't able to play the game as much as I'd want to due to technically difficulties and the like, which left me unable to really get into the high-end content and competitive zones of the game.
With that out of the way I just wanted to know with the current state of he game is it worth it to come back? I'm also thinking of rerolling on a fresh server somewhere to get my barrings together and just start clean and really experience and imerse myself into the gaming world. Is this a fine time to beging? WHat server shall I hop on? Orginally if it wasn't obvious I've only ever played on harshlands.
THanks in advance for all who reply =)

If you left a year and a half ago because a lot changed sin 2009 then you are really going to be disappointed now. This game has changed a lot over the past year and a half. But nobody can tell you if these changes were for the worse or better because only you know what type of game play style you like. You'll just have to experience it for yourself to find out. It is still end game oriented however there have been changes to open up the rest of the game to low to mid level content. You'll be better off if you start fresh because it's going to be like playing a different game with the changes.

Which server you choose depends on if you want PvE or PvP. the economy is not as screwed up on PvP servers as it is on PvE servers due to an in game bot system.

There will be an expansion early next year with a race and 2 new classes with some really weird skills and buffs. If you really want a fresh start with new experiences then that would be your best bet. But if you want to get a grasp on the current status of the game then log on and poke around and find old friends to talk to..
    I **** bigger than you...

Shut up and play the game.....Damn

    To answer you question.

    1. Low player population (keeps getting lower)
    2. Gold prices are way high, over 3Mil on some servers
    3. There is now a reborn thing in game, where you get put back to lvl 1, and lvl all the way back to whatever lvl 100+. Oh ya, then you can do it again. There are advantages to this. Look it up.
    4. FC fixed. And by fixed I mean, no more hypers allowed in there, making it another dead instance.
    5. War Avatar card. Making OP people Uber OP.
    6. Very poor customer service. You think it was bad 1.5 years ago? Its worse now.
    7. Its only going to get worse.

One thing that depressed me the most is the low player population in my server. I'm having trouble making groups for instance or let alone recruit players for my faction right now.b:surrender

Instances are fine on Lost City but guild recruitment is really bad I've noticed. Yes there are some new players however I feel as though most of the server are in the same guild they have always been in or maybe some slight shuffling around. This guild might have the main character and another will have an alt.

As of right now, I enjoy helping the new players out--able to recruit 2 of them today. Other than that, the rest of the day was spent on trying to find a group to help with my BH's. I thought that a better idea would be to build my faction up with a balance of high and low levels so that we can help each other out with everything, but it has been pretty unsuccessful for awhile.

What's sad is the fact that my newbies are distraught at how expensive everything is in my server. I would tell them that you just need to enjoy the other aspects of the game despite high prices on mats and such, like questing and doing some dailies or helping friends out.

One thing I don't understand on my server is that EVERYONE wants to buy HH mats. Cheap HH mats that take seconds to farm. You would think with how nicely geared everyone is now, that farming HH would be easy but I think people are lazy.

I once saw someone WCing to buy some herbs. Granted a year ago they could have gone to the many shops in west for herbs(what happened to those btw) but they didn't want to buy a pickaxe and farm the herbs themselves. I noticed this with Pstones too. They are easy to get if you do OHT daily, make gear and decomp, something that takes 5 minutes but no one does it and we have to deal with the 5k Pstones.

It's so strange, things that are easily farmable, people aren't doing anymore and thats why prices of mundane items are too high.

Totally agree with this one. I would fly around the map, and I notice many mats or herbs not being farmed. It's crazy!

If you're basing your choices entirely on gold prices, sure.

If you want to play with other people on a regular basis, Archosaur and Lost City are a couple of the worst choices you can make. (Which might shine some light into the gold price situation there.)

Of all the servers, Sanctuary is likely the most populated.

I think LC server has the most balanced economy which is actually more important now for players than ever. Dont think its fair to put LC in the same bracket as Arch in terms of population. For sure we're behind sanctuary but I still think we're one of the more active servers.

That would mean activity has improved greatly over the past year on the LC server. Last major event I recall, it was the only server unable to complete the quests because of low attendance.

If PWI *really* wants cash-shop money, and to revive dead instances then start selling a 5 gold token (that lasts 30 days) that allows you to "be a squad" in order to enter an instance. Now that gear/cards/RA has made people so OP, why not use it?

It's the "getting 3 more people to help me open" that keeps people from just farming their own mats.

Oh how I wish that was true on p.stones on archo. Last I checked they were ~2k and I can only dream of 10k p.stones morai had a while back according to forums. As it is now, its not worth my time to craft my mats into p.stones and thus I got lifetime supply of defense charms. The amount of p.stones I could make out of my mats is counted in hundreds of thousands. Well I craft some every month or two to restock my defense charms.

The game gives out lots of free apoth pots that's why. Most apoth isn't even worth to make and most stores now are at 1k streams buying instead of selling so they can make apoths to sell.

For me, I really think there is a substantial lack of ways for us to merchandise, that does not depend on us buying and reselling merchandise from the shop.

This is the one big flaw I dislike about PWI. No real method to make enough coin when your small to get some simple items you need. And you almost crawl your way up.. making it very painful at the same time. It should not be this way.

There should be more crafting resources and designs available to us. I don't think PWI understands that this is also key to a good gaming experience.

But Perfect World does have a outstanding community, and I really like this server. I've played on the other servers (PVP) but seem to click better here (PVE).

I understand the original programmers are back. I'm hopeful.

When PW came out, I played the PW-MY version and it was an amazing game, until the company got over zealous with the pay to win stance and honestly, they've pulled focus away from evolving our gaming experience, to finding more ways to heavily market their cash shop.

I can only hope they ... eventually put that much attention to expansions and enhancements within the game itself.

Yeah design problems when you don't have a gold sink.

A lot of people don't like being told the brutal truth about design flaws in their game and have strong hope. I logged in, today and I was like 'Earning Time' and a friend told me, The game can play for you, using macros you made. I was just like. Wow, Perfect World, you must really want your players on the PvE/PvP servers not even to earn anything anymore, let alone actually do this thing called playing/interacting with the game. Wasn't there a problem in 2012 with people learning to play their class? HORRREEE SHIART!

Yeah all the gear locked behind impossible pay-walls? Can't sell your stuff? Not enough people. Another design problem, lel. Did we forget to mention RNG Lock Boxes and now they've got the game macroing over and over again just to 'pretend' there are active players.

Yeah cause those crafting mats in Heaven and Hell are only used for potions and the wine for the FBs. Yeah PWCN just keep designing that lucky box wall.

    Archosaur Studios. Uh, right.... RIIGGGHHHTTT.

Yeah Perfect World Co LTD is hopefully running out deals in the west to buy. On the bright hand side it's convinced it's good friend Sumpo Food Holdings recently to deal deals and is known as: (which is having problems with poultry because of the H7N9 strain avian flu epidemic)
“one of the well-known chicken meat products suppliers in Fujian and we sell our chicken meat products under the ‘(Sumpo)’ brand.”
    and make a shell company.

PWCN or Perfect World Co LTD. is busy acquiring assets.

I swear this PW Company. I have a great respect for the people of PRC (People's Republic of China) but I'm telling you It's like SUMP and HUMP or as the title of my post says "PUMP AND DUMP." or was it? "SUMP AND DUMP" Yeah I feel you about Malaysia, man, Cubizone was a great company and we had a good time. But the giant perfect vampire just keeps sucking it out of the likes of Cryptic and Zombie Studios. The worst part about SUMPO is the stake is 58%. I suppose in the long run we can hope for some Indy Developers to make MMO(R)PGs and hope for the best.
