It should be a news expansion for pwi_cn cuz

1) no any site and forum for pw2, only official news on pwcn web.

2) after first AD news, then release after 3-4 weeks. No enough time for AD if new game

3) the web site on pw2 logo still pwcn site

4) Wanmei company has other similar case for his new expansion, called XX2, even XX3.

5) Don't be confused by called open beta. Wanmei some time called their expansion release as "open beta" test. They did when seeker and mysic class release in their AD

though there are some ppl still think it could be a new game.

anyway, we will know exactly what will happen in next a few days

let me give some translate about some important things in official news.

They called new race as Long ( pronunciation like that, mean hazy, obscure). two new classes is named dark shadow ( phy) and moon fairy (caster)

seems two new weapons for two new classes. a new sword (phy) and a sickle (caster), which also shown in pw2 logo

they give some descriptions about new class heroes ( keep in mind, this is hero, not class char).

For dar shadow (phy), he can rush to enemy from far away. control enemy is his characteristic

For moon fairy, she can channel her skill when moving.

there is a new city in pw2, called city in the air. it could be the city for the new race.

still no clue how to make hero in game, is it like a pet, genie?

1) pwcn CM called pw2 as new version ( i still believe it is a new expansion)

i guess they should not add more endgame mat(always need CS) in this expansion. card gap is very large in pwcn, many rich men have 2nd rewaken nuema set, though better in pwi, cuz far less heavy CSer.

BTW, pwcn CM said new race flyer is the thing, which is two part, stamped by two feet individuly. many players guess it is wind-fire-wheel, which one traditional flyer in chinese myth

The only thing I am actually not sure if I like and will be a game breaking experience to me if implemented is the action combat system. I love the point and click from PWI. Maybe if it is implemented I will like it, but, at the moment it doesn't appeal to me personally at all.

I'm not sure anymore if the lady with spheres is a human wizard. She looks like a human (no tattoes, no aquatic theme, her ears and skin tone is normal). Google Translate says she's a wizard. It (I mean wizards wielding spheres) makes sense because IIRC it was a human who teached soul magic to the tideborn.

But she comes just before assassin hero, so she's probably a psychic. Translate mentions about tribes and shamans, humans don't have tribes in PW.

8months only since they released the card system which is a sort of r10 gear . I already cashed about hundreds and hundreds euros and i still dont finish to collect the card.

If the class hero is a sort of r11, it is too soon to be released. If it is the case the gap between endgame gear and very endgame gear will be so unfillable !!

Never thought I'd live to see this, although seriously it's still almost a month and a half away.
We don't know more about it other than Hero Class + New race, along with new engine to run the game on. I don't see how this is an "omg gaming 24/7 nao to keep up"-update that'll keep you that busy. More-so an overhaul on the game to make it more "2014"ish in style and graphics.

- There were rumors last year about PWI getting updated to run on the new Angelica engine, surprise surprise PWI2 get's announced on that exact engine
- We don't know for certain yet and game mechanics as in controls are always open to customization
- It surely can be, a sequal being exactly like the original but with new graphics = bad moneymaking, and we all know that's PWE's goal.

Didn't they do an overhaul for one of their other games though?

Also, it would be more logical for them to rage if this actually IS an expansion rather than an entire new game... If it was a new game and they didn't like it they could just ignore it.

An update would force them to see it which would be causing a flood of QQ.

Big updates are usually followed by new stuff -> new spends.
Or new time-consuming dailies, which slow down farming progress. Especially if it's like spirit, which isn't needed in pve and you need it at least to negate your target's extra power if you don't plan to prevail.

If it was a new game, based as an upgrade on the original, that would pretty much mean the death of the old game. Because why would they bother with new expansions on the old version? They have a new version out, completely revamped and easier to build from without all the past versions to constantly have to fix when it runs into integration issues.

That would mean their characters would be able to play in a dying sandbox, or they jump ship to the new one where they have to start over. That to me sounds like a much more valid reason to complain than an expansion. Because F2Pers will more likely jump to the new one, since they won't have quite so large a mountain to scale. Gold prices would be easier to deal with, they could get a head start, and the power creep would not be an issue for quite a while. So new players won't bother joining. That's server death.

New skillshots game mechanics (neverwinter\swordsman style) imply that all the current classes have to get heavily modified aswell if not entirely replaced,
so this can't be just an update since the whole current game will have to be modified to adapt the new game mechanics...

I really wish this would be just an update myself, but they wouldn't have called it PW2, they would've called it with a name like they did for all the other major patches...

Also we've never received a patch of this "quality", 6 races and 12 classes at once? in an update? Let's be serious, if they would've devved such things for an expansion, they would've released the races 1by1 as they did with EGs and TBs

So 2 possibilities :
- It is a new game and our version of pwi wont be updated anymore which means that our servers will be let such as a dead corpse.
- If it is an update, there will be a lot of peeps who re gonna leave due to this hero class/new OP gear. I m spending a lot in game to stay competitive and because i m approaching my goal in game in term of gears / cards. But if the updates come before letting peeps to reach everything released in the previous update, it will discourage a lot of people....
