Short on clerics in FSP

Everyday people spend time waiting in FSP for mostly clerics and barbs.
What kind of game is this, having to wait 1 hour to do some action.
I'm sure people run out of time, have to go, or don't do FSP at all with this mess.

My solution: put a npc cleric in some of the rooms in FSP

This thread is already platinum just by the OP.

    Your suggestion won't happen however.
Sad but true there's a lack of both, and it won't be fixed anytime soon, if ever.
Game is spiraling down so don't expect it to get a lot better. Maybe try at a different time? Cause of timezones and stuff.

Selfish solution tbh. Helps you sure, but what about the clerics who are now unwanted for FSP as squads would rather take another DD..

    My solution:
    1. make friends
    2. join an active faction
    3. make a squad of you, a barb and a cleric that runs FSP together every day.

Clerics will always be wanted, they can mag dd+ heal.

    >Many glitches
    >Your problem states you can't get a cleric

Where exactly is it the fail of an instance when you fail to get a cleric?
You're pointing the finger in the wrong direction in a wild way.

So far I haven't encountered any glitch in FSP myself as many times as I ran it, besides the rubber banding but that's not exclusive to FSP.
It's one of the better instance in PWI imo actually.

And darkskies is right, putting in something like this would just make clerics obsolete for the instance (FSP) for a squad. Saying they can heal and DD is a contradiction to your own suggestion.

Another solution: lvl your own cleric. It will never be useless for buffs in any case. Not a huge trouble to lvl and reawaken it once. Thus, at least one problem will be solved.

There are plenty of clerics to go around with, but they all just made their own FSP squadb:laugh

But as said by others above me, plenty of clerics in active factions. Clerics are in our faction the most common class *-* Barbs are harder to find, but putting an "NPC" in there to fulfill those roles makes the whole mechanic of Toad obsolete soooooooo yeahb:surrender

I don't know how it is in other servers, but in sanctuary there is usually shortage off clercis in the squads im in. We fill up the squad quite easy to 8 or 9, and miss out on barb/cleric.

I'm sure it's different for the 3-4 bigger factions. With glitches I ment the axes not dropping at times.

Make friends? What kind of answer is that from a mod on a serious topic. Won't post again, this is laughable.

There are plenty of players that can actually tank the Toad but some people would rather have a Barb+Cleric instead.
The DoT from the boss only goes to the one who has secondary aggro and Triple Spark purifies. Then there's also things like Faith on genie, Sutra pot, natural skill from classes (Psychic, Sage Venomancer, Archer 2 spark), genie chi skill for you to spark etc.

Okay, I don't blame people for not trusting another class to tank or expecting things will go smoothly because people will know how to purify the DoT (a lot of them are suddenly incapable of doing it if there's no Cleric to purify the DoT for them..) but you can give it a go.

My regular FSP squad has an Assassin tanking the boss and I've been to a few random ones as well that have been tanked by a Psychic. I even made an all-Venomancer FSP squad and we managed to do it (was a bit chaotic at first but we figured things out).

All I'm saying is: try doing it in a different way. Ask for roles instead of classes. Might turn out well.

The axe won't spawn if someone has died and spawned on the dead person. I think it also doesn't spawn if you have several axes in your inventory already. What I do when that happens is to wait a round until I get an axe and then go back to using it when boss does his thing again.

Since when clerics are mandatory in FSP ?
You can do perfect runs with no cleric at all... and I'm not talking about full R9.3+10 squad.

Doing a run with no barb is a little less easy (still talking about standard team) because you need a good timing (no lag) but runs with no clerics are not really harder than a run with a cleric...
Take a mystic that know how to heal and you don't necessary need a barb to tank, just open your mind and ask for roles, not classes.

I think people want cleric for purify more than for healing.
But well psychics can have a better purify, sage mystics can spam their 25% purify skill and people can just save sparks anyway

Actually I have witnessed quite a few times on Sanctuary where an fsp has 2 or 3 barbs or clerics in one squad. This problem of finding classes isn't limited to cleric or barb. FSP is a rainbow squad instance. If you are missing a class the instance can become more challenging.

The fact is getting your fsp squad is going to be a challenge whether you're looking for barb, veno, cleric or bm and so on. The posters here are rude, but right, in that the best way to go about this is make friends with people. For instance I have a cleric that I NEVER do fsp on. But if one of my friends need a cleric, I bring it.b:chuckle

Still it's rather silly to demand a role be automatically filled just because a person is having problems with a specific class they want. There's so many ways to deal with that and trying to whine and act like you're being victimized when people point out common sense methods is... rather silly, to say the least. :/

I'm sure people run out of time, have to go, or don't do FSP at all with this mess.

My solution: put a npc cleric in some of the rooms in FSP

As darkskies said, this approach specifically negates a class. Creating a npc to specifically cover the role of a class is a bad bad bad idea. It is true that its harder to find a barb or a cleric than most other classes. It's also true that less people play a barb or cleric, and of those that do...even less play them as their main...of those that do....even less are actually good at it. Both roles come with a lot of responsibility in squad, and not everyone is willing to roll these classes. (Not to mention that neither of these classes is known for their offensive abilities, but rather for their defensive and regenerative qualities.
With people like the one on top of me (darkskies) something will never be done. Keep encouraging them to do nothing about a fail instance with so many glitches and problems so many players face, not just me. Good job.

Clerics will always be wanted, they can mag dd+ heal.

I'll agree that FSP can be glitchy.

But its not as bad as you say that it is.

    Glitches that I've encountered:

    Axe not spawning.
    Rubberbanding.
    Increased lag at times.
Succubus calling one thing, yet blasting you to death despite obeying her commands.

Some glitches. Sure, but its not nearly as bad as you say, and the axes and succubus when she starts lying can be adjusted by resetting those bosses.

You're asking them to do something about the instance...which isn't really fail. (As you haven't really validated a reason as to why its fail.) However, your only solution is to add a cleric npc to every room.

If they ever add that, I'll hope you get the most utterly **** cleric npc known to man...with all heals level 1...no BB, no buffs...and a random purify that purifies a person that does not need it every 3 minutes...and only heals with level 1 blessings of the purehearted every 90 seconds.

Sounds mean, huh? Well, I'm a cleric main, that knows my class, excels in it, and is happy playing a cleric. Your solution removes me from the instance.

But wait. I can get a squad anyways a DD'er.

Wrong. Clerics are actually...not to uncommonly shot down for attempting to join as a DD'er...yes, including FSP.

    Let me say why.

In term of dph, here's the magic spectrum:

    Wizard > Psychic >Mystic > Cleric > Venomancer.

Before you say that if veno's can get in, so can clerics...keep in mind that venomancers have debuffs, purges, and amps for days, so their dph can skyrocket once they weaken an opponents defenses...AND they're the best at it. Sure, clerics can know a few nasty attacks too, but people are going to go for the DD classes for the DD purposes, as a pose to restoration classes, because people don't understand how capable of DD'ers, we really are. It's not really uncommon for clerics to be shot down for simple things like Delta, wave 2, volunteering to solo any other pavilion aside from fire, and metal. The list goes on.

If they put an npc cleric there, then what's stopping them from putting it elsewhere too? Once they do that, clerics are going to be even rarer than they are now, as they'll be an obsolete class.

Not to be mean, but your idea is completely and utterly horrible. Removing one class from the instance...in an effort to fix the instance isn't proper gameplay. It's doing something that you feel is convenient to you, yet inconvenient for the numerous clerics that do play. Not just this. It actually punishes the efficient clerics that know their class, and heal well....while rewarding the DD clerics that attack macro everything within sight.

Oh, and btw. Even clerics sometimes have to wait for a long time for a squad. Though I still do not agree with you, nor support your idea, I find it ironic how you mentioned waiting for a cleric and a barb...yet you only chose to make a npc cleric, as a pose to a npc barb.

So make a squishy, yet essential class a npc immortal object...that does the same thing as the squishy class...but due to being a npc immortal object that's stationed in the room, it can't die...then claim that clerics will still be wanted. Even if you gave them hp like in the wizards in UCH or the npc's in Warsong....It's still a completely, and utterly horrendously bad idea.

    Hi Serenity,

There are creative ways to way implement a npc cleric without making the cleric class useless. Like making it cost half a million to activate it. The squad can split that fee instead of all the used tele's.

I agree there are also creative ways to do it without cleric/barb but in practice the people are not always skilled to do the role or don't have op gear. Today we failed alot and someone almost had to go in the middle of the run because she had to bring her kid to school. This is just an example of consequence that can happen due to not finding the class/skill required to finish the instance without too much wait up/delay.

Thanks for your effort anyway, appreciate your input.

I agree on saying it is possible to run without a cleric, though some prefer to have one because they feel more comfortable with one (albeit some aren't all that great x.x).
But there are times when they seem to poof from existance, but I know a cleric friend of mine will run with several fsp groups just to help sometimes when there's a bunch of people stuck looking for one and he's got some extra time.

I think barbs/tanks are harder to come by though personally. b:surrender

    Hi Serenity,

I agree there are also creative ways to do it without cleric/barb but in practice the people are not always skilled to do the role or don't have op gear. That method would still make the cleric obsolete. FSP is an instance which players run to earn more finance. Covering a small fee would still make the cleric class obsolete. Literally, at 500k fee, with a 10 way split, I can cover that by selling literally 1 page. That's a 50k fee per person. I can make more than double that by selling 1 page.

Also, in any run...coincedences can happen.

Full WS squads can fail because people can't solo pavilions.

Tanks can dc in the middle of pulls.

People can have to go...and that can be any class. Skilled as I am at my class, if I hit a 10k lagspike, I'm not healing anyone effectively.

Thing is,...if they create a npc version of a class, they have to do that for all of the classes.

Another thing. What's then stopping people from creating a solo version for themselves, and farming it...using a bunch of npc's, in the hopes that books drop. The pages themselves would cover the fee, so that turns into another issue.

I'm a cleric. I've been at Toad alone for over 2 hours before. My point is that...you can fail at FSP or various other reasons for a variety of reasons.

Can't really blame a cleric for that. I admit that clerics and barbs are in short notice, but I've already gone into detail about that in my previous post.

A npc of any class would effectively make that class useless. A cleric is wanted primarily to heal, and to keep a squad alive. You take that away, and what do you have?

A bunch of clerics that have to DD alone to have a squad, as people won't take us for our DD power, over a mage that specializes in DD, or a sin, or an archer, blademaster, or seeker.

Not saying that you don't have good intentions...but seriously, your suggestion has a lot of holes in it, which may be nice and advantageous for you...but prove to be highly disadvantageous for the cleric, and even moreso, your solution would result in making this already rare class...even rarer.

So, that said...a npc of any class...I feel is a bad bad idea.
