Title specific catshops vs non-specific

Another thread got me thinking about catshops. Since so many plague West Arch, when you decide to go look through catshops, do you only check ones with specific titles? What I mean is example. A catshop titled B/SEoDEoOHP you know mainly has EoDs, EoOs and probably plat hp charms. So if you are looking to buy or sell those items, that catshop probably catches your eye and you go to it.
Then there are the plzBuy, LookHere, YouWant, YouNeed style catshops. Non specific title, and normally selling junk no one needs.
Personally I don't even open these type of catshops and look to see what they have to offer. There are so many catshops in west it takes far too long to check them all.
So my question is, does the title of the catshop make you more inclined to check it out or bypass it all together?

Personally i open them all... Nothing ventured nothing gained... skipping a catshop can make you miss out on a hidden prize.. sure half the time its a waste but none the less there's always a chance to gain and all you have to do is look0

Depending on what I'm looking for I check the non-specific catshops nearby when the catshop is in a region the type of item I'm want is usually sold. But mostly I just ignore the non-specific ones. Usually they have too many different items to be listed on that title or are filled with junk.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Depending how desperate I am to try find a certain item - if it's not in the specific catshops at West I start going through them all more and more thoroughly until I find it or until I've checked them all. If I'm just bored, I'll check all of them, who knows what I'll find.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I personally don't tend to be much of a browser in the West. When I go there, I have a specific item or items I need, and since I don't have a lot of playtime I definitely gravitate to the catshops that have the item I need listed in the title, or at least a title that leads me to believe that item could be there (like "Pack Items" or "G16" or such). Every time I have glanced at a shop with a generic name like "cheap stuff" it has been useless molds or low level gear, so I've stopped even looking.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

i check catshops in general like every 3-4 month ( making a round in arch).
never ever anything changes in catshops. its always the same ****, only the price doubles for all that useless tand.0 -
If the title says "cheap", it's always overpriced.
If the title says "all you need", it's useless random stuff you can get for free, overpriced
If the title says "[insert certain item]", and I need said item, then I would only look into it (to find it all sold out ofcourse).0 -
If I am looking for something specific, I start from the shops whose title sells those specific items. However, I do not limit myself to those, I checked the general vicinity of those shops as well.
As a seller, I prefer making thematic names that refer to my name. I've been using things like "Olba's Packs", "Olba's Orbs" or "Olba's Dyes" for some time. The reasoning behind this is that while I want to make my merchandise known, I also want to make a personality out of it. And from what I have seen, it's worked pretty well, I have had some "regular customers" PMing me.I am Olba. Not Ol, not Baze nor Blaze. And even less would I go by Olblaze. Please, take a second to read a person's username.
If you see b:cute be sure to take a second, calm look at anything I said.0 -
If I check shops just to see if there anything interesting to buy, I check all shops in whole west arch.
To be honest I'm not reading the titles much, however if I look for something specific I check the areas that have those items..
Forexample if I need charms, west tele it is. Orbs at west jewelscraftman, fashion in the "fashion corner", and apothecary items are at south tele. (I know its different for every server more or less)
Only if I'm going to buy tokens for like mp food/teles, I go straight for the "UFOo" shop, and I know many that does the same. I dont even bother check token prices in other catshops anylonger, he the best 99% of the time anyways. If he aren't up I buy tokens later on lol
I think the position of the shop is very important. This is a test0 -
I always completely ignore a catshop without a specific titel unless I'm really searching for something I really badly want. Especially the ones begging people to buy from them, that just bothers me.It is said that apple pie is best served Al La Mode, so if you are the pie, consider me your ice cream.0

Most of the time, I won't bother with a catshop that uses some nonsense title. If they cant be bothered to actually advertise what they have in a sea of catshops putting "free', 'all u need' , 'stuff', 'look here', then I can't be bothered to sift through them. It doesn't even need to be specific, just put generic titles of what you have - 'event items', 'warsoul mats', 'tt mats/g16' or whatever to at least advertise. Why people wouldn't, I don't know. Using more specific advertising would move items faster as you're not alienating the people who don't care to go through nonsense titled catshops.
Imagine going through a mall and all the stores had generic names and advertised having 'stuff'. Doesn't make sense to do this if you actually want to sell things.0 -
If I'm just browsing around in west arch, I'll look in all the shops. However someone setting up a shop somewhere else in arch with the name 'plz buy' or 'look here' isn't gonna be opened. For some reason a popular spot is the gate between the forge quarter and south proper. Always a shop there with 'look here' on it.... I've never opened it. Not gonna stop my running for that. If I'm near there I'm on my way somewhere.Camlyra-Raging Tides. Since the avatar is broken.

Yeah, there's been catshops labelled 'Books' in the same spot, which actually got me to stop, even though it ended up not being for my class.Camlyra-Raging Tides. Since the avatar is broken.

if im searching to buy something, i'll open them all.
The title is restricted in length, and probably can't list everything.
Since I shop for prices, I look at all shops regardless of title.
(but only shops in the area I know that sell the items I'm looking for.... else its way too much time wasted I could just farm the extra coin to pay extra.... unless its a really big name item.)YOUTUBE:

Usually if I'm after something I either go to the shops that I usually visit at (theres certain ones at certain places selling the items I need) or then I browse through all because even the specific ones might sometimes sell some extra items that I'd like to buy.Leader of Cyanure on Valonsurma and a proud member of Vertu

The only times I won't check them all is when I'm in a rush.
That said, I'll look by area first and save the random useless catshop names for last as more often than not, they aren't worth the time. Though those few times they do have a good deal it tends to be very worth it.(Insert fancy image here)0 -
I only look according to what they advertise. If I need lunar mats, then I look for any catshop that has something like "S>Lunar Mats". All the others I skipt them.
I don't really like to browse catshops. I wish it was somehow easier.0 -

I wish consignment shops were free to use/1 time purchase and therefore far far more popular.0 -

The side effect of this would be completly killing merchanting / undercutting / placing / forced logging , or at least turn it into a completly different thing.
Still thsi would make things easier, and I wouldn't really complain even being a merchant myself. Only bad point on this would be location, but as long as you're forced to move to a single-far Comissions NPC to do the buying it could be ok (selling and buying TT mats on TT spot for 40k+ than in comission shop, you'd posibly buy that Substance you need or this kind of emergency things there instead of porting up and down)
Not gona see this though xD At least, not soon. They love having thousands of catshops around, maybe?0 -
If I'm looking for something specific; I'll go to a catshop that suggests it might have what I am looking for first. I'll also check the Auction House. Before I log off for the day/night whatever; I will eventually browse through all of them; especially if I'm not really tired. I find good deals every now & then; and I am a girl, so shopping's my thing[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

As many people if I look for something in particular I choose specific named catshops first but I know pretty well that sometimes needed things can be found in other shops too, moreover they can cost less. And if I am just taking my time cat-shopping I try to look what all shops have in store.0
