What's the best way to kill Puppeteer?

Maybe it's a stupid question but what is the way you deal with Puppeteer best? Is there any special tactics for it not to jail the whole squad? If there was such a topic before could anyone link it please?

everyboss (i can think of) announces in local chat when its about to do something, also almost every boss is time or hp based interval when it casts the mean stuff
puppet is time based 10+30x seconds, locally qqs something about being infuriated0 -
Puppeteer telegraphs his jailing in normal chat. He says something about "your ignorance!" When you see that, spark or immune and you won't be jailed. It's very lenient with the timing.
He's pretty easy to solo if you have enough hp/pdef to survive his bleed.0 -
Squad full of R9RRR Needs to follow no rules or strategies, all they would need to do is spark and auto attack or spam the starting area skills. If squad is not full of R999 Then that's where the strategies come into play, i've seen the boss die in the blink of an eye. Literately 4 seconds.0

Did it with 2 ppl before. Think 1st jail is 20s after aggro, then jail every 30s afterward, but that was awhile ago when we did that.Elena Costel: I wash my hands of this affair.

Thank you everyone for your ideas! Much appreciated. As I don't have end game gears, it's essential for me to know as much as possible about the boss. Usually I don't have much time to see all its attacks, I either get killed or jailed. b:surrender Thank you for the info on the jailing skill time period, I'll try to use sparks and some pills for immunity. Any other dangerous attacks it uses?0

I know R9rrr players that can solo that thing. So you dont need a sqaud. All you need to do is watch normal chat. Boss say something when its about to jail you. You need to learn to time and spark exact in the moment when its about to do that.
About sqaud, you dont need a sqaud of full R9rrr ppl to kill him fast. If you got a veno and BM and DD that know what to do the boss will die fast even if you dont got any R9rrr player in squad. Sometimes you dont even need BM or veno or both.0 -
He never jails the one who has agro, always one of the others.
While in practice with 10 random people you usually just attack it like mad and simply hope its gonna die before it jails multiple people, it is actually good to know who is going to tank it. It may be a barb or someone else who is strong enough to rely on to tank it. Preferably even after the cleric is jailed. (so let the tank be ready to use something like dew star of protection when that happens)
Let there be communication in your squad so that everyone follows the same plan. The plan is either ignore adds or have at least a portion of your squad (maybe just the ranged ones or everyone except the tank) focus them down asap.
The choise between these 2 may depend on who has been jailed (BM puppets are pretty nasty so you may not want to ignore those. You also may not want to ignore the loss of your cleric)
Also of course the later in the figh you are, the more likely to ignore. If it looks like you can get the boss down before he jails someone again, you go for it. Else, do not let it happen that 2 people are jailed or it is the beginning of the end.Everything i write is from PvE perspective unless mentioned otherwise.0 -

So you mean if one solos it, the boss will never jail him?WannaBM - Archosaur wrote: »The plan is either ignore adds or have at least a portion of your squad (maybe just the ranged ones or everyone except the tank) focus them down asap.
Does that mean that you ignore them while the boos is alive and then after it is dead deal with puppets or will they disappear after boss's death themselves?WannaBM - Archosaur wrote: »The choise between these 2 may depend on who has been jailed (BM puppets are pretty nasty so you may not want to ignore those. He-he, last time we were 4 jailed. It's not good, but either I have to look for a pro squad (which is difficult because everyone wants well-geared and experienced players) or die endless times. b:surrender heh0 -

1, nope, only works if 2+people then the tank wont get jailed, if solo still jails
2. puppets dissapear when boss dies
also the bleed is on a timer, its every 0+30x seconds iirc0 -
Thank you for clarification!
It's good to know the puppets will disappear themselves.
The quicker one kills a boss, the better, I got it.0 -

Well no, what i was trying to say with choosing 2 choises (killing puppets or not) is this:
If you ignore the puppets and try to kill the boss before it wipes your squad, that does not create a stable situation. You are now rushing to kill it in time. This works for OP squads or for the last bit of his HPs.
If you are not OP or the boss is not nearly dead, you need to revert to the stable situation. 1 person tanking the boss, at least 1 person healing him. The rest of the squad makes sure every puppet is killed ASAP (at least before the next one jail cast). This is stable and you should be able to hold this indefinately. Any extra time beyond killing the puppets can be used to damage the boss. But the prime goal is to maintain a stable situation. It is exactly the same thing against the bisshop boss in FC or incacerate in FW.
That said, it is sometimes possible that you might find a squad vs boss matchup where you cannot achieve a stable situation and thus are forced to rush for the kill. I dont really think it should be your first plan with puppet if hes posing difficulties though unless maybe you are for example a squad of 10 G13 sins.
And it is that choise, rush vs stable situation that should to some degree be communicated so that the squad is on the same page here.
The 2 issues that pose a risk to your stable situation at puppet are the jailing of the cleric or (the only capable) tank losing agro and being jailed. So you got to think about how to deal with these. (second cleric, invoke/dew star/top)Everything i write is from PvE perspective unless mentioned otherwise.0 -
Not sure if anyone else killed the Puppeteer recently, but on my recent trip whenever a squad member sparked it created a puppet add.0

Even average T3 squad or T2/R8 with good refines mixed with T3 people can kill that boss with ease before the puppets come... Communication and debuffs ftw.Leader of Cyanure on Valonsurma and a proud member of Vertu

So many weird suggestions..
for normal people its really simple, to avoid a whole squad being jailed you kill the Puppets that spawn.
By killing the 1 puppet that spawned, you get the jailed person out of jail which then can help you fight again.
So everytime someone gets jailed, have 4-5 people focus on killing the Puppet to free the person in jail.
That way your whole squad will never be jailed.
All that focus on it killing hard thing is risky, lame and depends on specific squads that you dont always get. - So just do it normal way.0 -
Easy. For me as an endgame barb.
BloodRush -> Engange and use Devour -> Go to human form and use violent triumph -> triple spark -> Use an IG and bash the hell outta the boss (tangling mire and EP help alot).
The IG will prevent you from being teleported and you have around 30 seconds from there on to kill the boss. Simple and easy and can't be used as any high-DDing class. My Barb:

I just bring my alt sin. A tiny bit of practice teached me how to get this unequiped toon trough the rocks without taking any hit while the barb can walk trough the rocks on the other, afk client. Costs probably like 20 seconds extra to bring to sin. Well worth the comfort to me, cuz killing before he jails a second time i think is a close call even with your gear that is more endgame then mineEverything i write is from PvE perspective unless mentioned otherwise.0 -
One tactic would be having a sin concentrate in stun-locking the puppet and some another DD nuke it down meanwhile while the rest of squad kills the boss. Works only if the sin knows how to stun-lock successfully. (Good luck trying to find such a sin, though)
The Puppets are actually good PK-practise. They're not too far from an average full T3 damage-wise, they just have slightly more HP and no CDS, while also lacking a bit in AI (though still surpassing most players in how to play their class).[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I can solo the puppet with ease, if you spark resist his jailing the bleed is the only annoying part.
My gear when i first started soloing him was r9rr+6 with +10 dags.
A mystic has it easy because puppet jails your summons, Xaner (who was g16+8 (with half HP half pdef incomps, at that time with a +10 glaive and cauterize) was able to solo it with ease as well. Demon mystic too btw.0 -

Oh, tbh, it's not. I farm that ini for Buff Pills regularly. It fails kinda once every 50 runs so I'm kinda bullet proof on that account. I usually pull all the mobs with me to the boss for max Blood Rush and chi gain. Normally I spark once tho.
I made a quick vid to showcase that.

nice, unfortunately i am too bored with the game to still give a F or i should try some again on that. When i let my sin take it jails her 3 times but then im also killing the puppets pulling it to the out-of-jail spot. Guess all in all there's quite some time to win
I cant spark resist it though. Im too slow, laggy or both.

Thank you everyone for your ideas and info, and for the video too. Impressive indeed!
As I play a veno, what's veno's job with this boss? Any special ways how a veno can help the squad?0
